Went to #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in July 1991.
This was UB40's 3rd Top 10.
UB40 only had 8 singles chart on the Hot 100.

This was a remake of an Al Green classic. This version was OK, but I much preferred the original.

The single first came out in January 1989 but didn't make noise until 2 years later.

Whenever I see a bunch of songs by one artist pop up to the top in this forum I assume someone died.
I love this song, though. It's in my top 3 for UB40 (after Kingston Town and If It Happens Again)

Whenever I see a bunch of songs by one artist pop up to the top in this forum I assume someone died. LOL, I always go looking to see if there's some sort of news about the artist out too. This is one of my favorite UB40 singles. Great song.

This is decent but my favorite from them is their cover of the Elvis tune "I Can't Help Falling in Love With You".

Love it. I don't understand why there is so much hate for these guys. Fun band in concert

30 years ago today, UB40's remake of Al Green's R&B classic "Here I Am (Come and Take Me)" reached its peak position at No.7 on the Hot 100 Singles chart, besting Al Green's No.10 peak in 1973. UB40 released "Here I Am (Come and Take Me)" as the 2nd single from their 9th album "Labour of Love II." And I love it!
