Early! New point/certification system! I'll explain it in another post. Also added the flashback to my video. February 3, 2013Ke$ha scores her second and second consecutive #1 as "C'mon" rises 4-1. "Die Young" spent two weeks at #1 in early November. It replaces Kendrick Lamar's "Swimming Pools (Drank)" which falls to #3. Next week will be another close race for "C'mon" with David Guetta's "She Wolf (Falling to Pieces)" (3-2) and Ed Sheeran's "Lego House". Meanwhile in the Top 10, The Secret State's "The Biggest Mistake" reaches a new peak of #5 from #9 last week. Also, Pitbull replaces himself in the Top 10. As "Don't Stop the Party" retreats 10-13, "Feel This Moment" rises 13-9. This is Pit's 6th Top 10, the second most for any artist, behind One Direction, who has 7 (3 of those were album tracks, so Pit would have the most with the new singles-only formula). Of Monsters and Men score their first Top 10 with "Little Talks" rising 15-10. Six songs debut this week, led by OneRepublic's "If I Lose Myself" at #40. OneRepublic charted with "Feel Again" (#17). Rihanna's "Pour It Up" debuts at #43. Rihanna charted with "We Found Love" (#7), "You da One" (#29), "Talk That Talk" (#5), "Birthday Cake" (#13), "Where Have You Been" (#9), and "Diamonds" (#5). Ne-Yo's "Forever Now" debuts at #46. Ne-Yo charted with "Lazy Love" (#14) and "Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself)" (#3). Nelly's "Hey Porsche" debuts at #47. Nelly charted with "The Champ" (#8). Gary Allan's "Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain)" debuts at #49, his first entry. 2 Chainz's "I'm Different" debuts at #50. 2 Chainz charted with "No Lie" (#4) and bubbled under with "Birthday Song" at the equivalent of #45. The biggest gains this week (5+) go to Krewella's "Alive" (44-27), DJ Pauly D's "Back to Love" (45-29), A$AP Rocky's "F**kin' Problems" (49-34), Justin Timberlake's "Suit & Tie" (50-39), Chris Richardson's "Joy & Pain" (29-20), Britt Nicole's "Gold" (41-33), Trey Songz's "Simply Amazing" (22-15), Chris Wallace's "Remember When (Push Rewind)" (30-23), Carrie Underwood's "Two Black Cadillacs" (32-26), Bruno Mars's "When I Was Your Man" (42-36), "Little Talks", Macklemore & Ryan Lewis's "Thrift Shop" (23-18), Olly Murs's "Troublemaker" (24-19), and Tim McGraw's "One of Those Nights" (40-35). Going recurrent this week are One Direction's "Little Things" (last week #35), Christina Aguilera's "Just a Fool" (#38), Matchbox Twenty's "Overjoyed" (#43), and Skye Stevens's "Rewind" (#47). Jason Aldean's "The Only Way I Know" (#36) and Owl City's "Shooting Star" (#46) are purged. 04 01 KE$HA C'mon 1 *2x Platinum*03 02 DAVID GUETTA She Wolf (Falling to Pieces) 2 *2x Platinum*01 03 KENDRICK LAMAR Swimming Pools (Drank) 1 *3x Platinum*02 04 ED SHEERAN Lego House 2 *2x Platinum*07 05 P!NK Try 5 *3x Platinum*09 06 THE SECRET STATE The Biggest Mistake 6 *Platinum*06 07 IMAGINE DRAGONS Radioactive 1 *3x Platinum*05 08 TAYLOR SWIFT I Knew You Were Trouble 1 *9x Platinum*13 09 PITBULL Feel This Moment 9 *Platinum*15 10 OF MONSTERS AND MEN Little Talks 10 *Platinum*08 11 THE CAB Endlessly *8x Platinum*12 12 CALVIN HARRIS Sweet Nothing 12 *2x Platinum*10 13 PITBULL Don't Stop the Party 10 *2x Platinum*16 14 JONN HART Who Booty 14 *Platinum*22 15 TREY SONGZ Simply Amazing 15 *Gold*11 16 SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA Don't You Worry Child 3 *6x Platinum*14 17 KELLY CLARKSON Catch My Breath 14 *2x Platinum*23 18 MACKLEMORE/RYAN LEWIS Thrift Shop *Platinum*24 19 OLLY MURS Troublemaker *Gold*29 20 CHRIS RICHARSIN Joy & Pain 20 *Gold*25 21 MAROON 5 Daylight 21 *Gold*20 22 WILL.I.AM Scream & Shout 8 *3x Platinum*30 23 CHRIS WALLACE Remember When (Push Rewind) 23 *Gold*28 24 CONOR MAYNARD Turn Around 24 *Gold*27 25 AUSTIN MAHONE Say You're Just a Friend 25 *Silver*32 26 CARRIE UNDERWOOD Two Black Cadillacs *Silver*44 27 KREWELLA Alive 27 19 28 LUPE FIASCO/GUY SEBASTIAN Battle Scars 1 *5x Platinum*45 29 DJ PAULY D Back to Love 29 18 30 WIZ KHALIFA Remember When 6 *2x Platinum*21 31 JUSTIN BIEBER Beauty and a Beat 1 *5x Platinum*17 32 CHRIS BROWN Don't Judge Me 5 *3x Platinum*41 33 BRITT NICOLE Gold 33 49 34 A$AP ROCKY F**kin' Problems 34 40 35 TIM MCGRAW One of Those Nights 35 42 36 BRUNO MARS When I Was Your Man 36 33 37 NEON TREES Lessons in Love (All Day, All Night) 33 *Silver*34 38 T.I. So with a lot of help from Josh, I applied a point system to my chart. It's basically the same as his, but adjusted for 50 positions. The system is triangular so basically #50= 1 #49= 1+2 #48= 1+2+3 .... #1= 1+2+...+49+50 This benefits songs that chart higher compared to songs that have longer runs. I put a formula (that josh gave me ) into Excel, and it calculated point totals. For the certification system, the first certification is Silver, which is obtained at 500 points. Gold is obtained at 1000. Platinum is obtained at 2000, and another level of Platinum is obtained every 2000 from then on. 20000 points certifies Diamond. Due to many flaws in my 2012 charts, I have only calculated the runs from songs that have been apart of the 2013 charts. Any song that charted in both 2012 and 2013, or that at least has had decent relevance in 2013 ("Diamonds", "Wanted"), had their full chart run included in their certification. However, no placement from below the Bottom 50 is counted, along with weeks charted as an album track. The new recurrent rules place a song into recurrent status if it has reached Platinum. This officially moves "Ho Hey" and "No Worries" to recurrency. The certified songs are (alphabetically by certification)- Silver"Ball" "Better Dig Two" "Girl on Fire" "Guap" "Lessons in Love (All Day, All Night)" "Say You're Just a Friend" "Two Black Cadillacs" "Wicked Games" Gold"Begin Again" "Daylight" "Joy & Pain" "Remember When (Push Rewind)" "Simply Amazing" "The Only Way I Know" "Troublemaker" "Turn Around" Platinum"Feel This Moment" "Ho Hey" "Little Talks" "No Worries" "Overjoyed" "Rewind" "The Biggest Mistake" "Thrift Shop" "Wanted" "Who Booty" 2x Platinum"C'mon" "Catch My Breath" "Don't Stop the Party" "Lego House" "Remember You" "She Wolf (Falling to Pieces)" "Sweet Nothing" 3x Platinum"Don't Judge Me" "Home" "I Cry" "Locked Out of Heaven" "Radioactive" "Rest of My Life" "Scream & Shout" "Swimming Pools (Drank)" "Try" 4x Platinum"Between the Raindrops" "Hall of Fame" "Just a Fool" "Little Things" "The A Team" 5x Platinum"Battle Scars" "Beauty and a Beat" "Diamonds" "Die Young" 6x Platinum"Don't You Worry Child" "It's Time" 7x Platinumnone 8x Platinum"Endlessly" 9x Platinum"I Knew You Were Trouble" Diamondnone

