Looking at the Billboard chart I still stand by that Jordan Davis is gonna freefall off the chart for next week. Also judging by the losses it looks like Dixie Chicks and Little Big Town will freefall off the chart. Also technically if they do not re-bullet Eli Young Band and Old Dominion will go recurrent but I do think the latter is here for the long haul,
That being said it does look like this will be cancelled out since I suspect we will be getting iHeartMedia debuts from both Brad Paisley and Brett Eldredge this week and who knows if Billy Currington re-enters again.

Commentary/Highlights This week was just messy. That is the best way I can sum it up. Somewhat fun week but this week there was so much uncertainty.
Starting at the Top 10 where it is pretty cut and dry, where everyone moves up a spot or stays in the same gaining order for the most part except Brett Young and Jake Owen who are in freefall, however due to how far Kenny Chesney and Scotty McCreery are do not expect this Top 10 to change much for at least a couple weeks.
Gabby Barrett scores her first #1 with “I Hope” becoming the first solo female to hit #1 with their debut single since Carly Pearce back in late 2017 with “Every Little Thing”. Great weeks for Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani “Nobody But You” which looks to hit #1 next week or the week after depends upon what “I Hope” does next week. Morgan Wallen is also doing a great job with “Chasin’ You” as it enters the Top 3 and nears #1, as I imagine it should wait out Blake and Gwen. Now the song I am less sure will be able to wait out “Nobody But You” and to a lesser extent “Chasin You” is Ingrid Andress as “More Hearts Than Mine” is now the song that has arguably spent the longest time in Top 20 rotation at least and despite overall strong sales, and testing the song is still on the weaker end when compared to Morgan Wallen and Blake Shelton/Gwen Stefani.
Next week I do expect “Beer Can’t Fix” to enter the Top 5 replacing Brett Young, The duet is still getting undercut by “Be A Light” and “Does To Me” continues to close in, which if it does make the pass, than I am worried for “Beer Can’t Fix” chances at #1. Where as I think Luke Combs is in a GOLDEN spot to make a run at a multi week #1 as Travis Denning is nearing 60 weeks (I think “After A Few” has one more week left in it), Carly Pearce & Lee Brice continue to do decently well but are still moving at a mediocre clip and after “I Hope You’re Happy Now” there is a MASSIVE gap between Carly/Lee and the next batch of songs.
Kenny Chesney and Scotty McCreery both struggled this week and are only moving up a spot due to the gap between them and Keith, Carrie, and Sam. Speaking of those three after a few very strong weeks “Drinking Alone” is back to moving a bit slow as Keith Urban and Sam Hunt threaten to pass. I do think “Drinking Alone” still has some life left in it but my gut is still telling me it will peak like a “Cry Pretty” or “Love Wins” and not “Southbound”. LoCash has a decent week at Week 49. While “Monsters” by Eric Church struggles this week after making it up to #17 and looks to be getting left behind a bit. Thomas Rhett’s “Be A Light” should be the new Top 20 entry. Maddie & Tae continue to hover just outside the Top 20 awaiting their third Top 20 single and first in just under 5 years after “Fly” hit the Top 20 back in mid 2015. Miranda Lambert does take a bit of a back burner as Chris Janson and Michael Ray hit the gas. While Chase Rice continues to really struggle in the 20s as it continues to do nothing as Ashley McBryde threatens to pass him. Brett Eldredge should see a solid Top 30 debut but I do expect “Gabrielle” to have to go through a marathon chart run. Look for Luke Bryan to also sneak into the Top 20 with “One Margarita” although I do think Jameson Rodgers does have a small chance to stay in the Top 30 but I do think the odds are much more in Luke Bryans favor.
Below the Top 30 I have both Rayne Johnson and Eli Young Band going recurrent as both lost too much audience it feels like to stay on the charts. Beyond that not much highlights as Jason Aldean stands a good chance to enter the Top 40 in his second week. Old Dominion and Parker McCollum rebound into the Top 40 while Runaway June and Lauren Alaina stay afloat due to CT40 spins, with this really applying to “Head Over Heels”. Look for a Top 50 debut for Brad Paisley due to iHeartMedia, Lindsay Ell should finally match her #50 peak, Tenille Arts finally sees a good week with “Somebody Like That” while both Dixie Chicks and Little Big Town look to be at the end of the road with their latest singles and spend a final week, mainly due to no one besides Niko Moon moving all that much in this range of the chart. Lastly look for Niko Moon to chart for the first time with his debut single “Good Time”
Songs I see Leaving Soon Jake Owen “Homemade” Travis Denning “After A Few” Gone West “What Could’ve Been” Jon Langston “Now You Know” Dixie Chicks “Gaslighter” Little Big Town “Over Drinking”
Songs In Danger Eric Church “Monsters” Chase Rice “Lonely If You Are” Dillon Carmichael “I Do For You” Lauren Alaina “Getting Good” Brantley Gilbert “Fire’t Up” Granger Smith “That’s Why I Love Dirt Roads”
Songs I See Debuting/Returning Soon Kelsea Ballerini & Halsey “The Other Girl” Adam Doleac “Famous” Dylan Scott “Nobody” Kane Brown “TBA”
Closing Thoughts The charts right now are the most hard to predict heading into the future as it seems like so many songs are trying to hold on for dear life and from the Top 30 below it feels like most songs sans Jason Aldean and Maren Morris are struggling to gain any traction while a good chunk of songs in the Top 25 thrive. Even within the Top 25 songs from Travis Denning (due to age), Scotty McCreery, Kenny Chesney and Eric Church are also struggling to stay afloat. While singles from Little Big Town and Dixie Chicks are looking to leave this week (I do think they both could go drop out this week, but I played it safe and both stay on)
With Gabby Barrett either staying at #1 another week or a slow fall, no one in the Top 10 looking to go out, and a Kane Brown debut on the horizon. The charts will remain treacherous, as all of the songs that are either already recurrent or I have projected to go recurrent this week (Billy Currington, Eli Young Band, Rayne Johnson) stay fighting to stay alive. So many songs are struggling and it is going to be interesting to see who survives and who waves the white flag on both charts as I do think we are gonna be in for some more housecleanings. I do see singles from Billy Currington, Eli Young Band, and Rayne Johnson giving up for good soon, and I don't see singles from Gone West, Chase Rice, Eric Church, and Jon Langston lasting much longer either.
Last, I would keep an eye out from singles from Runaway June, Lauren Alaina, Dillon Carmichael, Brantley Gilbert, and Granger Smith. All have been on the charts for a while not doing much, and could be in trouble in the next couple of months, but in the same breath they can easily benefit from a good housecleaning both position wise and gain wise.

