Not to mention, "Long Live" wasn't even their last single, as they had "Lil Bit" in between that release and even though it didn't do much @ country radio, it was a big crossover hit and honestly their biggest hit overall in years. And I wouldn't be surprised to see at least 1 more single from the record since it isn't that old yet.

Any word on the next single from Blake Shelton? Feels like “Minimum Wage” has been off the chart for a while now… definitely been a while. I’m guessing it will be a new song (maybe his “vow” song) and they’ll do a deluxe version of body language, or just move on from the album all together. |

^ If it is, that'll be disappointing that they had some obvious hits on the record and went with "Dancing in the Living Room" instead which I can imagine having a harder time at radio. *sigh*

Is it just me or are the upcoming singles going for adds in country radio quite dry? Like the only relevant artists going for adds in next 3 weeks are Dillon Carmichael and Brett Young.
Golden timing for women (e.g. Lainey Wilson, Ingrid Andress, Mickey Guyton, Danielle Bradbery) to go for adds, just like Hannah Ellis having no competition at all and got most added for debut single this week.

I think everything they've put out since their last album has been fine. "Mood Ring" was the weakest for me of the 4 new tracks, and I'd still rank it above at least about 3 of the songs they included on The Way It Feels. "Woman You Got" and "Life Ain't Fair" are total jams, and I'm liking "Madness" so far. I'm surprised to see several people continue to feel like they've made some odd departure from their sound because their recent stuff sounds like solid efforts that are right in their wheelhouse imo. /shrug

I do think their new material is a departure from their first album which was very neo traditional country with tons of fiddle and steel guitar compared to their newer material (including their last album) which overall is definitely more in the pop-country side of the spectrum imo

The next Lainey Wilson single will be a new, unheard song. As much as I would've loved to see something like "Neon Diamonds" as a single, I am excited to hear brand new music and think that moving on to something fresh is probably a good idea to capitalize on her momentum. It also means that there's a chance "Two Story House" can be tacked onto her next album when it materializes and then there's at least some hope I can keep alive that it'll be a future single, lol. |
