^Thanks; that would shake things up some compared to the Mediabase top 40 chart and such. :)

As I've said before, while Rick's chart appears to be loosely based on a combination of the actual CHR and HAC charts, it does not appear to be based on any actual data. The chart movements each week are way too uniform for that to be the case. The vast majority of songs each week move up or down 1 notch, or they hold in place. It's fairly rare for there to be multiple debuts. Sometimes a song will debut really high, say at #25, and coincidentally the week's dropper will fall out from #24. Or, one artist will vault up the chart to, say #9, with one song, and also plummet from #8 to #18 with their other song. No countdown based on real data is that precise all of the time.
I've long suspected that they want to keep the show going indefinitely, but with as little production effort as possible.

Which again begs the question, who exactly is 'they' and who is their target audience? And who is their actual audience? Very interesting questions. I don't get the impression that this show still has a wide audience, and yet whatever network produces the show allows it continue production. If the show isn't making a huge amount of money, that could be why it seems so poorly produced.

Not that anybody cares that much about it, but there are elements of Dees' personality which might suggest he's very much on board with being remembered as the record holder for "longest-running countdown host".

WT40 OVERVIEW
AFTER 67 weeks (1 week @ #1) and a pressuring logjam of former #1s above them, "I Like You (An Happier Song)" by Post Malone and Doja Cat finally exits
Last week's Sure Shot AJR's "Yes I'm A Mess" debuts at #33
This week's Sure Shot Taylor Swift's "Is It Over Now? (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault)" will definitely debut next week
Speeking of Taylor, "Cruel Summer" logs in for a 12th week at #1

Calm Down is now spending its 28th week inside the Top 10...that's 3 weeks longer than any other song in history. It's also rising again from #11 to #10 and to #9 this weekend. As It Was is only one month away from becoming the longest charting song ever in history on the WT40. The "USA Top 40 Survey" Countdown Show

Meanwhile, Selena's newer song is falling fast already and will probably be gone well before Calm Down exits the top 20. Welcome to radio in the modern era.

Calm Down has spent a record 32 weeks inside the Top 10. It hit the Top 10 the first weekend of May. During the first weekend of November, it fell to #11. However, it rebounded back inside the Top 10 the very next week. TOP 10 Chart Run: 7 6 5 5 6 6 1 1 1 1 2 2 2 3 2 2 2 5 4 4 5 5 9 9 10 10 (11) 10 9 8 8 9 10... The "USA Top 40 Survey" Countdown Show

Rick's Top 40 for the year isn't as bad as it could have been although not sure how Is It Over Now and Lift You Up made the list this year. I have Cruel Summer at #7, but he puts it at #1. The "USA Top 40 Survey" Countdown Show