Going Recurrent Or Drop Outs Jake Owen “Homemade” Peak #1 Weeks: 46 Dillon Carmichael “I Do For You” Peak #40 Weeks: 28 Big & Rich “Stay Home” Peak #49 Weeks: 3 Adam Doleac “Famous” Peak #60 Weeks: 1
Commentary/Highlights Another chaotic week on the charts, with a new #1, another iHeartMedia debut, and the charts in an overall confusing state.
At the top of the chart should be Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani with “Nobody But You” and expect them at the top this next week. In the runner up spot should be Morgan Wallen or Ingrid Andress depending if Ingrid pushes through tomorrow. Despite the massive push I do think unfortunately for “More Hearts Than Mine” is bound to either a #2 or #3 peak tomorrow. Entering the Top 5 should be Thomas Rhett and Jon Pardi with “Beer Can’t Fix”. Carly Pearce and Travis Denning keep picking up Top 10 conversions. That being said I do think “After A Few” is near the end of the road given the age of the song. Also entering the Top 10 due to spin clause should be Kenny Chesney with “Here And Now”. Despite entering the Top 10, Kenny Chesney’s gains continue to remain sluggish.
Below the Top 10 should be Scotty McCreery as he nears his 5th overall Top 10 and his third in a row with “In Between”. Passing Carrie Underwood and nearing his 7th Top 10 is Sam Hunt with the red hot “Hard To Forget”. Carrie Underwood should be staying at #13 for a second straight week with “Drinking Alone”. Now with the Mediabase testing out I am curious how the home stretch of “Drinking Alone” chart plays out. Entering the Top 15 should probably be Florida Georgia Line with “I Love My Country”, however both singles from Eric Church and LoCash do have a slim chance of filling the last spot in instead, however none of the three had particularly strong weeks.
The last two slots in the Top 20 are looking to also be a close battle between Justin Moore, Miranda Lambert and Chris Janson, as Justin Moore hits the brakes and Miranda Lambert hits the throttle with their singles while Chris Janson coasts along. I expect Kane Brown to debut in between Maddie & Tae and Chase Rice, Chris Young, and Ashley McBryde with his new single “Cool Again”. Speaking of the three Chase Rice and Chris Young both continue to struggle and I would not be shocked if neither make the Top 20. Luke Bryan also looks to crash into that area with red hot “One Margarita”. Gone West should stay put at #29, there is a small chance they do go recurrent but my gut is telling me they will be on the chart. Newcomer Jameson Rodgers looks to re-enter the Top 30 with “Some Girls”.
Kip Moore continues to prowl just outside the Top 30, as both Jon Pardi and Hardy (Lauren Alaina & Devin Dawson) get swarmed by a fast Brad Paisley with his new single “No I In Beer”. Parker McCollum begins to take off with his debut single “Pretty Heart” and I can easily see this song entering the Top 30 next week given the fact this song also is getting the On The Verge treatment. Lee Brice also surges very well after his debut two weeks ago. On the negative side Jon Langston got buried this week losing both spins and audiences, I do think “Now You Know” could easily stay on the chart but I do think the song has done just about all it is going to do.
Overall nothing weeks either way for the latest singles from Old Dominion, Jason Aldean (shockingly), Chris Lane, Lauren Alaina and Russell Dickerson. Meanwhile Runaway June really struggles with “Head Over Heels”, I do think they eek out a grace week but like Jon Langston it is close. Unlike “Now You Know” I do think Runaway June could last a bit longer on the charts. Brett Eldredge goes through his iHeartMedia hangover as newcomer Tenille Arts stands a decent chance of scoring her first Top 50 single on country radio with “Somebody Like That”. As Lady Antebellum begin to climb with “Champagne Night”, past single “What I’m Leaving For” takes a final bow on the charts. Lastly look for the latest singles from Kelsea Ballerini and Jimmie Allen to debut on the charts. Songs I see Leaving Soon Ingrid Andress “More Hearts Than Mine” Gabby Barrett “I Hope” Travis Denning “After A Few” (I think this next week is the last week) Brett Young “Catch” Chase Rice “Lonely If You Are” Gone West “What Could've Been” Jon Langston “Now You Know” Lady Antebellum “What I’m Leaving For”
Songs In Danger Chris Young “Drowning” Lauren Alaina “Getting Good” Runaway June “Head Over Heels” Lindsay Ell “I Don’t Love You” Granger Smith “That’s Why I Love Dirt Roads”
Songs I See Debuting/Returning Soon[ Luke Combs “Six Feet Apart” Mitchell Tenpenny featuring Seaforth “Anything She Says” Adam Doleac “Famous” Jake Owen “Made For You”
Closing Thoughts With the charts this uncertain, only the strong will survive, I am not going to make any projections of who will leave outside of obvious freefallers for next week All I can say is that most songs below the Top 25 especially better buckle up and hold on.

Lauren Alaina “Getting Good” 48. Maren Morris “To Hell & Back” 49-50. Lindsay Ell “I Don’t Love You” 49-50. LANco “What I See” 51. Dustin Lynch “Momma’s House” 52-54. Tenille Arts “Somebody Like That” 52-54. Niko Moon “Good Time” 52-54. Granger Smith “That’s Why I Love Dirt Roads” 55. Brantley Gilbert “Fire’t Up” (last week?) 56. Payton Smith “Like I Knew You Would” (New!)
New and Active Section (in no particular order) Luke Combs “Six Feet Apart” Adam Doleac “Famous” Stephanie Quayle “Whatcha Drinkin Bout” Tyler Farr “Only Truck In Town” Mitchell Tenpenny featuring Seaforth “Anything She Says” Mackenzie Porter “These Days”
Going Recurrent Or Drop Outs Brett Young “Catch” Peak #1 Weeks: 48 Eli Young Band “Break It In” Peak #39 Weeks: 29 Lady Antebellum “What I’m Leaving For” Peak #39 Weeks: 10 Dillon Carmichael “I Do For You” Peak #40 Weeks: 29 (85% chance of gong recurrent) Big & Rich “Stay Home” Peak #49 Weeks: 4
Commentary/Highlights Another bit of a housecleaning as the bottom of the charts really get swept and tossed around. Spending a second week at #1 should be the superstar duet from Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani “Nobody But You”, I would also expect the runner up song “Chasin You” by Morgan Wallen to spend multiple weeks as I fully expect Morgan Wallen to block the much weaker “Beer Can’t Fix”. Also look for Luke Combs to enter the Top 5 with “Does To Me”. Travis Denning in his record breaking 60th week should set a new peak of #6 with “After A Few”. I am unsure if this is Top 5 conversions or if this week was the push week so as such I think Travis Denning gets another week on the charts.
Scotty McCreery should get his fifth Top 10 single with “In Between”. Time will tell how much longer this song has, but for now I am going to give it the benefit of the doubt. Sam Hunt looks to replace Ingrid Andress in the Top 10 next week, despite “Hard To Forget” slowing down this week. However, it looks like Carrie Underwood is picking up the pace a bit with “Drinking Alone” as she should probably end up replacing Gabby Barrett in the Top 10 more than likely. Keith Urban also picks up the pace but is still a decent bit behind Carrie Underwood. Despite moving up a spot each, the latest singles from Florida Georgia Line, Eric Church, and LoCash slow down a bit in terms of gains. Miranda Lambert after entering the Top 20 last week, “Bluebird” hits the accelerator button and should pass the latest Justin Moore single and Thomas Rhett & Co single, as the latter two don’t do much this week. Chris Janson should enter the Top 20 this week with “Done” as it looks like a future #1.
Below the Top 20 remains Michael Ray and Maddie & Tae with their ancient singles as both have slow weeks, not going slow is the hot selling new single from Luke Bryan “One Margarita” which I expect to enter the Top 20 next week. Chris Young should re-bullet with “Drowning” but the song is struggling to stay afloat. Ashley McBryde does slow down, but “One Night Standards” is still doing well overall. Chase Rice gets the short end of the stick this week as “Lonely If You Are” stands a somewhat decent chance of going recurrent
Kip Moore enters the Top 30 for the first time since early 2019 with “Last Shot”. New singles from Lee Brice, Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, and Parker McCollum have great weeks, while Hardy (Lauren Alaina/Devin Dawson) don’t gain a lot with “One Beer”. Also expect Brett Young to debut just below the Top 30 with new single “Lady”. Old Dominion loses their place in the Top 40 as they struggle, while both Russell Dickerson and the new Lady Antebellum single “Champagne Night” see solid gains, Chris Lane and Lauren Alaina should both starve off going recurrent as both lost their bullets last week, but both should squeak on by. Runaway June on the other hand it is a complete coin flip whether the trio of ladies stay. Decent weeks for Maren Morris, Lindsay Ell, LANco, Tenille Arts, and Niko Moon while Brantley Gilbert looks to lose his bullet in his 20th week, while our new and returning entries near the bottom of the chart should be the latest singles from Kelsea Ballerini/Halsey, Dylan Scott, Jimmie Allen/Noah Cyrus, and new artist Payton Smith with his debut single
Songs I see Leaving Soon Ingrid Andress “More Hearts Than Mine” Gabby Barrett “I Hope” Chase Rice “Lonely If You Are” Gone West “What Could've Been” Jon Langston “Now You Know” Runaway June “Head Over Heels”
Songs In Danger Chris Young “Drowning” Lauren Alaina “Getting Good” Lindsay Ell “I Don’t Love You” Granger Smith “That’s Why I Love Dirt Roads”
Songs I See Debuting/Returning Soon Luke Combs “Six Feet Apart” Mitchell Tenpenny featuring Seaforth “Anything She Says” Adam Doleac “Famous” Jake Owen “Made For You” Tim McGraw “I Called Mama”
Closing Thoughts With another housecleaning this week, I expect sans Ingrid that next week should be a lot more calm in terms of craziness on the chart. Tim McGraw should debut but I do not expect a lot of positive positions to change next week.

