Nobody asked for this.
She is one of the most unlikable "celebrities" I've ever come across. There's a reason they never took off.

Does anyone even know her enough to dislike her though?? Seriously, I wouldn't recognize her if she was standing in front of me.

EP 1 is out, and it should be noted that Amy did not go solo. Karmin just rebranded as Qveen Herby. Nick is now solely the producer in the back and Amy is the face and vocalist.
The EP is very hip-hop oriented. I actually really like it a lot more than I thought I would. I still think the acoustic indie pop of Leo Rising fit them the best, but I'm here for this new sound and image change. Except for the name. Qveen Herby is terrible. First off, Qveen? What's with the "V"? Secondly, Herby? Did we just pull names out of a hat?

They should've just stayed as Karmin. Most people didn't know he did vocals, anyway.

The EP is very hip-hop oriented. I wasn't going to pay this any mind (never got into Karmin much) until I saw you say this. I gave it a listen and I have to say a) I really like it and b) this EP really spotlights why they never took off in the first place; they were doing the wrong thing. Karmin was discovered because of the fascination of a white girl being able to rap on par with a bunch of hip-hop guys, and I think something along the lines of EP 1 is what most people were expecting or wanting from them because of that. Instead we got a really uninteresting attempt at making them a pop duo and that sucked up whatever swagger Amy might have had. I'll have to check out Leo Rising because I do like acoustic pop, but the sound of this EP is where they always should have been IMO. Also, IDK who told her the look in the Busta Rhymes video matches the song but they lied to her. The wardrobe is on point but the makeup and the glasses make her look like a 65 year old librarian from 1952.

Whoever let them rebrand to this name and aesthetics did them wrong. She looks like the most insufferable kind of Brooklyn white girl hipster. There's an unearned pretentiousness to it.
I agree with @antigonerising that this is the sound they should have been doing the whole time. Their brand of radio-ready pop was bland and uneventful, but I actually like most of what's on this EP. It goes back to their original viral videos and what made them somewhat interesting.

I loved Karmin, but this Qveen Herby stuff is not my thing at all. I also hate that they 'rebranded' to this. On FB, I liked Karmin. Not Qveen Herby

I have no fucking clue Karmin was a duo I thought it was Amy's stage name so they rebranding it as a solo act doesn't make difference for me ?

Another solid EP! "Beverly Hills," "$ip," and "Alone" are the highlights. Her vocals take on a bit of an Alica Keys vibe in "Alone."

Honestly, we should probably create a new thread for all of Qveen Herby's releases. Shockingly, we've been using this Karmin thread since their debut EP era and just have kept trucking through all of their/her releases in this same thread even though Qveen Herby's style is vastly different from Karmin's. (Or at least let's get a thread title change!)
Anyway, EP 5...
1. My Man - She seems to be using a weird accent in parts of this track, which is sort of off-putting, but the production is slick and her vocals are on point in the singing parts/ad-libs! Average lyrics. 2. BDE - Too much singing for a track with this title, tbh. BUT THAT RAP VERSE SLAYS DAYUM! The lyrics in the rap verse are fucking fire too. I'm uncut, out of control Stroke of genius, 'bout to blow like you never seen before [...] You wanna be slick, but you could not fit So you better put it back in your sock, prick YAS, bitch, slay me! 3. Brunette Ambition - This production is so sexy, wow! "Pussy: my religion" is a mood. Love the "Humble is a pain, but a beast worth feeding" line. 4. 310 - Very solid hook, but the lyrics and production just aren't much more than "okay." Also weird to hear this track about LA after so many lyrics in her past about Nebraska. 5. On God - Weakest track on the EP, IMO. The production has some promising elements, but I feel it has too much going on. The hook is also wordy and tricky. Also "Get the cheddar like I'm Vermont" is such a strange line. Love the voice in the background, though.
Another solid EP from the Qveen. Not the best EP (EP 1 and 2 are still my favorites. 4 is a somewhat close third, though.) "BDE"'s rap verse is amazing, though, and is probably the highlight of her rap career thus far. (Though "SADE IN THE 90s" is still her best track, though that's an r&b track through-and-through, no rapping.)

Even though I find her new image/persona slightly cringey, I absolutely bop to a lot of her new music. This last EP is pretty good.
I hope she does a small tour again. I saw Karmin years ago and she is a hell of a performer.

Mozart is fucking baller. She really would put a damn harpsichord in a rap song.

Why can't her male counterpart just drop dem drawers for a photoshoot already? Every time I see this thread bumped, I think that's what's going on and...it NEVER IS.
