I have her album and I think it's very solid... Notthing ground breaking but it's very refreshing. Actually, I think Bubbly is one of the weaker tracks. :)

Ya know, I kind of agree with some peeps who say that this wouldn't get the play it's getting if Jewel or Sheryl Crow sang it. Completely! But she has a unique style that's nothing like Sheryl Crow, and not as serious and melancholy as Jewel - IMO that's why she's gettin so much attention and this song is becoming so popular - yah she's young and "fresh" but she also has a completely unique sound that this generation hasn't really heard before - can't think of anyone she even remotely sounds like except for Edie Brickell, who's hit was nearly 20 years ago!

Oh, I think she sounds like Natasha Bedingfield. And Anna Nalick could have become more popular if they had chosen better singles after 2AM Breathe. Both of them have that young, fresh, bubbly personality type. So I don't think this girl is anything new on the scene. I saw a clip of her on TV and she has a good voice live. They did a thing about her on some ABC show last night. The one that's all about the web. Can't remember the name of it.

You actually answered your own question. :) Neither Anna nor Natasha have put out anything that have been a hit in quite a long while, and right now Bubbly is pretty much the only song that sounds like that in the mainstream right now.

Natasha Bedingfield I don't think is a singer/songwriter (could be wrong) and IMO is much more straight pop than pop/alternative like Colbie Caillat or Edie Brickell Anna Nalick I think is much more melancholy like Norah Jones...couldn't imagine her singing "Bubbly"

I am in love with this song. It's definitely a quick grower... once you catch on to it, it kind of latches onto you and doesn't let go!

Still doing well here and blowing up elsewhere!
Hot AC: 7 6 COLBIE CAILLAT Bubbly 2705 2486 +219 12.831 AAA: 4 4 COLBIE CAILLAT Bubbly 555 594 -39 1.997 Pop: 30 23 COLBIE CAILLAT Bubbly 2737 1842 +895 12.733 AC: 20 16 COLBIE CAILLAT Bubbly 493 305 +188 6.924
Greatest gainer on AC, 3rd on Hot AC, and 4th on Pop. Anyone think she could hit #1 on 4 formats?!? I think AC and Hot AC are almost guaranteed!

This little tune is now top 5 on Hot AC. The bullet is still in the 200s.

This is now up to #4, leap-frogging Matchbox Twenty. That's saying something on Hot AC!

Yeah, only 3 plays behind it now. That will mean the top 3 is all females. Has that ever happened before?

Yeah, only 3 plays behind it now. That will mean the top 3 is all females. Has that ever happened before? Yes it has. On the 12/2/94 chart, this was the top 3: 1. Secret - Madonna 2. All I Wanna Do - Sheryl Crow 3. I'm the Only One - Melissa Etheridge On the 4/26/96 and 5/3/96 charts: 1. Because You Loved Me - Celine Dion 2. Always Be My Baby - Mariah Carey 3. Wonder - Natalie Merchant Later that month, Celine and Mariah were still in the top 3, and Tracy Chapman joined them for another top 3 women chart. I stopped looking after that, but I believe there hasn't been any in recent history (past 5 years or so).

She already hit #1 on Triple A...yeah IMO guaranteed #1 on Hot AC and AC She has a big Timbaland problem on CHR... even though her bullet is over +1300!! Stupid Clear Channel Kiss-Rhythmic stations are gonna block her from #1 cause they'll play "Apologize" 110 times a week!! (Unless she can outlast him)

When this first came out, no one or maybe very, very few even thought that this would blow up like this. ;)

It's beating "Apologize" on CHR callout (Rate The Music.com) - so if "Apologize" keeps her from hittin #1 CHR I'm gonna be really mad at Clear Channel!

"Apologize" may have an appeal to rhythmic-CHR audiences, but it's also very Hot AC friendly. This is evidenced by its 243 point increase in Hot AC spins. I'm not understanding what the gripe is - unless you simply don't like the song. I thought "Bubbly" was so-so when I 1st heard it, but now it's gaining more appeal with me the more I hear it. Funny how some songs have to grow on you, but you get tired of others really fast the more you hear them.

The gripe is...if 20 Clear Channel CHR Kiss stations don't play "Bubbly" or barely play it at all (because they simply defer it to the local HAC station), and "Apologize" prevents it from hitting #1 CHR, I think that's completely unfair cause they should be reportin to the Rhythmic panel IMO...but I'm not sure why I wrote that on the HAC thread... ??? BTW, you also live in the only major U. S. market where "Bubbly" isn't doin so well, so I guess a lot of other people in Phoenix agree with you

I don't know why I can't believe this. The song is HUGE at my station and I never would have predicted it. I didn't expect much from this song at all. Either way... congrats to Colbie. From MySpace to #1!

Anyone know the last song to hit the top spot at all three formats?

"Hey There Delilah" came pretty close...not sure but it might have hit #1 Triple A...hit #1 Hot AC (I think), and would've hit #1 CHR if it weren't for Clear Channel Kiss stations