Going Recurrent Or Drop Outs Ingrid Andress “More Hearts Than Mine” Peak #3 Weeks: 45 Chris Young “Drowning” Peak #25 Weeks: 32 Brantley Gilbert “Fire’t Up” Peak #44 Weeks: 20
Commentary/Highlights This week was a mini chart cleaning as Ingrid Andress, Chris Young, and Brantley Gilbert all appear to be done.
At the top of the chart this week. Looks to be a close battle between Thomas Rhett/Jon Pardi with their song “Beer Can’t Fix” and Morgan Wallen with his song “Chasin’ You”. My gut tells me that “Chasin’ You” barely edges out “Beer Can’t Fix” however, I think it can go either way for who is number one this week. After spending the last 2 weeks at #1 with “Nobody But You” begins it’s rather slow descent down. Rounding out the top 5 should be Luke Combs/Eric Church “Does To Me” and the 61 week chart run for Travis Denning and “After A Few”.
Carly Pearce continues to gain with “I Hope You’re Happy Now” and remains comfortably in between Travis Denning and Kenny Chesney/Scotty McCreery. Speaking of which the latter two continue to pick up Top 10 conversions and Sam Hunt scores his second Top 10 single of the year with hot selling “Hard To Forget”.Carrie Underwood struggles this week with “Drinking Alone” as Keith Urban and Florida Georgia Line close the gap and stand a decent chance of passing her. Another solid week for Miranda Lambert as she climbs really strongly through the teens with “Bluebird”. LoCash and Eric Church struggle this week barely staying afloat, the last spot should come down to Luke Bryan with white-hot selling single “One Margarita”, new Tim McGraw single “I Called Mama” and Maddie & Tae with “Die From A Broken Heart”.
Due to “Beer Can’t Fix” aggressive push the other Thomas Rhett single “Be A Light” is going to get temporarily bounced out of the Top 20. Singles from Chase Rice and Gone West struggle to stay afloat. While Brad Paisley, Jameson Rodgers, and Kip Moore compete for the last two spots in the Top 30. In the 30s singles from Matt Stell, Hardy (Lauren Alaina/Devin Dawson), and Midland due well this week while Jason Aldean and Jon Pardi do not do much.
In the 40s singles from Lauren Alaina, Brett Eldredge, and Lady Antebellum have great weeks while Maren Morris, LANco, Lindsay Ell, Chris Lane, and Russell Dickerson do not move much at all. Lastly in the 50s expect new entries from Drew Baldridge and Luke Combs/Brooks & Dunn.
Songs I see Leaving Soon Gabby Barrett “I Hope” Chase Rice “Lonely If You Are” Gone West “What Could’ve Been” Jon Langston “Now You Know”
Songs In Danger LoCash “One Big Country Song” Eric Church “Monsters” Chris Lane “Big, Big Plans” Maren Morris “To Hell & Back”
Songs I See Debuting/Returning Soon Parmalee & Blanco Brown “Just The Way” Stephanie Quayle “Whatcha Drinkin Bout” MacKenzie Porter “These Days”
Closing Thoughts So this week in the end is just kind of a dud despite the fact that a total of three songs ended up leaving the chart this week. Mainly because of the fact that there are no immediate songs I can see leaving right away. I guess I could see one of Chase Rice, Gone West, or Jon Langston go recurrent but any of those 3 could easily stay on the chart next week.
The good news is that I do not foresee a huge debut next week. So with no iHeartMedia debut, next week should show how radio is feeling about a lot of these songs since there doesn't appear to be any huge events to happen next week.