Oh and shout out to Slizzard for helping me in the first place with some Excel stuff. Oh. Thanks Slizzard! You're welcome. Not a great #1, but it could be worse. Awesome to see "Try" in the top five and "Little Talks" entering the top ten! Hope "Tornado" manages to hit the chart. "Come Clean" I must say I lol'd at your certifications going so high. For example "Try" has spent 16 weeks and counting in the top 10 for me and it's double platinum, whereas it's only just made #5 for you and it's triple platinum I like my le7els tho. Also good to see "Troublemaker", "Remember When", "Turn Around", "Two Black Cadillacs", "Gold", "F. Problems" and "When I Was Your Man" climbing! :)

Lol I actually don't know how "Try" is so high in points. Next week it should actually reach 4x Platinum :O
And yes, I like lots of certifications lol :kii:

I wanted my certification thresholds to be similar to what they are today, where even small hits make platinum, and huge hits make 7 or 8x platinum. I think I made it too easy to get certified though. (like I blabbed on forever in my chart about this week ) Slizzard's thresholds are just way too high for me.

Lego House and Radioactive in your top ten. Amazing! and a flawless #1. Love seeing Troublemaker doing so well, too.
And Come Clean is great.

I like your chart, Nick! Great to see "C'mon", "Lego House", "Try", "Radioactive", "I Knew You Were Trouble.", and "Little Talks" in your Top 10. Nice debut of "If I Lose Myself" too :) However, as Slizzard pointed out, your certifications are very high. I don't have nothing against them, of course, but I mean, as an example, "I Knew You Were Trouble." is 9x Platinum (!!!) while in my chart, it's one (of three) to recently become Gold. I think your points to get the platinum status are so low or my points to get this status are so high

^Thanks for the comment! Well to be fair, your chart has only been around for like 5 weeks, while "I Knew You Were Trouble" spent 5 months in my Top 4 with 4 weeks at #1 I consider these certifications to be more like levels of success. The mega flops don't get certified. The songs to decently spend a few weeks in the Top 40 or so get Silver. The moderate successes get Gold. And then the Platinums just show how big the hits were in comparison to everything else, while a true megasmash will get the honors of being Diamond. I understand they are higher than most certification systems (except Au$tin's ), but I feel like it properly illustrates the success of a song on my chart. Like Slizzard said, "Try" may have just reached the Top 5, but it is 3x Platinum because it's had a slow rise, gaining the points over time. I appreciate the feedback guys, but I'm going to keep my system the way it is :)

Yeah certification are all a matter of perspective. Slizzard keeps his really low, while I (and Nick it seems like as well) aim for certifications similar to those in real life. Huge smashes irl get to 6 or 7x platinum, things like that. :)

I didn't check how many weeks "I Knew You Were Trouble." was on your chart. My bad! Almost 20 weeks in the Top 4! That's the reason it's 9x Platinum. Only she could do it :'( But I agree with you. If yours and Josh's certifications reflects the success of a song, that's fine! :)

