Here's today's radio interview in full, KTOM must have shortened the interview they aired this morning b/c this one is a bit longer:
It's essentially the same but she talks about "Good Girl" in greater depth at 0:36 - 1:01 & 4:02 - 5:30.

Interesting that she references Keith Urban in regards to the chorus of Good Girl. I'm not sure I hear it, but I'll definitely listen for that the next time I listen to the song.

"Good Girl" debuts at #30 on tonight's 3/10 Billboard chart, as the Most Added/Greatest Gainer/Hot Shot Debut. There was this huge ad for it as well:

This song is expected to jump from #30 to the mid-teens in the next week. In 9 days, it will be halfway to the top. Incredible. Just in case this hasn't been reported yet, this is currently available on UK iTunes. :) Yay! Was CC ever released to the UK iTunes as a solo single release? I don't remember...

The last of the three Tedder co-writes has finally been registered over at ASCAP: "Fall" - Hillary Lindsey / Ryan Tedder / Carrie Underwood I think it's important to note that "Fall" was registered by Tedder, whereas "Good In Goodbye" & "A Thousand Other Guys" were registered by Lindsey. From the looks of it, most of the stuff Tedder registers ends up getting a release. I'm thinking this one probably made the album.

Where did GG land on the Hot 100? Anyone know? We'll find that out Wednesday night at the earliest. Unless I'm mistaken, the Hot 100 Airplay week ends on Tuesday, while digital sales ended on Sunday.

Where did GG land on the Hot 100? Anyone know? Doesn't that come out on Wednesday (or are you asking if it "leaked" in advance of the usual article)?

Got it; thanks Trombones & Gravity. I'm not familiar w/ the Hot 100, so I thought it came out with all the other country charts (since the country chart for 3/10 was released today).

I'd really love a sweeping/epic pop ballad a la "Starts With Goodbye" or "Sometimes You Leave" on the next record. "Play On" was lacking in that regard for me (thought WCIS came close). I hope one of the Tedder tracks fills that void that was absent on the last record.

Simon Cowel talking about the X Factor as compared to Idol: He mentions Carrie.
REALITY ROCKS: One thing I think sets "The X Factor" apart from "Idol" is it is less whitewashed. In recent seasons, R&B and African-American contestants have been shockingly under-represented on "Idol"; this year, there are only three black contestants, who sing R&B, in the entire top 24. But R&B and hip-hop were well-represented on "The X Factor" last year.
SIMON: Well, to be honest, we never really go into it going, "We're going to end up with this percentage." We base it purely on talent. And Astro, for instance, was there because we just thought he was super-talented. No other show had put something like him on, but thought we could make him look great on the show, which we did. But I go into it this year with a completely open mind. I mean, I was always accused by some of the people at "Idol" that I hate country music. I don't listen to it, but when Carrie Underwood came onto the show, I was the first person to say, from the get-go, that this girl was going to sell more records than any of the previous contestants. Because I do know stars. I could care less if she was singing country or pop; she was a star. So I'm open to all genres of music, but it will always be based on, can you sell records? That's the only criteria, and you never know what mix you are going to end up with. I like to think we're about as open-minded as you can possibly get.

I wish she'd make one now, with Good Girl, and another one on the finale, when her album is out and most likely on it's second single!!

Not bad, Carrie. My favorite part is the "Gooooo..." section and the a capella ending.

Carrie blogged!
Basically, she talked about the fashion show last night. She then went into how the album artwork and title will surface very soon, and she's having trouble keeping it all under wraps. She even slipped the title to one guy, but he promised not to reveal it. She said they're going to try a "cool" approach to announcing the details. To be honest, I'm not sure what she means by that. Nevertheless, the album artwork and title will be announced very soon. She's also thrilled with GG's reception...

It's cool that they're not just doing a lame press release to reveal everything. Any ideas of how they'll do it?

Idol's FB says: "Just 3 days after its release, Carrie Underwood's "Good Girl" debuts at #1 on the Billboard charts!"
What chart could this possibly have gone to #1 on? Is there a separate chart for Country Digital songs? I always thought that would be unfair, there isn't a separate digital chart for other genres, is there?

Yes, there are digital song charts for other genres, even for Christian songs, it's just that most of them don't get much play. But they do count toward all the #1s (over 300+) from different Idol stars.

So Carrie debuted at #1 on the Country Digital charts, yes? :) Great sales opening! It nearly matched CC's opening sales in less than half of the amount of time that CC had in its debut release! Oh, and spoiler has it that a Carrie song is going to be covered tonight on Idol by contestant Chelsea Sorrell.
