Predictions?
I don't think it will become Jaci's 17th (?) #1, nor do I think it will match the peaks of "You're My God." She should have released "Lost Without You," even though radio programmers may have thought it was too secular.
I predict: #1 - Christian Inspo DNC - Christian CHR N/A - Christian AC (Already peaked?)

This is kind of boring, but it has nice lyrics. During the bridge, I was anticipating for Jaci to go Whitney style and blow the roof off, but it's very monotonous. www1.allaccess.com/sounds/jacivjes.ram"Lost Without You" should be released next.

#5 on Inspo this week. I don't know where it peaked. ???
#20 on AC. Good staying power for a song that didn't peak very high!
"Lost Without You" is entirely secular except for her "Lord!" shout. CCM listeners will "kick it" on the "kick it or stick it" competitions! :(

Is she not releasing "Lost Without You"? Or was she advised not to do so for the sake of Delta's plans of US domination. :'( AllAccess has her next single in January as "Unspoken."

"Unspoken"? Well, at least it has a chance of doing well.
I doubt "Lost Without You" will get released. I wish she would release like 5 singles off this album, as she's done in the past. It needs to go platinum. :'( It's not even gold yet. It only spent one week in the top 100 (#55 debut), but it did hang around the top 200 for at least a month, I believe.
Word is just letting this project die. I'd be surprised if she releases anything after "Unspoken." However, I don't think she has begun working on a new CD, since she is still touring. Will it be another 3 years until she releases a CD? Maybe she will release a GH next year as her tenth CD.
Sony Discos seems to be letting "Milagro" die too. "Mi Vida Es Nada Sin Ti" does not look like it will be released after all. What a shame.

Why is everyone hating Jaci because she did "Chasing Papi," a movie I have yet to watch.
I hope Jaci goes hip-hop next, just to prove to all those hatas she can do what her heart desires.

LOL That would be neat. But she already said she could never picture herself doing pop, so I think that would apply to hip-hop too. Or maybe not?

Isn't she singing pop right now?? All she has to do is sing more songs like "Lost Without You" and she'll be the next Stacie Orrico! Maybe use Stacie to duet with her so she can hit it back in CHR/Pop.
I think Jaci should make a song about how her fans are hating her and throwing rocks at her glass house when they don't know her.

I think Jaci should make a song about how her fans are hating her and throwing rocks at her glass house when they don't know her. lol Well... Jaci is not singing pop! Her definition of pop includes songs about the love of man, not of God. She does not sing any English songs about the love of man. She sings Spanish songs about the love of man since she doesn't know what she's singing. lol j/k. But that's true for her first Spanish album, at least. Now she's nearly fluent! :) "Donde esta mi gente Latina?" got a huge response at her concert. Most of her Spanish songs are similar to Stacie Orrico's latest songs. They can be interpreted as either songs about God or songs about man.

Man... don't get me started on Jaci. I may get to interview her next Saturday for a feature I'm working on.
Let me just say I'm glad Milagro isn't moving any units. The album was just plain bad, and many of the love songs were so clichéd and formulaic that made a romantic like me cringe... lol. At last check, the album has sold abour 40,000 copies. Ouch!
As far as Unspoken is concerned, her ditching of long-time collaborator Mark Heimermann and her trusty A&R sidekick Judith Volz defintely affected the caliber of the material that made the album.
I mean, Word pre-Warner Bros. takeover would've never released an attrocity like "You Are My God" (a vapid, trite, and happy-go-nowhere ditty) to radio, much-less as the first single. "Jesus Is" is a little nicer musically, but it's still a tired subject matter. The quality of the album did pick up a bit with "The Real Me," "Glass House," and "Something," three tracks where she gets personal and where the production finally doesn't bore.
And you can't forget about the Jaci co-penned and produced "Your Friend," which is atypical for a pop song, but still very interesting and fun overall (love the salsa-styled rhythm section and those freakish strings).
Unspoken has sold a bit south of 200,000 units, which is not too good considering that all her past English projects have passed the gold mark.
Peace out, Andree

I'm surprised "Unspoken" almost sold 200,000 copies! Still very low in comparison with her older albums, as you already mentioned. But that estimate is higher than I had thought. BTW, is your username taken from her "Escuchame" song?

You know why Jaci is not selling well? It is not because of her maturity and good music, but those hatas who hide her albums in stores because they were jealous of her starring in "Chasing Papi"... it's a shame.
I know of a friend of a friend who works in a music store and she told me she knows a co-worker who hid Jaci albums so customers could not buy it because she was in the alliance against Jaci in "Chasing Papi."

Congratulations Jaci on having the topic with most replies in the Christian forum!

well, I'm resurrecting this thread. ;) anyway, I just got her album yesterday and think it's perhaps the most "pop" sounding album she's released to date. Her best songs are Lost Without You, Where I Belong, and The Real Me (coincidentally, if TRM would be released as a single on pop radio, I think it would fare pretty well, as I think it's pretty catchy) But it's really a good thing she's focused on singing songs about God rather than Man. Probably one of the few people I've heard about that is so devoted to their faith. BTW, does everybody know she got married? I would have pegged her as a singleton.

Jaci has an article in the new People En Español, with "Papi" on the cover. I haven't read the article yet, but there is one picture of Jaci showing...cleavage! Stop press! Boycott. :o