Going Recurrent Or Drop Outs Michael Ray “Her World Or Mine” Peak #22 Weeks: 47 Runaway June “Head Over Heels” Peak #41 Weeks: 25
Commentary/Highlights The charts are very stagnant this week at the top and the bottom is also not much more fluid.
Starting this week at the top of the chart is Morgan Wallen at #1 with his huge single "Chasin’ You”, given the huge gap between Morgan and the next song in line for #1 Luke Combs & Eric Church "Does To Me” I would not be shocked if Morgan Wallen is able to get a second week at #1. like mentioned before Luke Combs should be in the runner-up spot with his latest single “Does To Me”. Duets from Thomas Rhett/Jon Pardi and Blake Shelton/ Gwen Stefani continue to drop however I don't see either one of them going recurrent anytime soon. Rounding out the top five for the second week in a row should be the marathon chart single from Travis Denning "After A Few” in his 62nd week.
Gabby Barrett continues to slowly fall down the charts as she looks to probably flip places with Carly Pearce and Lee Brice this week. For Carly Pearce she is nearing her first top five since her debut single “Every Little Thing” back in 2017. Kenny Chesney and Scotty McCreery pick up strong top 10 conversions. Also gaining well this week is Sam Hunt with “Hard To Forget” which also continues to distance itself from the pack of songs below it.
Most of the singles in the teens have solid weeks with the notable exception being Eric Church with “Monsters” as he really struggles to stay alive and has singles from Chris Janson and Maddie & Tae knocking on his door, speaking of the latter, Maddie & Tae pick up their third Top 20 single at country radio with “Die From A Broken Heart” this week. After an abysmal start to the week “Be A Light” is beginning to pick up the pieces after the last week really damaged the songs progress. Ashley McBryde sees a bit of a rebound this week with “One Night Standards” as she nears her first Top 20 single. Chase Rice also sees a mini surge this week. Due to Michael Ray going recurrent, Kip Moore should re-enter the Top 30 as all the songs in the 26 to 30 range look to have a close finish.
Jon Pardi really benefitted as expected from “Beer Can’t Fix” being in freefall, slow but stable weeks for the latest singles from HARDY, Midland, and Matt Stell. With the singles from Jason Aldean and Lee Brice only doing slightly better this week. Old Dominion continues to stay very complacent in the Top 40 with “Some People Do” as Brett Eldredge should surge back into the Top 40 with “Gabrielle” in his 5th week, while Jon Langston continues to flounder.
Lauren Alaina “Getting Good” sees another decent week as she really closes the gap between her and Chris Lane, and stands a good chance of finally getting above her #42 peak on Billboard set back in late February and could possibly enter the Top 40 with a bit of luck. Tenille Arts also continues to slowly gain more momentum as she stands a decent chance of passing LANco. Singles from Drew Baldridge and Kelsea Ballerini/Halsey should enter the Top 50, while singles from Lindsay Ell and Maren Morris don’t do a lot this week and lose traction.
Finally thanks to the Cumulus Block, Granger Smith “That’s Why I Love Dirt Roads” should re-enter and the well selling single from Parmalee/Blanco Brown “Just The Way” should also debut this week
Songs I see Leaving Soon Thomas Rhett & Jon Pardi “Beer Can’t Fix” Gabby Barrett “I Hope” Eric Church “Monsters” Gone West “What Could’ve Been” Jon Langston “Now You Know” Granger Smith “That’s Why I Love Dirt Roads”
Songs In Danger Chase Rice “Lonely If You Are” Old Dominion “Some People Do” Chris Lane “Big Big Plans” Russell Dickerson “Love You Like I Used To” LANco “What I See” Lindsay Ell “I Don’t Love You” Brandon Lay “For My Money"
Songs I See Debuting/Returning Soon Jake Owen “Made For You” Brothers Osborne “All Night”
Closing Thoughts This week was an interesting one as we really got to see what songs radio is enthusiastic about (Brett Eldredge, Kane Brown) and what songs they are done with or just want to let go of (both songs that should go recurrent this week, Chris Lane, Eric Church, Lindsay Ell). But for the most part on the chart this week the charts are very stagnant as not many songs move much position wise.
Next week I imagine it will be the same as despite no iHeartMedia debuts looking to happen, I do not foresee Gabby Barrett falling below the spin clause yet to go recurrent and in general besides Eric Church and Jon Langston there is no one in the Top 40 I see as a likely recurrent next week.

Going Recurrent Or Drop Outs Chase Rice “Lonely If You Are” Peak #23 Weeks: 46 Runaway June “Head Over Heels” Peak #41 Weeks: 26 Granger Smith “That’s Why I Love Dirt Roads” Peak #52 Weeks: 21
Commentary/Highlights The charts at the top remain static while the rest of the chart is disposing of the non movers. At the top of the chart should be Luke Comb /Eric Church with "Does To Me". Time will tell if the song is destined for more than one week at number one because with a 63 week old song from Travis Denning as the next in line to potentially peak at #1 I can easily see country radio just keeping Luke combs at number one regardless. Speaking of Travis Denning he looks to pick up his first Top 3 song with "After A Few”. I would not rule out a number one for Travis Denning here but he is going to have to wait out Luke Combs in order to get number one and considering how beloved Luke Combs is by country radio I don't feel the best about Travis Denning and his odds here.
Songs from Blake Shelton, Thomas Rhett, Morgan Wallen, Gabby Barrett continue to fall but only Gabby Barrett looks to potentially go recurrent next week there is a chance Thomas Rhett could but my gut is telling me he probably stays for one more week with "Beer Can't Fix”. The song that has really benefited from all of this is Kenny Chesney with "Here and Now" as it has really picked up the pace here in the last couple of weeks. Both Scotty McCreery and Carly Pearce Lee Brice are also gaining but not quite as strong as Kenny Chesney. However, for "I Hope You're Happy Now” I do think there is enough of a gap between Carly Pearce and the songs below her that she has a decent chance of hitting number one . Like Travis Denning I imagine she is probably going to have to wait out Luke Combs but I don't think it'll be quite as bad for her as it would be for him as “I Hope You’re Happy Now” is a bit younger than “After A Few”. However for Scotty McCreery “In Between” out of all of the songs in the top 10 he is probably the least likely to hit number 1 just do the age of the song and the fact that Kenny Chesney has really put a lot of distance between his song and "In Between". Rounding out the top 10 for the second straight week in a row should be Sam Hunt with “Hard To Forget” which is in an absolutely golden spot to hit number one as it has no songs really behind it that are challenging it at all and it's so such a young song that I think it will easily hit number one and probably honestly stay there for a couple of weeks.
Below the Top 10 is Miranda Lambert who is looking to replace Gabby Barrett next week in the Top 10 with “Bluebird” which would be her first Top 10 since “Something Bad” peaked in the Top 10 in October of 2014. Other songs that surged this week look to me Luke Bryan with "One Margarita” and to a lesser extent LoCash "One Big Country Song”. On the other end of the spectrum Carrie Underwood, Florida Georgia Line, and kind of shockingly as well Keith Urban did not gain much this week with Carrie Underwood having us somewhat okay week but the other two just had pretty much nothing going for them this week at all. also struggling still is Eric Church with his single “Monsters” as he looks to fall back to #19 after a previously peeking a couple weeks ago at #15, and next week does not look much better for Eric Church as he has Maddie & Tae hot on his heels with “Die From A Broken Heart” even though the girls didn't have the best of weeks they are starting to close the gap with Eric hurts and look to potentially passing next week.
Spending a second week at #21 is Thomas Rhett & Friends with "Be A Light”. do look for this one to re-enter the top 20 next week no matter what I do think they will hold off Kane Brown and Tim McGraw for at least one more week. despite hitting the top 20 tonight on Mediabase I don't see Ashley McBryde hitting the top 20 just yet on Billboard I want to believe she can hear soon but the audience gains for "One Night Standards”. Newcomer Jameson Rogers scores his very first top 25 song with his debut single ”Some Girls”. Brad Paisley and Parker McCollum have slow but decent enough weeks while Matt Stell picks up his second top 30 single with “Everywhere But On''. The other top 30 entry looks to be HARDY with Lauren Alaina & Devin Dawson and “One Beer” , also side note this will mark HARDY and Devin Dawson’s second appearance in the Top 30 and for Lauren Alaina this will be her fifth. Both songs have really surged and have kind of swept the much older singles from Kip Moore and Gone West to the curb and in the case for Gone West I have them back outside the top 30 again,
For the songs in the 30s there is not a ton as they are all kind of just complacent this week as none of them really stood out except to an extent Jon Langston but that was more of him just gaining up ground but not position wise. The one thing that is interesting is that assuming Chase rice goes with current which I think is highly likely there is an opening into the top 40 this week and the four songs that last week were just below the top 40 look to finish in a fairly close battle for that last spot in the top 40 And there is a feasible chance that any of Chris Lane, Lauren Alaina, Dustin Lynch, and/or Russell Dickerson get the last spot in the top 40.
Lastly in the forties and fifties Tenille Arts, Lady Antebellum, and Maren Morris, see some solid gains as do Brett Young and Kelsea Ballerini with their singles as well. Looking to debut are the new singles from Parmalee, Jake Owen, and Brothers Osborne as all are off to pretty good starts I must say. I do think out of all three songs that I have labeled recurrent I think Granger Smith is the most shaky since he just re-entered but my gut is ultimately telling me that he goes recurrent week after returning last week.
Songs I see Leaving Soon Gabby Barrett “I Hope” Thomas Rhett “Beer Can’t Fix” Eric Church “Monsters” Gone West “What Could’ve Been”
Songs In Danger Keith Urban “God Whispered Your Name”
Songs I See Debuting/Returning Soon Jordan Davis “Almost Maybes” Morgan Wallen “More Than My Hometown”
Closing Thoughts You may have noticed that when it comes to songs I see leaving soon and songs in danger I don't have many songs and that is mainly because the charts right now are just in such a weird state where I can't really tell who is looking likely to leave soon as it seems like a lot of songs are not gaining a lot but they are getting enough to where they're not in immediate trouble.
The biggest example being singles from Jon Langston and Lauren Alaina heck I would probably throw Chris Lane in there. Next week should be a little interesting since Gabby Barrett and maybe Thomas Rhett will go recurrent but that's probably the most excitement for next week as the charts have really slow down

