Have listened to the prerelease a couple of times now. The album isn't amazing, but I definitely like it much more than the clips made me believe. I would rank them...
01. Reason to Believe 02. Tonight 03. Lay It Down 04. I'm Not Looking Down 05. Something Beautiful 06. With All My Soul 07. When You Hold Me 08. Prayer to Love 09. Supernatural 10. This Love

Glad to hear it's better than the clips. I sort of can't wait for it to be released. :) I need to save my money for the nu La Toya Jackson CD though...

I don't know how well I'm going to be able to summarize my thoughts after only a few listens, but I shall try. At this point, I like BHG more than I thought I was going to but still not nearly enough to be very excited about it. Before I heard a single clip, I was expecting a mix of harder guitar and a more organic approach to this album. She went in a more noise pop-inspired direction than I anticipated, and it works okay. To me, the upbeat tracks sound like less adventerous Flaming Lips and the mellow tracks make me think of not-as-well-written Ron Sexsmith. So in other words, I now have a generic version of some of the CDs I own! LOL. Were I not already a fan of those artists, I would probably be in love with this album, just because I wouldn't be aware of what I was missing yet. Considering I assume most Jaci fans aren't listening to the indie artists she kept mentioning, I feel her only hope of making much of a sales impact is if those fans that are used to the straight up pop latch on to BHG, since it's not as crazy as, say, a Radiohead record and it would be a nice stepping stone to introduce them to a new sound. I don't see it happening, simply because I have no faith in the musical tastes of fans of the mainstream. LOL. So basically, this album sounds like a bridge to me. If people are blown away by it and then find out about the music that actually inspired it, BHG is gonna sound a lot less interesting than it first did. But if Jaci gets another chance to keep following this path, this could just be the first plank in the bridge. I basically feel it's not adventerous enough for the indie fans and not plain enough to appeal to the pop crowd, but I applaud her for trying something different for her. Reason to Believe 5/5 Tonight 4/5 Lay It Down 4/5 I'm Not Looking Down 3/5 Something Beautiful 3/5 With All My Soul 3/5 When You Hold Me 3/5 Prayer to Love 2/5 Supernatural 2/5 This Love 2/5 And just because I love complaining, I must mention that the album's official bio is one of the most unprofessional I've seen. Words are used in completely incorrect ways, the punctuation is terrible, etc. I sure hope it gets rewritten once the new official site goes up.

Wait...Heather?! :o I haven't gotten this album yet. I ordered the "Tonight" mp3 off Walmart music downloads. But that's it. I'll get it when it's cheap enough on Ebay or something.

Haha, sorry. I'm trying to keep my two different site personas seperate. Don't ask me why, I have no clue.
All I had heard is that it debuted at #7 on the Soundscan Christian Chart. I really would like to see actual sales, but so far no luck. Are those numbers for her second week?
