I think this has potential but yeah, the longevity of "You Found Me" will most certainly take this one some time.

It's pretty boring as we get into the summer months. I see it doing well on the more "standard" HotAC stations, though.

I think this could potentially hit #1 on Hot AC.

I still don't know what they were thinking going with this as single number two. I like it as an album track, but not a single.
Hopefully it'll at least reach Top 20.

Yeah just don't think there were many other choices...Absolute is too abstract for CHR (and kinda burns IMO) - Enough For Now still stands out for me cause of its storyline, but it's not pop Seems like it might be a similar situation to Coldplay cause they have a lot more AAA material (and some HAC), just not pop

I think The Fray just had their 4th big hit. This song may not be as successful as You Found Me, but I easily see it hitting Top 10 on pop.
In my experience, I have noticed that most people hate Fray songs at first, but the emotion eats at them and the songs grow on them.

I think that Syndicate is the best choice for pop, and Enough For Now is perfect for HAC/AAA.

This is included in the Transformers soundtrack. Might get a big boost in radio 'coz of this.

It seems kind of out of place along side the other songs. I don't mind though, this song has grown on me immensely. I think that maybe it was the awesome video for this.

Yeah, this is like any other Fray song for people I know in that they hated it at first but now they love it.
Strange how it made Transformers. The only two I know from the last one were Linkin Park's "What I've Done" and Smashing Pumpkins' "Doomsday Clock." Maybe this song plays while a Transformer dies :(

Observing this single both here and at CHR/Pop has been quite a head-scratcher, unlike any other run I've seen to date. This is that single that sharply underperformed here, while sharply exceeding expectations at CHR/Pop. Perhaps the single-greatest example of an underachiever here that nonetheless became at least a moderately large hit at CHR/Pop. I think we could go on forever discussing and debating why "Never Say Never" struggled here, when I thought there was nothing that broke it away from the standard AC/Hot AC mold, yet found considerable success at Mainstream Top 40..............a format that has been less welcoming to Hot AC-centric artists the latter half of this decade in particular. There are truly no excuses why it underperformed here, I believe, given "You Found Me" was also a huge hit on Mainstream Top 40 and the prospect of recurrentitis surely hasn't deterred "Never Say Never" there. In the end, "Never Say Never" could very well peak higher on the Mainstream Top 40 than on Hot AC.............which is quite a rarity. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

5 7 KATY PERRY Waking Up In Vegas 2581 2945 -364 12.102 8 8 ROB THOMAS Her Diamonds 2576 2800 -224 12.376 9 9 FRAY Never Say Never 2553 2466 87 11.534
This can hit #7 by Sunday and, unless "Please Don't Leave Me" hastens up its spin loss, looks like that'll be its peak position.

I'll go out on a limb and suggest this will continue to rise ever-so-slowly and reach #5 HAC.
I'm racking my brain to come up with a good example of a "Hot AC song to do better in the CHR format than here". Mostly the songs I can think of fall into the following:
1) Qualifying songs that BARELY did better CHR (i.e. Since U Been Gone) 2) Acts that were formerly more CHR or Alt-centric (i.e. Alanis) 3) Occasional songs that fit AC and CHR well, but not so much HAC (This is a weird group of songs... and I'm trying to think of a good one as I type - sometimes an urban artist will manage those two while being shunned at HAC).
