I'm not sure they'll do a 3rd single. They had a very nice surprise hit with the first song, but I don't think this one quite fulfilled their expectations. Plus, their sales aren't the strongest right now and I don't think this song did much to boost the album sales either. I'd love to see a 3rd release, but I don't expect it.

^Yeah I've only listened to the other tracks once but don't really remember another one that seems like single material anyway (have to go back and listen though lol)...Rob Thomas kept releasing singles that did really well on HAC but only peaked in the 30s on CHR, though, so if there is another potential single on M20's new CD IMO they prob. will release it

Plus, their sales aren't the strongest right now and I don't think this song did much to boost the album sales either. I'd love to see a 3rd release, but I don't expect it. Exactly. Since the album has now been out 6 months (about 631,000 sold in US), I must say that HFWC is the only song that is really sticking with me. I like All Your Reasons and I'll Believe You When but I really can't see either song being released and helping the album get back into the top 100 on the Billboard 200. So I say let this song play itself out on HotAC for a few more solid weeks and then Rob needs to give HotAC a break. There really was very little separation between his album and this one with the release of Little Wonders inbetween the two. He can then come out with an excellent song on his solo album; however, at the same time, my gut is telling me this will be a much more personal album for Rob. More a singer-songerwriter album than his first one. He said something about listening to a lot of Paul Simon and trying for that vibe. :) I don't think that kind of interpersonnal songwriting will find a big home on this format in the future (maybe a little more AAA play). So as with any artist and with the HotAC format switching to a more pop based sound in the larger cities, I don't expect any more #1 hits for Rob or MB20 on this format. (Hope I'm wrong though .) They've had a great 10+ years on the format and many stations will play their stuff for years to come. Just not a lot of the very big stations that it takes playing your songs in high rotation to get to #1 on the format. However, I do still expect all Rob/MB20 songs to go top 10 for a few more years but that's only getting you about 10-12 million in audience impressions these days. As for THT, it sounded too much like 2 out of the past 3 releases by Rob...Ever The Same and Little Wonders. The similarity is more in the pacing of the song and Rob's vocals than the music or lyrics. As someone stated I think that's why HFWC appealed to many non-fans...it was a different sound for Rob/MB20. IF they were to release a third single, I think I would go with All Your Reasons for some of the same reasons as HFWC. I doubt they'll make a video for it if that's what happens.

Something I am surprised about with THT is that either it was released to AC with no push and it's basically flopped or they didn't release it to that format. Odd if that is the case because I think that's the format it would have performed best on. If they are still going to release it, I don't know what the hold up is. Reaching top 10 on HotAC possibly?

^Yeah another thing that happens a lot I think is that markets without HACs have their ACs "pick up" on songs that CHRs don't "take"...and there are enough of these markets that HAC songs can end up on the tail end of the AC chart IMO

I'm really quite surprised by the staying power of this song. I think it's good but not anything special. And I agree that it sounds in the same vein as Ever the Same and Little Wonders. But it's now up to #7 on the Hot AC chart with a pretty nice +134 bullet. Must be getting some good call out feedback. I think the message of this song is quite appropos to "these times" actually. A better video could have helped this a bit. How boring! I would love to see another release from this album. Either "I'll Believe You When" or "All Your Reasons". Don't know if this song's showing will allow that though. mmr247.com/mmrweb/AllAccess/Charts.asp?format=a2R

Thinkin that two things are goin on IMO...(1)the song has very little burn, and (2)HAC is really in a "drought" right now in terms of core HAC artists releasing big hits, so stations have to hold on to songs like THT and WGYWOY until new ones come along to replace them...esp. IMO stations that are more conservative that can't play Modern AC hits

EOM sold 4,516 this week. The album probably only has a few more weeks left on the Billboard 200. Total US sales are at 635,585. I doubt that is enough in sales to justify a third video if one more single is released. However, I don't know how the album did worldwide. It's 2X platinum in Australia (MB20 is a pretty big artist in AU), but otherwise, I don't have any idea. I think platinum is 70,000 in Australia. So that gives EOM about 775,000 between the two countries. It may be around 900-1,000,000 worldwide.

I was thinking the same thing, that there isn't much new music by core artists to push this out of the way. Trying to think what's in the pipeline for the rest of the year. Isn't Coldplay coming out with a new album? Is Counting Crows' new album releasing singles to this format? Anything else that has Hot AC buzz that's due to be released this summer?

Isn't Coldplay coming out with a new album? Yeah there's actually a thread for a new Coldplay single on the Alternative board...I was wonderin why they got the "buzz" on the new Coldplay single before Triple A/Hot AC

A little off-topic but I just read an interview that Brian (from MB20) gave in Australia. According to him, Rob's next album is done and it should be out by the end of the year. Wonderful news to me as a Rob fan. That news definitely leans me toward the decision that I hope this is MB20's last single off this album.