These are my picks for #1 in the coming weeks starting this Monday. 1. Luke/ Eric 2. Luke/Eric or Carly/Lee 3. Scotty or Kenny 4. Scotty or Kenny 5. Sam Hunt 6. Miranda or Luke Bryan 7. Luke Bryan I don't see Scotty getting to #1 on Billboard to be honest with Kenny Chesney really extending that lead. Gun to head I would say this week will be a second week for Luke/Eric, than Travis gets a single week or Luke /Eric get a third week, which should theoretically clear the way for Carly/Lee to get a week on top, than Kenny gets two weeks on top (Scotty gets a week at Mediabase) from there I would say Sam Hunt probably rules the roost til the label wants to move on because country radio is eating "Hard To Forget" up.

Going Recurrent Or Drop Outs Gabby Barrett “I Hope” Peak #1 Weeks: 39 Eric Church “Monsters” Peak #15 Weeks: 38 Kelsea Ballerini & Halsey “The Other Girl” Peak #52 Weeks: 4
Commentary/Highlights This week was rather interesting. As we had a bit of a mini house cleaning. with Gabby Barrett, Eric Church, and Kelsea Ballerini/Halsey all looking to go recurrent this week. with that comes a couple of new arrivals and a returning entry.
However let us start at top of the chart where we see for the second week in a row Luke Combs along with Eric Church should be at #1 with “Does To Me”. In the runner-up spot and looking to hit #1 next week is Travis Denning with “After A Few”. If he is to hit the top of the chart Travis Denning would have the longest Trek to number one and it would be in this song's 64th week on the chart. Older singles from Morgan Wallen and Blake Shelton continue to fall off the chart however very slowly as neither “Chasin You” or “Nobody But You” look to go recurrent in the foreseeable future. Rounding out the Top 5 should be Carly Pearce/Lee Brice who in Carly’s case looks to score her second career top five with “I Hope You're Happy Now'' and I still think seeing a decent chance of hitting the top of the chart.
Below the Top 5, is “Beer Can’t Fix” which continues its descent on down. I do think it will get one more week on the chart. singles from Kenny Chesney and Sam Hunt continue to do very well as both look to be absolute locks for the number one position. on the weaker side is Scotty McCreery as “In Between” actually does stand a decent chance to stay at #9 for a third week in a row. the last spot in the top 10 looks to be a close battle between Luke Bryan and Miranda Lambert with their hot selling singles. Of the two I do think Luke Bryan is going to hit number one almost 100%. I do think Miranda Lambert does stand a good chance as well. but I do have an uneasy feeling that “One Margarita” is going to spend at least a few weeks at #1 on Billboard as One Margarita” is just such a huge hit on all fronts.
LoCash stays just outside the top 10. Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and Florida Georgia Line, I'll have okay at best weeks however none of the three are really doing a lot right now. Of the three I think FGL has the best chance of hitting the top. Whereas Carrie Underwood unfortunately is starting to kind of emerge as a somewhat weak link in the top 15. Singles from Chris Janson Justin Moore and to a slightly lesser extent Maddie and Tae continue to do decently while themselves. “Be A Light” really picked up conversions this week in the Top 20. last song in the top 20 should be Kane brown with "Cool Again”.
Ashley McBryde inches ever so closer to her first top 20 single on country radio. Tim McGraw actually had a bit of a slower week this week with "I Heard Mama” while Chase Rice had a decent enough rebound, however I still think his song is on really borrowed time at this point. Up until today's update this week was practically non-existent for Jameson Rodgers as “Some Girls” did not move much at all. Kip Moore and Jason Aldean look to barely avoid the mess that is just below them on the chart as I have all four of Matt Stell, Gone West, HARDY (Lauren Alaina/Devin Dawson), and Parker McCollum in a very close finish for the week. I do think Gone West is still going to last until the album drops this next month in June but after that I think the song is done.
Midland continues to hang out just below the Top 30 solid weeks for Jon Pardi and Lee Brice as well. Jon Langston continues to not do much of anything in the 30s as Dustin Lynch sees a solid week and Lady Antebellum storms into the top 40 with “Champagne Night”. black spot in the Top 40 looks to be a toss-up between Chris Lane and Lauren Alaina with either feasibly getting it. For Chris Lane this would be his fifth top 40 hit, as for Lauren Alaina this would be her 8th top 40 hit.
Singles from Russell Dickerson and Brett Eldredge actually kind of struggled this week to gain any traction at all. While Tenille Arts sees a solid week with her single “Somebody Like That” as I expect Tenille Arts to be in it for the long haul here and she could have a bit of upside and have a run similar to what we are seeing right now from Travis Denning, Scotty McCreery, and LoCash. Lindsay Ell struggled this week as well and while I don't think she is going recurrent, I do think she is starting to run out of gas. Lastly in the 50s there should be two new arrivals and the latest singles from Morgan Wallen and Jordan Davis along with a re-entry from Mackenzie Porter as most of the songs in the 50s actually didn't have a bad week at all.
Songs I see Leaving Soon Thomas Rhett/Jon Pardi “Beer Can’t Fix” Chase Rice “Lonely If You Are” Gone West “What Could’ve Been” Jon Langston “Now You Know” Lindsay Ell “I Don’t Love You”
Songs In Danger Carrie Underwood “Drinking Alone” Kip Moore “She’s Mine” LANco “What I See”
Songs I See Debuting/Returning Soon Kelsea Ballerini “Hole In The Bottle” Tyler Fatt “Only Truck In Town” Ingrid Andress “The Stranger”
Closing Thoughts Heading into next week we should see a new number one with Travis Denning. however I don't really see who is going next week on Billboard. Maybe Chase Rice gives up, maybe since the album is out Kip Moore gives up. In the lower parts of the charts maybe Jon Langston or Lindsay Ell throws in the towel. But more than likely next week is going to be extremely static as the songs that are falling off the charts right now in the top 10 are all songs that country radio and consumers in large just love.
A lot of next week is probably going to be showing which songs radio is truly enthusiastic about and which ones they are going to start phasing out here soon.

