Anyone else heard this? HUGE HIT guaranteed, first on Top 40 and soon after on Hot AC - thing is, I never like Good Charlotte before - this song will be a smash - actually has a retro-80s feel to it

Yes, I heard it alright, but I don't know why they writing it as "I don't wanna be in love", so stupid!
Anyway, is a great song I hope it will be huge, btw does anyone knows the peak positions of "The River" on those 2 charts? top 40 and Hot AC

I would highly doubt this even touches the Top 30 on this format.

I think it'll reach the Top 20 on Hot AC, as long as it goes for adds at this format - a bunch of CHR/Top 40 stations are already putting it in pretty heavy rotation - I think the retro-80s feel will boost it IF it is marketed to Hot AC

I can see this having the same success as "Here (In Your Arms)". Where did that peak here?

Hot AC should not touch this, but they have picked up some odd songs lately, so who knows?

Hot AC should not touch this, but they have picked up some odd songs lately, so who knows? This song seems more Hot AC oriented than CHR/Pop oriented to me b/c of the 80s feel - CHR/Pop will definitely play it FIRST though - I'll be really surprised if this isn't eventually a Hot AC hit Also, for some reason, Mediabase is calling this song "I Don't Want To Be In Love", while it's still listed as "Dance Floor Anthem" on yes.com - maybe the producers decided to change the title b/c G. C. had another Top 40 hit called "The Anthem" a few years ago

This song is amazing and I wish it would become a big hit. It's one of my favorites now.

It's pickin up a little on CHR (+90 plays to #42)...I'm a little worried b/c it's gettin mixed reactions on the CHR board, esp. from females (it seems) - I wrote on a CHR post that I wish they'd change the chorus lyrics to "I Just Wanna Be In Love" instead of "I Don't Wanna Be In Love" which I think might be turnin off or even confusing listeners -

But "Goldigger" was a #1 pop hit back in 2005, and if ridiculous songs about liking bartenders and being in love with strippers can become hits, than I don't think that's fair to say IMO.

Unfortunately IMO lots of people can relate to Gold Diggers, Bartenders, and Lovin' Strippers - not sure lots of people can relate to not wanting to be in love... hope ur right though :)

Yeah, but hearing a song about being in love with a stripper just seemed weird to me. Just my opinion (maybe I'm too young for this), but strippers seem more like entertainers than people you would fall in love with. And the lyrics were corny. Not sure about gold diggers though.
And I think maybe females can relate to this song more than males.

I don't think "I'm N Luv (Wit A Stripper)" was that big a hit - I don't have the CHR stats, but it didn't make it out of the high 20s on the CHR/HAC combo, and also didn't last that long on the chart

^ Now that I think of it, your idea is a great one. They could change "You got no reason to live" with "You got A reason to live: "I just wanna be in love..".

They could change "You got no reason to live" with "You got A reason to live: "I just wanna be in love..". needless to say this one is different than their traditional sound, and the only way they are sticking to their roots is by using depressing lyrics. so maybe it isnt so bad after all

#1 at WIXX/Green Bay (it's a CHR station)!! A whole bunch of CHRs are startin to increase plays significantly (mostly on the East Coast)...this needs to go for HAC adds so that KYSR, KMXB, KLCA, etc. can add it in the Western states, where most of the CHRs are really rhythmic

That to me is a pretty decent hit. It was also the #64 song for 2006.

I'm surprised this isn't a bigger hit. It's really catchy and isn't that "hard"
The only station that's playing it is KSCF in San Diego.

It made the Sure Shot on the CHR Rick Dees show and a "breakout" track on CHR American Top 40 this week, which should give it a pretty nice boost on CHR (assumin this song needs to do better on CHR if it's gonna ever go for HAC adds...)
