News exposure sells albums, it has been on the lower portions of the top 200 catalog chart recently with 2000 copies last chart and is now Madonna's top selling album of the week. The rise seems to tie to the exposure This would have been more successful if it had been done at the superbowl not some tiny show in turkey Super bowl is not the type of event for that behavior. I think the world already knows that though.

^^^Just shows when Madonna know's when to push those buttons...The Superbowl was def not something for that...and please...Madonna will be making headlines all summer with this tour...she will not stop here...im sure for the next few months there be taking about the new single..Turn up the Radio..which should spark sales of MDNA to some point...and of course Live Nation will surely be letting everyone know in music...that the MNDA TOUR is out selling every other solo artist out there...its Madonna's record anyway at 408 MILLION....so its not Madonna's breast that sells...its the music...it will always be about the music.

USA Today Idol Chatter column:
Only five American Idol acts have albums in the Billboard 200 chart this week. Carrie Underwood leads the pack, selling 24,000 copies of Blown Away, according to Nielsen SoundScan. After that, it's Kelly Clarkson's Stronger, Adam Lambert's Trespassing, Scotty McCreery's Clear as Day and Haley Reinhart's Listen Up!

You're right, should've paid attention to that But I still think it won't pass platinum very easily, still at least 500k to go. Carrie Underwood is now at 568k and her 2nd single is just starting to get airplay. Her tour and Christmas shopping will push this album past 1 million scanned. 2 million scanned would be nice, but it's doubtful now. I don't like Good Girl at all. I can't believe it went #1 on the Country chart.

^If we're just looking at pop radio, that may be accurate. "Shadow Days" ranks on the following 7-day-rolling Mediabase charts:
Hot AC: No. 15, 2,206 spins (-289)- 10.393m audience Triple-A: No. 20, 160 spins (-8)- 0.718m audience AC: No. 22, 173 spins (+22)- 1.914m audience
So, airplay on tow of the formats isn't that much, but the Hot AC airplay hasn't been terrible.

^ That's thanks to an Amazon sale: $4.99. I took part and bought a copy :) It was actually $2.99 for several days... that's why Justin, Alanis and Britney (and a few others) had sales boosts. I'm excited Alanis is back on the Billboard 200 with "The Collection" -- even if it's just one week. Jagged Little Pill returned two weeks ago, and her new album will be out in two months, so she will have three albums chart on the Billboard 200 this year