New and Active Section (in no particular order) Ingrid Andress “The Stranger” Ryan Hurd “Every Other Memory” Caroline Jones “All Of The Boys” Luke Combs “Lovin On You” Payton Smith “Like I Knew You Would” Tyler Farr “Only Truck In Town”
Going Recurrent Or Drop Outs Thomas Rhett & Jon Pardi “Beer Can’t Fix” Peak #1 Weeks: 23 Lindsay Ell “I Don’t Love You” Peak #48 Weeks: 24 Kelsea Ballerini & Halsey “The Other Girl” Peak #52 Weeks: 5 Payton Smith “Like I Knew You Would” Peak #57 Weeks: 4
Commentary/Highlights The best way to describe this week would simply be backed up. Mainly due to t2 new entries from Kane Brown and Brantley Gilbert both of which are expected to debut in the top 40. With only one song above them (“Beer Can’t Fix”) looking to go recurrent pretty much causes all the songs below these two to be pushed back a bit if the gains are not there.
Starting at the top of the chart after 65 weeks on the chart and 71 weeks being promoted to country radio Travis Denning should have his very first #1 with “After A Few”. In the runner-up spot will be the duet between Carly Pearce and Lee Brice “I Hope You’re Happy Now” which is expected to hit number one next week. The rest of the top five is occupied by free-falling singles from Morgan Wallen, Blake Shelton, and Luke Combs. Kenny Chesney moves another spot #6 as he is about to enter the Top 5 for the first time since “Get Along” in 2018. Scotty McCreery “In Between” closed the gap this week between him and Kenny Chesney, however he almost has Luke Bryan on his tail at this point and I still have some reservations about him hitting #1 on Billboard at least. Speaking of Luke Bryan “One Margarita” is on absolute fire selling tremendously and the beans this weekend radio were really strong. definitely think this could be a multi-week #1 and a lot of songs around this should be fearful for their Billboard number one chances.
Slow week for Sam Hunt as he should stay at #9 for another week. After almost scoring her first Top 10 last week, the sky should be clear for “Bluebird” to enter the Top 10 this week. Also looking to score their first top 10 in quite a while is LoCash who should enter the top 10 next. Despite abysmal callout scores Florida Georgia Line actually saw good rebound this week. provided that was more so because Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood especially just flounder this week. I do think “God Whispered Your Name” can easily rebound. But I do think the end of the road is coming for “Drinking Alone”. Also having slow weeks this week are Maddie & Tae and Chris Janson with their singles as both should stay at their spots from last week. The last spot in the top 20 looks to be close between Ashley McBryde and Tim McGraw with “I Called Mama” moving a little faster than “One Night Standards”.
While Chase Rice is going to get into the Top 20 on Mediabase, “Lonely If you Are” is still hovering below the top 20 here. I don't think the song will leave right away but I do think within the month the label is going to drop this. Pretty much the rest of the songs in the 20s saw decent weeks, nothing to outstanding besides to an extent HARDY (Lauren Alaina/Devin Dawson) who I think will finally enter the top 30 this week as this will mark his and Devin Dawson's second appearance in the top 30 and for Lauren Alaina her 5th, Top 30 and her first appearance since “Doin Fine” in 2018.
Below the Top 30, songs from both Kane Brown and Brantley Gilbert should debut, also looking to take advantage of how the charts are right now is Lady Antebellum with their hot selling single “Champagne Night”. On the other end of the spectrum singles from Jon Pardi and Midland didn't gain much at all and honestly the same can probably be said for Jon Langston. Russell Dickerson had an okay week which is just enough to nudge him into the top 40. Brothers Osborne continues their relatively fast start while the solo single of Lauren Alaina “Getting Good” didn't gain too much at all so help it get kind of pushed temporarily out of the top 40. I don't think Lauren Alaina is in any immediate danger and she is still getting ads and still gaining some what. on the other hand singles from both Chris Lane and Brett Eldredge just struggled this week. Same for Tenille Arts who pretty much gained nothing. LANco “What I See” was vulnerable to go recurrent this week but should be able to hang in there for another week. Unfortunately Lindsay Ell who was also without a bullet this past week does not look likely to stay on the chart for this week, I do think that country radio likes Lindsay Ell but I don't think this song was the one to break her out solo wise. Lastly entering the top 50 in his second week should be Morgan Wallen with the lead single from his second album ”More Than My Hometown”
Rounding out the bottom of the chart Jake Owen is off to a pretty good start and new singles from Jordan Davis and Kelsea Ballerini should also debut this week as both are off to a pretty good start.
Songs I see Leaving Soon Travis Denning “After A Few” Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani “Nobody But You” Carrie Underwood “Drinking Alone” Chase Rice “Lonely If You Are” Gone West “What Could’ve Been” Granger Smith “That’s Why I Love Dirt Roads”
Songs In Danger Chase Rice “Lonely If You Are” Midland “Cheating Songs” Chris Lane “Big Big Plans”
Songs I See Debuting/Returning Soon Tyler Farr “Only Truck In Town” Ingrid Andress “The Stranger” Luke Combs “Lovin On You”
Closing Thoughts Next week I don't really see who goes recurrent. mainly since this will be Travis Dennings first week of falling and all three of Luke Combs Morgan Wallen and Blake Shelton should stay on for another week. Maybe Carrie Underwood, Chase Rice or even Gone West go recurrent. but beyond that there is not much else . Next week I would expect Ingrid Andress to enter the chart and Luke Combs with their new singles. I could see maybe Chris Lane going recurrent beyond that I really have nothing.

