Okay, a bit of a "trick" post here as this song probably won't receive any airplay outside of Chicago. This is Eddie's new song which paints a portrait of hope that the Chicago Cubs will one day finally go all the way to win the World Series (he was raised in the Chicago area). As this song probably will not get any airplay outside the Chicago area, the only place to hear it is on his website. Of course the only Hot AC add is on WTMX in Chicago where it already is in their top 10.
For those of us who live in Chicago or who have heard it on his website, I will say that I think this song sounds like a depressing funeral march, and sounds like the song that will be sung in all of the Wrigleyville bars should the Cubs fall short again this year! This song makes the mediocre "Go Cubs Go" sound like Mozart! As a diehard Cubs fan, I'll take the latter song anyday.
I'd still be interested to see what others think about this song though.

You know, I actually agree. I personally don't like it. It's too cheesy lol. But the intentions are great.

And it's great we have such a high profile artist that came up with a song about the Cubs. But yes, the cheesiness of this song ruins it, especially considering how depressing it sounds when people should be excited. Hey crashed, if you ever listen to Eddie & Jobo on B-96, Eddie brought out his old classic "Getting Wrigley With It" (rapped to a Will Smith song of a similar name) last week after he and other listeners ripped on Vedder's song! A much more fun song about the Cubs by a radio personality not known by many outside of the Chicago market. I'll take radio host Eddie V's song over the other Eddie V's song anyday! :)

Haha, I haven't listened to B96 in a while but I'll try to catch it.

I was at the Cubs game last night and I was hoping to hear this song after the Cubs won, but unfortunately the lost. :'(
Hopefully this song will be played at Wrigley at least one more time this season.
