You beat me to it! LOL. I was going to wait until Sunrise peaked.
This is one of my favorites from the album. It is musically and lyrically a much stronger track than Sunrise. It kind of has an Oasis feel to it.

It appears that "W.H.T." will not go for adds until early 2005.
December is a bad time to release singles anyway, as radio stations freeze their playlists. Plus "Sunrise" has not peaked yet.

They are playing Madison Square Garden on April 13th, tix go on sale on December 13th. Big ad in the new Village Voice.
"What Happens Tomorrow" really is a great song and I hope radio stations who held out on "Sunrise" will give this one a chance.

it would be nice to see a resurge in 80s artists again. Motley Crue also has a new album out (only 3 new songs tho), and announced a tour. Between DD and Simply Red though, I wonder who will be next....Stevie Wonder also has a new album coming out.

They should be performing WHT on Carson Daly's New Year's Eve special tonight.

There is a version of WHT that some radio stations are playing that is mixed with news segments on the Tsunami victims.
If you remember they did this back in '95 with Live's "Lightning Crashes".
This "mix" wasn't done by Duran Duran for the record, but it may help the song get heard.
Some fans feel that this is exploitation.

It is starting to pick up more stations! It's Going for Adds according to the Radio and Records website... I think this has a good chance at being another Hot AC hit like Sunrise. I think that the band wants this song to make an impact at Pop, but I'm not so sure that will happen...

Wow, this is great. Should've been the first single because no matter what, the first single would be the only one to get any attention in this country.

I agree, this is strong enough to have been the lead single.
If this were U2, it would be in the Top 40 already :'(

Is the "Astronaut" still on the Billboard 200? It debuted at #17 back in October, but fell off within about 6 or 7 weeks. It re-entered recently at #185 or something. I think it will start to go up a little due to the airplay that WHT seems to be getting, and the North American tour starts next week. Plus they are on TV this week. They performed on "Good Morning America" today, and they will perform on "Regis and Kelly" tom'w (2/2).

"What Happens Tomorrow" holds at #27 for a 2nd week, although it got 711 plays for the week.
Not much movement overall on this chart this week.

I think I feel the same way about this song that most people feel about "Boulevard of Broken Dreams". (It's OK, but I don't think it's a masterpiece like everyone else does)

Spending a 3rd week at #27 with a bullet. It got 816 plays for the week. But it debuts this week on the sans recurrent rules chart! Hot AC is really getting competitive right now in the top 30.Β I don't remember ever seeing so many songs over 1000 spins.

I have no idea what that list actually means. I don't know what "sans" means in this context either. I thought sans was french for without.

I have no idea what that list actually means.Β I don't know what "sans" means in this context either.Β I thought sans was french for without. The purpose of the sans recurrent chart is to rank the 40 most spun songs on Hot AC radio. The R&R chart does this, but with rules. One rule is that if you have been on the chart for 21 or more weeks and are below #15 on the chart, the song is moved to "recurrent" status. That rakes it off of the R&R Top 40 HAC chart. However, that does NOT mean it is not being played on radio stations stiil. HAC and AC in particular are notorious for keeping really hot songs on the format on their playlists for a LONG time. So, what I do each week is gain a list of weekly spin totals for the "currents", "recurrents", and "golds" (which are like older recurrents) and then construct a top 40 HAC chart based on spins alone and not having any recurrent rules. Hence the title "sans recurrent rules". This list represents really what the top 40 most heard songs are on HAC radio, as opposed to the R&R Hot AC chart. For example, notice that "I Don't Want To Be" is a recurrent on the R&R HAC chart, but based on the stations monitored on the HAC panel, the song was spun enough last week to be the #11 most played song on HAC.