New and Active Section (in no particular order) Ingrid Andress “The Stranger” Ryan Hurd “Every Other Memory” Tyler Farr “Only Truck In Town” Little Big Town “Wine, Beer, Whiskey” Stephanie Quayle “Whatcha Drinkin Bout” King Calaway “No Matter What”
Going Recurrent Or Drop Outs Brantley Gilbert “Hard Days” Peak #39 Weeks: 1 (still being promoted) Stephanie Quayle “Whatcha Drinkin Bout” Peak #59 Weeks: 3 (still being promoted)
Commentary/Highlights The difference between Mediabase and Billboard is astonishing in terms of chart position mainly due to Morgan Wallen and Blake Shelton being recurrent on the former. Hopefully they can clear out sooner than later as they are really causing the Billboard chart to be really backed up.
At the top of the chart we have Carly Pearce/Lee Brice with their huge #1 “I Hope You’re Happy Now”. If the label opts for it they can get a multi week #1 here. However the more interesting thing will be if the label decides not as predicting next week's number one would be next to impossible. I have Luke Bryan entering the Top 5 in his 12th week and if Carly Pearce/Lee Brice give up “One Margarita” stands a decent shot of hitting number one next week country radio is just converting this song very fast. With Luke Bryan moving so fast, I do think it is possible that Kenny Chesney “Here and Now” and Scotty McCreery “In Between” miss #1.
After spending 65 weeks being promoted on the chart, Travis Denning enters a very hard free fall and should be off the chart next week on Billboard at least. With Scotty McCreery co-hosting CCUSA this past weekend I suspect that this upcoming week will be push week for the top that being said I doubt “In Between” scores the Billboard #1. Since country radio is really converting Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney already has a pretty decent lead, and there is also the possibility that Carly Pearce/Lee Brice push for a second week.
Miranda Lambert looks to sneak past “Hard To Forget” as it seems like “Bluebird” will be the likely successor to “One Margarita” for the top slot. I do still think Sam Hunt will hit number one but it is very odd how slow he is going the last couple weeks. LoCash once again sits just outside the top 10, as they look to pick up their 3rd career top 10. Despite mediocre call out scores, “I Love My Country” continues to do pretty well. A song that is not looking strong is Keith Urban as “God Whispered Your Name” really flounders this week, which allowed “Be A Light” to continue to grow. Carrie Underwood also continues to not book strong on the chart “Drinking Alone” is probably at this point the weakest link in the top 20 and with both Chris Janson and Maddie & Tae looking very likely to pass Carrie next week, I do not see her hitting the top 10 on Billboard, and could see her going recurrent next week (I do think she will still be promoted next week regardless). Speaking of Chris Janson and Maddie & Tae, both artists see a solid week in terms of gains, especially Maddie & Tae as they rebound after last week was kind of slow. Rounding out the Top 20 looks to be Kane Brown and Ashley McBryde, as both start to pick up Top 20 conversions.
Below the Top 20, Tim McGraw continues to wait out, after hitting the top 20 on mediabase last week Chase Rice “Lonely If You Are” is starting to pick up top 20 conversions time will tell how long this lasts but I suspect the label may be in this for the long haul. After a rather sluggish start Jason Aldean is finally starting to take off with “Got What I Got”. While Brad Paisley had a very slow week this week as he also stands a decent chance of having Jameson Rodgers getting back ahead of him. Kip Moore pretty much stays static this week with “She’s Mine”. While HARDY/Lauren Alaina/Devin Dawson see a solid week continuing to slowly take off in the Top 30. I would also expect Lee Brice to knock Gone West out of the Top 30 as “One Of Them Girls” continues to do really well for a Lee Brice single.
Speaking of Gone West with their album now out and potentially out of the Top 30 this week, I think the end is near for their debut single. Lady A continues to do well with “Champagne Night” breezing pretty well through the 30s. While with “Lovin On You” announced as his next single, Luke Combs' other song on the chart “Six Feet Apart” begins to fade away. The last spot in the Top 40 looks to be a close battle between Russell Dickerosn “Love You Like I Used To”, Lauren Alaina “Getting Good”, and Morgan Wallen “More Than My Hometown”.
Luke Combs should see a Top 50 debut with his new single, Kelsea Ballerini is off to a decent start and a much better start than her last single, and Gabby Barrett should just sneak in a debut at the bottom of the chart with her sophomore single “The Good Ones”
Songs I see Leaving Soon Travis Denning “After A Few” Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani “Nobody But You” Carrie Underwood “Drinking Alone” Gone West “What Could’ve Been” Luke Combs “Six Feet Apart” Drew Baldridge “Senior Year”
Songs In Danger Keith Urban “God Whispered Your Name” Kip Moore “She’s Mine Midland “Cheating Songs” Chris Lane “Big Big Plans”
Songs I See Debuting/Returning Soon[ Ingrid Andress “The Stranger" Tyler Farr "Only Truck In Town" Cole Swindell “Single Saturday Night” Brantley Gilbert “Hard Days”
Closing Thoughts[/u] With Travis Denning looking like a sure bet to go recurrent next week the chart should see a little movement. now what is more interesting is seeing if any of the songs that have been struggling for a while now (Carrie Underwood, Gone West, maybe Chris Lane) or if songs that are more circumstantial (“Worldwide Beautiful”, “Six Feet Apart”, and “Senior Year) will go recurrent. Or both? Regardless next week we should see the charts have some movement and with some luck we have a mini chart sweep on our hands.

Commentary/Highlights No commentary this week, just going to let the chart speak for itself
Songs I see Leaving Soon Carly Pearce & Lee Brice “I Hope You’re Happy Now” Luke Combs & Eric Church “Does To Me” Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani “Nobody But You” Luke Combs “Six Feet Apart”
Songs In Danger Florida Georgia Line “I Love My Country Kip Moore “She’s Mine” Jon Langston “Now You Know” Chris Lane “Big Big Plans” Lauren Alaina “Getting Good” Brett Eldredge “Gabrielle”
Songs I See Debuting/Returning Soon Cole Swindell “Single Saturday Night” Stephanie Quayle “Whatcha Drinkin Bout” Tyler Farr “Only Truck In Town”
Closing Thoughts Hopefully this week the charts will open up a little bit. Having both the huge iHeartMedia debut from Rascal Flatts and Luke Combs per usual just surging up the charts did set things back a little bit. clever with Carly Pearce guarantees leave next week and both former number ones from Blake Shelton and Luke Combs also look to slowly trickle out. Not to mention “Six Feet Apart” heading out, the charts should see some form of normalcy as there aren't really any big singles about to be released soon. maybe Blake Shelton has something new coming but that would probably be it.

Yeah my predictions were way off and last week's predictions rightfully don't deserve a like since I pretty much failed on all accounts for my predictions. Fuck that post looks like horse shit. That being said *fingers crossed* this week finally gives us the long and overdue house cleaning as I do think Travis Denning and Carly Pearce will drop out of the chart. I could see maybe one of "Nobody But You"/"Does To Me" dropping out of the Top 10 as well. Also these songs need to re-bullet in order to stay on the chart or they will be off the chart. Chase Rice "Lonely If You Are" Midland "Cheating Songs" Jon Langston "Now You Know" Luke Combs "Six Feet Apart" So we could see anywhere from 2 to 7 songs going recurrent next week. Which would definitely help the charts out especially since Eric Church is scheduled to have an iHeartMedia debut (Yay another song to further block and slow down all the songs below the Top 30 ) this week.

I hope all 4 of Travis, Carly & Lee, Blake & Gwen and Luke & Eric fall off the chart next week. I like all 4 songs but since they already hit the top I am ready to see some others (mainly “Be A Light”, “Why We Drink”, “One Night Standards” and “Die From A Broken Heart”) advance and near the top 10.
It would also be helpful if both Chase and Jon Langston were to go recurrent since they have been on the chart for so long.
Also, I love “Six Feet Apart” and it would’ve been cool to see it make it higher than the 30’s but since “Lovin’ On You” is Luke’s single now I don’t think that is going to happen and since that isn’t going to happen I think I’d rather it just go recurrent than linger in the 40’s.
I am expecting a high debut from Eric Church next week. Rascal Flatts entered the chart tonight at #24 and Eric is releasing a day earlier in the week and I think he will have more plays in that first weekend. That along with a good possibility of 3 songs leaving from the top 10, and maybe 4 from the top 20 makes me think he could enter in the 18-20 range of the chart.

