Safri Duo - Played-A-Live (The Bongo Song)

From Denmark the duos known as Safri Duo, this tribal drums/trance music was a big hit in Europe. It reached the top 10 in a lot of european countries in the year 2000 and even made it here in the west where it was big in Canada.

They still play this classic on Sirius BPM. It was nostagic for me because at its time, it was innovative due to the tribal drums fused with trance music and there wasn't anything like this at its time.

I loved this!! Such a dramatic, hard, driving track. I love the tribal drums. They seem out of place, yet they work perfectly. The melody is so beautiful.

I loved Aurora as well. Their first single "Hear You Calling" is a pretty song in addition to the Duran Duran cover (I always preferred the En-Motion mix of HYC over the original version)

I have been hearing this in various virtual DJ sets lately and have heard some of the remixes a lot more now than I had when this first came out. I was aware of the Airscape mix back in the day but I have grown to like the Darude vs. JS16 and Nick Sentience ones too. The Nick one is such a hard, driving one.
