Why would they count those when he wasn't the lead artist? I love Eminem as much as the next, but don't be foolish trying to get him more records. 8 Mile soundtrack is credited to "Various Artists". Eminem does not even appear on 50%, and not even close to 50% of it. Devil's Night and D12 World are created to a group of D12 and once again, Eminem's vocal appearance is pretty much split ALMOST even with most members of the group. While he MIGHT be slightly more featured, his share is still like what, 15% of the total vocals on the cd? So why would he get a credit? Some people here............. You sure did get upset there! I was simply posing a question, not making any sort of accusation or argument. As for why he should (potentially) have 9/10 (thanks to slicknick) #1 albums, I think that's pretty obvious: all of those albums went number one BECAUSE of Eminem. The 2 D12 albums? Obviously they sold because it's Eminem's group. BME? Eminem is 1/2 of the group, so if Jay Z earned a #1 album from BoBW or WTT, then yes, Eminem should get one for BME. The only one that seems reasonable to not include is the 8 Mile soundtrack, for the reason you pointed out. Although, as I said, it clearly sold the way it did because of Eminem and the success of "Lose Yourself." Lastly, if your argument rests on the amount of time spent by the billed artist actually appearing on a track (i.e., they have a verse/vocal presence), then what would you say about someone like DJ Khaled? He literally says his name and maybe yells the name of the album on his tracks. That's it. He doesn't make the beats either. He just gets the artists together. While it is clear in my mind it sold because of Eminem. That's not how it's done. Now i loved all the member of D12 (RIP Proof) and most of them are pretty talented rappers in my mind. Clearly they would not have sold without Em. Eminem wasnt even initially going to be in D12. Bugz died and he therefore joined. Mr. Porter (Went by Kon Artis in D12) is a great producer. Proof is a great lyricist in his own right. Bizarre is clearly a shock rapper and has put out more solo albums then i ever imagined he would. Swifty and Kuniva well they are solid. Point is none of those would have selling power. 50 Cent and Obie Trice have been the best sellers on Shady (or when they were on Shady in Obie's case). I think it's a reasonable bet that without Em, D12 would have done the numbers Yellawolf is doing now and sadly what i feel Slaughterhouse will do. And Slaughterhouse has a lot of great lyrical ability. But still don't think it will show sales wise. Royce Da 5'9 was great on the Bad Meets Evil album but he wouldnt sell well on his own. Now i see your point. I mean when they give Jay Z credit for his #1 album with Linkin Park i roll my eyes but that somehow fits the standard of being able for Jay Z to claim it as his own. Same with the Watch the Throne album that for some reason Jay Z can claim as his own as well. It's all based on how you title the album i guess. But Jay Z getting credit for Watch The Throne being #1 and Eminem not when Bad Meets Evil hit #1 is hilarious imo. But as i said it's all in how you title it. Jay Z and Kanye West dont have a name. So therefore they each get Credit for a #1. Eminem and Royce Da 5'9 have a name so therefore they each don't get credit. It's funny to me. Eminem and Royce Da 5'9 get punished for having the creativity to come up with a name that Jay Z and Kanye West didnt. Then again as Eminem claims in my signature...His record still holds. Most Albums Sold In A Week By A Solo Artist. He Hit's Em Up.
