One of the most underrated Whitney singles IMO. The Diane Warren penned ballad managed top 10 on AC, but didn't get much of anything else. It was the 5th and final single from the MYIYL era. The strangth of the single sales helped it get to #27 on the Hot 100.
Billboard peaks:
Hot 100: #27 Hot 100 Airplay: #71 Hot 100 Sales: #8 AC: #10 R&B: #24 Dance: #1

This was her last ballad single I liked. Great song.
Music video
The HQ2 remix was excellent too.

Loved this song and the video was great too. I always thought of this as her lost gem in single releases.

This might actually be my favorite Whitney single. So underrated.

I really liked this. It was probably the last Diane Warren song I liked until Paloma Faith's Only Love Can Hurt Like This last year.

I was so into this! A standout on that album. And the HQ2 and Junior Vasquez remixes both did it for me, too.

Although it's one of those Whitney songs I don't play too often, in fact it's rarely that I actively seek it out, I LOVE it.

Love it! She ATE this performance: She did!! and I'm not sure if you ever heard it but the resung dance mix (junior Vasquez disco mix) used a very similar long run for the note "Goodbye". Whitney redid the 2nd verse and some of the bridge and extra adlibs.

This is one of many Whitney songs I love. The lyrics are amazing. And Whitney sings the hell out of it. I adore the Junior Vasquez Disco mix. Junior also did a private version of this which weaves in samples of Evelyn "Champagne" King's "Shame". The keys don't quite match up correctly but in a club environment, it sounds okay. I'm not sure if you ever heard it but the resung dance mix (junior Vasquez disco mix) used a very similar long run for the note "Goodbye". Whitney redid the 2nd verse and some of the bridge and extra adlibs. I love the Disco mixes him and Gomi did for that. It was exactly what the song needed. In an interview, Junior mentioned that the label wanted a big, over the top remix which is what the other Millenium mixes were (fun fact: the riff that runs through the mix after the key change is the same one heard in Mary J. Blige's "Your Child" remix that Junior did around that time).

My biggest days of going out and needing all the club mixes of the day was probably 95-2003-5.

The full one is 12 minutes long. The only major differences are that some of the longer drawn out sections were shortened.

That was one mix that I remember not wishing or caring if there was an edit out there. Vernessa Mitchell's "This Joy" was another one. It could have went on and on and I wouldn't have minded. I always preferred the full mix to Whitney's "It's Not Right but It's Ok" over the radio edit.

Beautiful and introspective song. This is such a gem and I wish it had done better though I'm glad this eventually became a single. Love the video too.

This has always been my favorite song from the MLIYL album. I love all of the official remixes too, (which never happens).

Love this. This should have been a much bigger hit than it was. Though as a fifth single, it probably did what could have been expected.

Criminally underrated, right up there with her best ballads. Diane did her thing with this one. And Whitney gave it just the right amount of grit/attitude.
The club mixes killed.
