The first 2:50 was me without my coffee, dead to the world. You could feel the energy pick up after Britney showed up lbr here , but yeah I guess she is the walking "zombie" I co-sign this...and yet would and likely will still shell out a shit ton of money to see her in Vegas. Even zombie Britney shits on most others.

I'll pay to see Britney any day, the other one in the video not so much. You see her type in downtown Toronto everyday.

I was looking back in the Circus era thread and it's almost heartbreaking to compare that album/era to Britney Jean.
I don't know if I'll ever get over how much of a mess this era was apart from "Work Bitch" and it's video.
Oh well, at least she's killing it in Vegas.

"Vertigo" demo (it's not Britney on it but it was a demo for her): https%3A//soundcloud.com/rebellionforum/britney-spears-vertigo-full-track

May be in the minority here, but I really don't think ditching RCA would be the answer. The problem with the BJ era was Britney herself. She probably had the option to do things a lot differently before the era even began, but just didn't want to. She's inside a comfort zone that she has no intentions of leaving any time soon. So it's not gonna matter what label she is with at this point.

RCA is basically the worst possible label for Britney. Their style of promotion, which includes a wait forever and see mentality with almost all of their artists, is the exact opposite of what Britney needs. She's not going to promote. But a label can still make singles hit songs...especially Britney singles. RCA is simply not going to do that. But other labels almost specialize in doing a lot with a little.

RCA is absolutely not where she needs to be, but I'm not so sure she cares enough to go through the process of switching. I think Interscope could potentially provide her another successful album, but I wouldn't trust Capitol to service her very well. Universal wouldn't be catastrophic. There's really not a "perfect" label in the biz for her right now.

I think both could be great for her, particularly Interscope. Capitol invests so much time and promo in Katy, and I can def see them doing the same for Brit. That label sure knows how to play the game

I think Epic could work really well with her too. I know, I know. Epic! But, she seems to have a great relationship with L.A. Reed and I think he would be smitten if he got his hands on someone like her. She would instantly become the most important, highest priority artist for the label - much like Jive. Look at all the resources they threw at Avril Lavigne, for little to no return on the investment. If something flops, they'll keep trying until something hits (or doesn't). They don't have the best track record, but I think they could make magic together.
RCA is just the complete opposite of what Britney needs right now. She needs fantastic A/R people that have her as the top priority. She needs a label head that gives her creative freedom and control. She needs radio on her side again and that can happen with the right song and right label promo - with little extra input from the artist. RCA simply doesn't have any of these things for her. It has the complete opposite in most cases.

Can't they get Lana's team to work for Britney? They seem to be great in handling artists who don't like to promote outside of music videos and touring while still making sure Lana gets to release what she actually wants to release.

She needs fantastic A/R people This right here. If she chooses to go to another label, it needs to be one where someone else other than her own people are her A&R. Adam (and Larry) should be minimally involved in the creative/musical aspect of her career, if at all. They should stick the business aspect and let someone who knows what they're doing be Britney's A&R. I've said this previously, but having someone like Teresa LaBarbera Whites (who has the experience and knows what she's doing) as her A&R was a great asset to Britney. Also, I don't think Katy Perry's success is any sort of evidence that Capitol would be a good fit for Britney since Katy actually promotes her music. The type of success Katy has is dependent on both the label and the artist putting in the promotional work. Britney didn't even bother to perform the week of the album release (or at all) to promote BJ. How is Capitol going to be great for her, when half the formula to Katy's commercial success (the artist promoting) is missing? As a side note, Frances Bean Cobain (Kurt Cobain's daughter) is a fan of Britney: Source

Epic would be the worst label ever to be on. I mimic whoever said she needs better A&R people. Clearly working solely with will.i.am just isn't going to cut it. At this point I'm not expecting a new album for years, if ever, so whatever. ![](http://images.proboards.com/tongue.gif) Oh, on top of the fact that she's not going to leave RCA lol.

I don't think she'll ever stop recording altogether, but I could see her giving up touring, promoting, public appearances, etc. We're never getting anther Blackout though, that needs to be laid to rest.
I would love for her to, at some point, do something really experimental-- like, weird s**t experimental-- where she just kind of abandons the pop star image altogether. I get that a very large part of her charm is that she hasn't done that, and I'm not expecting it, but I think it would be great for her to finally make some kind of artistic statement musically.

The 'Work Bitch' stems just leaked. Let's see how long it takes me to get arrested for sending Myah Marie Britney's Team death threats for how much she's featured on the vocal track.
Absolutely crying at there only being 45 stems to the song. 'If U Seek Amy' had like... 70. Hell, I think 'I'm a Slave 4 U' had just as many and that was 14 years ago. MESS.

Absolutely crying at there only being 45 stems to the track. 'If U Seek Amy' had like... 70. Hell, I think 'I'm a Slave 4 U' had just as many and that was 14 years ago. MESS. I'm not sure what stems exactly mean and why does the number make a difference, can you explain please?! :) Stems are the various tracks that make up the song. An acapella can have around 10-12, for example. These include the Lead Verse (lead vocals for the verses), Dup Chorus (a duplicate, slightly offset lead acapella of the chorus to add depth and texture), Backup Chorus 2 (backup vocals for the second chorus), etc. A simpler way of putting it is that each and every instrument is made its own track. If you put all of them together, you'd have the (unmixed) version of 'Work Bitch'. The number usually indicates the amount of work that went into producing it, because each stem is a specific instrument or vocal. I haven't seen the stems yet, so some of them may be packaged together. 45 isn't exactly a low number, and we knew 'Work Bitch' was a very minimalist track as is, but the fact that just as many instruments were used now as they were when 'I'm a Slave 4 U' was produced back in 2000 when technology wasn't nearly as advanced tells me they didn't work very hard on the track-- how ironic. Of course, that isn't always telling, because it doesn't account for how much time was spent augmenting each individual instrument to get the right sound. I think 'Gimme More' has less, now that I think about it.