New Certifications section added :) February 10, 2013David Guetta scores his first #1 with "She Wolf (Falling to Pieces)". He came closest with "Without You", which peaked at #3. It replaces Ke$ha's "C'mon" which slides 1-2. In the running for next week with "She Wolf" and "C'mon" are Ed Sheeran's "Lego House" (rebounding 4-3 after previously reaching #2), Of Monsters and Men's "Little Talks" (10-5), and Pitbull's "Feel This Moment" (9-6). Trey Songz scores his second Top 10 with "Simply Amazing" rising 15-9. The appropriately-titled song matches the peak of "Heart Attack", which should have performed better. "Simply Amazing" looks to avenge that. Seven songs debut this week, led by Fall Out Boy's new predictably-long-named comeback single, "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light 'Em Up)" at #27, their first entry. Muse's "Madness" debuts at #44, their first entry. Future's "Neva End", a duet with Kelly Rowland, debuts at #46. Future previously bubbled under with "Turn on the Lights" at the equivalent of #49. The Ready Set's "Give Me Your Hand (Best Song Ever)" re-enters at #47, after previously peaking at #38. It's his first entry. One Direction's "Kiss You" debuts at #48. 1D previously reached #1 with "What Makes You Beautiful", debuted at #1 with "Live While We're Young" and non-single, "Rock Me", #2 with non-single, "They Don't Know About Us", #3 with non-single "Moments", #5 with "One Thing", and #6 with "Little Things". Skylar Grey's "C'mon Let Me Ride", featuring a guest rap from Eminem, debuts at #49, her first entry. Game's "Celebration", with a chorus by Chris Brown and verses by Tyga, Wiz Khalifa, and Lil Wayne, debuts at #50, his first entry. The biggest gains this week (5+) go to OneRepublic's "If I Lose Myself" (40-18), Nelly's "Hey Porsche" (47-34), Krewella's "Alive" (27-15), DJ Pauly D's "Back to Love" (29-17), Justin Timberlake's "Suit & Tie" (39-30), "Simply Amazing", Macklemore & Ryan Lewis's "Thrift Shop" (18-12), Olly Murs's "Troublemaker" (19-13), A$AP Rocky's "F**kin' Problems" (34-28), Lil Wayne's "Love Me" (44-38), and "Little Talks". Going recurrent this week are Imagine Dragons's "It's Time" (last week #41) and Ludacris's "Rest of My Life" (#42). T.I.'s "Ball" (#38), Camryn's "Now or Never" (#45), The Weeknd's "Wicked Games" (#48), Gary Allan's "Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain)" (#49), and 2 Chainz's "I'm Different" (#50) are purged. 02 01 DAVID GUETTA She Wolf (Falling to Pieces) 1 *3x Platinum*01 02 KE$HA C'mon 1 *3x Platinum*04 03 ED SHEERAN Lego House 2 *3x Platinum*03 04 KENDRICK LAMAR Swimming Pools (Drank) 1 *3x Platinum*10 05 OF MONSTERS AND MEN Little Talks 5 *2x Platinum*09 06 PITBULL Feel This Moment 6 *Platinum*07 07 IMAGINE DRAGONS Radioactive 1 *4x Platinum*05 08 P!NK Try 5 *4x Platinum*15 09 TREY SONGZ Simply Amazing 9 *Platinum*06 10 THE SECRET STATE The Biggest Mistake 6 *Platinum*08 11 TAYLOR SWIFT I Knew You Were Trouble 1 *9x Platinum*18 12 MACKLEMORE/RYAN LEWIS Thrift Shop 12 *Platinum*19 13 OLLY MURS Troublemaker 13 *Platinum*14 14 JONN HART Who Booty 14 *Platinum*27 15 KREWELLA Alive 15 *Silver*12 16 CALVIN HARRIS Sweet Nothing 12 *2x Platinum*29 17 DJ PAULY D Back to Love 17 *Silver*40 18 ONEREPUBLIC If I Lose Myself 18 *Silver*21 19 MAROON 5 Daylight 19 *Platinum*11 20 THE CAB Endlessly 1 *9x Platinum*23 21 CHRIS WALLACE Remember When (Push Rewind) 21 *Gold*17 22 KELLY CLARKSON Catch My Breath 14 *2x Platinum*26 23 CARRIE UNDERWOOD Two Black Cadillacs 23 *Silver*13 24 PITBULL Don't Stop the Party 10 *3x Platinum*20 25 CHRIS RICHARDSON Joy & Pain 20 *Gold*16 26 SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA Don't You Worry Child 3 *6x Platinum*** 27 FALL OUT BOY My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light 'Em Up) 2734 28 A$AP ROCKY F**kin' Problems 28 25 29 AUSTIN MAHONE Say You're Just a Friend 25 *Silver*39 30 JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE Suit & Tie 30 22 31 WILL.I.AM Scream & Shout 8 *3x Platinum*33 32 BRITT NICOLE Gold 32 24 33 CONOR MAYNARD Turn Around 24 *Gold*47 34 NELLY Hey Porsche 34 35 35 TIM MCGRAW One of Those Nights 35 36 36 BRUNO MARS When I Was Your Man 36 37 37 NEON TREES Lessons in Love (All Day, All Night) 33 *Silver*44 38 LIL WAYNE Love Me 38 30 39 WIZ KHALIFA Remember You 6 *2x Platinum*43 40 RIHANNA Pour It Up 40 31 41 JUSTIN BIEBER Beauty and a Beat 1 *5x Platinum*28 42 LUPE FIASCO/GUY SEBASTIAN Battle Scars 1 *5x Platinum*46 43 NE-YO Forever Now 43 ** 44 MUSE Madness 4432 45 CHRIS BROWN Don't Judge Me 5 *3x Platinum*** 46 FUTURE Neva End 46 RE 47 THE READY SET Give Me Your Hand (Best Song Ever) 38 ** 48 ONE DIRECTION Kiss You 48 ** 49 SKYLAR GREY C'mon Let Me Ride 49 ** 50 GAME Celebration 50Dropouts- 38 T.I.