It would be nice to see a lot of the former #1s go next week. Something has to be done about how long it takes a song to climb the charts and peak. 50-60 week runs are ridiculous. I hope the radio industry starts to do something differently.

What I don’t like about Billboard is the new songs that get iHeartRadio treatment and the other radio stations playing them like their already a big hit. I miss the old Airplay days where songs just casually debuted unless they were an A list artist but sometimes A listers always didn’t get big debuts either. For instance Rascal Flatts will probably completely drop off the chart after this week. Brett Young debuted in the top 40 with “Lady” and hasn’t been close to the top 40 since. I also agree that they need to change the recurrent rules. I think a song needs to drop off in the top 10 after it’s below top 5. There’s great songs outside the top 40 that deserve to be in the top 40 now. LANCO, Brantley, Jake, Gabby, Brothers Osborne just to name a few. Also if they changed the recurrent rules maybe Scotty and Travis wouldn’t have taken as long to reach #1.

Yeah it is a bit hyperbolic to say Rascal Flatts will drop out of the Billboard chart when it has gained 1.5 million in audience since Friday. Will the song have a nasty fall? Yes but it will be on the chart next week 2. I personally think the recurrent rule itself is fine, it's just that we have 3 songs ("Chasin You", "Nobody But You", "Does To Me") that have just connected on such a level it makes sense why country radio is really slow to drop those songs. Songs that test, sell and stream well do deserve longevity on the charts. That is more than fair. It makes no sense to fault country radio for to keep playing songs that have connected this well even after promo was dropped.

I think part of the problem is the application of the rule. I would like to see it followed more strictly. No more of allowing songs to return after going recurrent, or giving 'grace' weeks. I think that would speed things up somewhat.

Yeah, I'm with raylatch98 sending things recurrent that are in the top 10, is rather silly. We want to know what the truly big hits are. I think the bigger issue is how long songs just sort of sit in neutral, especially outside the top 20.

Makes sense what you say but wasn’t the Carly/Lee song selling well and it dropped from 1 to 10. Flatts are definitely selling well right now #2 all genre on iTunes but yet it’s going to fall hard next week. Anyways I understand what you’re saying about the rules so maybe they should make a rule saying if the song hasn’t entered the top 10 by 50 weeks it should go recurrent? Maybe that would be a better rule.

Anyways I understand what you’re saying about the rules so maybe they should make a rule saying if the song hasn’t entered the top 10 by 50 weeks it should go recurrent? Maybe that would be a better rule. Carly/Lee fell hard because of mediocre testing and well a female voice being attached to it. Rascal Flatts song is at least gaining enough to where it should be on the chart and while it will fall, my general point was that you were kind of exaggerating how hard it would fall. Honestly I think the charts aren't the issue since it only makes sense why when singes from LoCash, Travis Denning, and Scotty McCreery are gaining well in the 50+ weeks they'd keep it on. I blame the labels and radio for enabling the songs to go up so high and spend so many weeks on the chart, I think labels should have the rule of 50 weeks maximum of promo and however the song ends up that is where it peaks, after 50 weeks you give the green light to country radio to drop the song.

Commentary/Highlights The charts this week is a nice breather as there are a lot of shifting parts and we continued to clear the charts out a bit more.
At the top should be Kenny Chesney with “Here and Now” his first #1 since 2018 with “Get Along”. With Luke Bryan in the runner up spot looking to spend the next 2 weeks at #1 with “One Margarita”, Morgan Wallen should spend yet another week at #3 as “Chasin’ You” has remarkable staying power. Rounding out the Top 5 look to be future #1s from Sam Hunt and Miranda Lambert, which speaking of Miranda, this will be her first time in the Top 5 with one of her own singles since “Automatic” back in 2014.
Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani continue to have real impressive staying power as they should move back up to #6. They are still falling so they could go out next week due to the spin clause. Chris Janson, LoCash, and out of nowhere Maddie & Tae should all blast into the Top 10 with Chris Janson and Maddie & Tae especially really taking off with their singles and both look like locks for #1. Spending their last week should be the duet “Does To Me” by Luke Combs/Eric Church.
Just below the Top 10 should be Justin Moore and Thomas Rhett & Co as “Why We Drink” also really hits the accelerator button. With all these songs launching into or near the Top 10 it has left singles from Florida Georgia Line and Keith Urban picking up the scraps as both are starting to look like weak links in the Top 15 especially Keith Urban. As obviously seen here Scotty McCreey “In Between” descended off the top spot like a rock freefalling out of the sky after hitting #1 last week. Kane Brown should be just outside the Top 15 as “Cool Again” is comfortably in between the FGL & Keith Urban side of the chart and Ashley McBryde/Tim McGraw side of the chart. Speaking of Ashley McBryde and Tim McGraw, both “One Nights Standards” and “I Called Mama” have great weeks. Rounding out the Top 20 should be Chase Rice “Lonely if You Are” and Jameson Rodgers “Some Girls” as Chase Rice rebounds very well and Jameson Rodgers keeps picking up more and more momentum.
Luke Combs blasts into the Top 30 with “Lovin On You” as he and Jason Aldean have their eyes set on the Top 20. Eric Church should see a Top 25 debut as Brad Paisley continues to move a bit slower through the 20s compared to Matt Stell and Parker McCollum. Solid and stable weeks for Kip Moore “She’s Mine”, HARDY, Lauren Alaina (and Devin Dawson somewhere) “One Beer”, and especially Lee Brice “One Of Them Girls”. Last spot in the Top 30 looks to be a close battle between Old Dominion who had a really great week with “Some People Do”, Lady A who rebounded nicely this week with “Champagne Night”, and both of Midland “Cheating Songs” and Jon Pardi “It Ain’t Always The Cowboy” who have slow weeks.
Russell Dickerson looks to be starting to take off as Morgan Wallen also continues to gain well with “More Than My Hometown”. Jon Langston struggles big time this week as “Now You Know” continues to remain stuck in the high 30s of the chart. Slow but good enough weeks for singles from Dustin Lynch, Chris Lane, and Lauren Alaina
Finally in the 40s and 50s most songs, sans Zac Brown Band have slow weeks with Maren Morris, Jimmie Allen/Noah Cyrus, and Granger Smith in particular looking slow. Rascal Flatts experience their iHeartMedia hangover falling into the 40s as Brantley Gilbert re-enters with “Hard Days” and look for singles from Ryan Hurd and Ingrid Andress debut near the bottom of the chart.
Songs I see Leaving Soon Luke Combs & Eric Church “Does To Me” Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani “Nobody But You” Scotty McCreery “In Between”
Songs In Danger Florida Georgia Line “I Love My Country” Keith Urban “God Whispered Your Name” Kip Moore “She’s Mine” Jon Langston “Now You Know” Brett Eldredge “Gabrielle”
Songs I See Debuting/Returning Soon Cole Swindell “Single Saturday Night” Stephanie Quayle “Whatcha Drinkin Bout” Runaway June “We Were Rich”
Closing Thoughts This week and next week are the weeks needed to get the charts a bit higher and loose since the charts have been backed up for quite a while now. It will be interesting to see who begins to fall and look weak once Luke Combs, Blake Shelton, and Scotty McCreery clear out.

Just an observation I made earlier today: Kenny Chesney will become the first artist with #1s in the 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s.
