Okay. Radio was stupid enough to let Tough slip and fall out. If this doesn't take off, I'll be pissed. This is flawless. :o Radio has let alot of flawless songs slip thru the cracks in 2011. Its the worst year in a long time for "missed opportunities" of songs not getting the respect they deserve in favor of playing a select few artists over and over again for months at a time. "Tough" is one of the best examples of that. Lets hope some of these PDs come to their senses in 2012 and give more artists/songs a fair chance at play, including Kellie. But after this year, I'm not holding my breath. Kellie really deserves to have a "Miranda" moment with her new album!

I wonder if Kellie was a songwriter on this?

Nah. It was written by Leslie Satcher & James Slater.

I'm ready for radio to break Kellie with this single. This is the kinda song that I wanna hear all the time when I turn on the radio. 2012 needs to be Kellie Pickler's year! Time for Kellie's Revolution. Nah. It was written by Leslie Satcher & James Slater. Not surprising; Leslie Satcher is a good songwriter. I've seen her name associated to quite a few songs with great lyrics.

Love love love this! First listen and I was hooked. Honestly Tough should have been a hit, and if this fail's to hit big then they might as well give up...and I might as well give up on Country radio :(

Loving this single...I also enjoy what I've heard of the rocking chair song. I think this will be great album.

I sincerely hope this breaks Kellie through. It's amazing and very relatable if you ask me. I'd love for this to hit #1, but in actuality anything beyond top 10 would be good enough for me.

According to a post from Kellie on Twitter, you can get this song for free immediately on iTunes by pre-ordering "100 Proof" on Tuesday.

Hate to be devils advocate here but I just can't see radio picking this up...she is struggling in radio land with her last two songs not even cracking the top 25...I am not saying this is a bad song, I think she killed it, but with radio on a don't play kellie parade I do not think this is the song that will change the corner...I think honesty although I like the lyric it can be a little confusing especially with the 100 proof part

You'll be paying for it as part of the album. You'll get "100 Proof" now and get the rest of the album when its released (being charged the difference at that point).

If only 1 female can really breakthrough in 2012 I hope that it's Kellie. I like alot of her songs. "Tough" should've gone top 10.

So friggin' happy she got Frank Liddell for this album. The production sounds amazing!
And this is totally the style of music she needs to be doing. Everything included, it's easily her best song yet, IMO.

I don't see why it is so hard for people to not misspell her name on stuff. It's so obvious to me when I see it, so why can't these people clue in? It could be worse though. No one quite gets butchered in the name spelling department like LeAnn Rimes or Lee Ann Womack.

That's because she's proofreading it. *ducks* It could be worse though. No one quite gets butchered in the name spelling department like LeAnn Rimes or Lee Ann Womack. Or Trace Adkins vs. Rodney Atkins.

Kellie's website offers an exclusive listen to another song off of 100 Proof, called 'Unlock That Honky Tonk' here.

It's hard for me, as such a die-hard Pickler fan, to imagine her voice getting any better, but she is clearly raising the bar with her vocals on the new album. This song sounds amazing, and her attitude really sells this one. I love what I'm hearing. This album will no-doubt be my #1 release of 2012.

I really love this song - she sounds absolutely gorgeous on it & I love the production, too. Is there an adds date for this yet?

I haven't really liked anything by Pickler since Red High Heels, but this is really, really good. Shades of early Martina McBride (her voice isn't quite on that level, but it's quite good). Good hook, from what I could tell pretty strong lyrics, and an overall excellent song. If this doesn't break her into the Top 5, i don't think she ever will.

"Unlock That Honky Tonk" is fantastic. The great thing about this new material is that it's actually suited to her voice. The stuff on particularly "Kellie Pickler" was not necessarily Kellie. They hit a bullseye this time around - I'm so glad to hear more traditional sounding stuff.

Leslie Satcher is one of my two favorite songwriters nowadays (with Darrell Scott). "Proof" is a unit of measure for alcohol. 100 proof alcohol = 50% alcohol, since pure alcohol is 200 proof. But their love, we imagine, is 100% true.

^I thought Satcher misfired with "For These Times", but I agree that she's otherwise great. "I Said a Prayer" and "When God-Fearin' Women Get the Blues" alone are highlights. Likewise, "It's a Great Day to Be Alive" alone is enough for me to sing the praises of Darrell Scott. Although in my opinion we really, really need more Mac McAnally songs, and I sure wouldn't mind if people dusted off some of the obscurities in the Dennis Linde catalog.
If "Tough" and now "100 Proof" are indicative of Kellie's musical future, then I'm all for it. Maybe then she can finally afford to buy brain cells.
