This Sunday, the New Orleans Saints have a Sunday morning (8:30-?) game...in London (UK). Therefore, 105.1 The River (WJDX-FM) will air American Top 40: The '80s (the "A" show) at a special time: from 6 pm to 10 pm.

"Every Picture Tells A Story" will remain in the show. Premiere optional extras Hour #1: "Runaround Sue" - Dion (original AT40 extra) Hour #2: "Theme From Shaft" - Isaac Hayes (#50; highest debut) Hour #3: "Don't Be Cruel" - Elvis Presley (original AT40 extra) The "B" show is from 10/18/1975 which aired back in 2013. Now for my preview of the two '80s shows The "A" show is from 10/18/1980 which aired back in 2011. Here is an altered repost. Five songs debuted this week: "That Girl Could Sing" - Jackson Browne (#33) "More Than I Can Say" - Leo Sayer (#35) "Could I Have This Dance" - Anne Murray (#38) "She's So Cold" - The Rolling Stones (#39) "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" - Pat Benatar (#40) Five songs fell off the Top 40 this week: "All Over The World" - Electric Light Orchestra (#13) "Fame" - Irene Cara (#19) "No Night So Long" - Dionne Warwick (#23) "You'll Accomp'ny Me" - Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band (#30) "Don't Ask Me Why" - Billy Joel (#35) Biggest Mover: "Lovely One" - The Jacksons (#38 to #28) Biggest Dropper: "Lookin' For Love" - Johnny Lee (#11 to #21) Original extras: None Long Distance Dedications: "Makin' It" - David Naughton "We've Got Tonite" - Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band Archive extras (all three will be included): "Don't Break The Heart That Loves You" - Connie Francis "Johnny Angel" - Shelley Fabares "Good Luck Charm" - Elvis Presley Premiere optional extras: Hour #1: "Without Your Love" - Roger Daltrey (#42) Hour #2: "Turning Japanese" - The Vapors (#56) Hour #3: "Refugee" - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers (NR) Hour #4: "Theme From 'The Dukes Of Hazzard' (Good 'Ol Boys)" - Waylon Jennings (#50) Note: The "Refugee" extra was added literally after the recent death of Tom Petty last week. Literally is used because the cue sheet I received before news of his death broke had the original Hour #3 extra (AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long") before a quick change was deemed necessary. BTW great tribute by Jason Aldean on SNL last night. :) The "B" show is from 10/18/1986 which aired back in 2012. Here was my repost from back then: Three songs debuted this week: "Love Will Conquer All" - Lionel Richie (#36) "Somebody's Out There" - Triumph (#39) "The Way It Is" - Bruce Hornsby & The Range (#40) Three songs fell out of the Top 40 this week: "Take My Breath Away" - Berlin (#26) "Paranoimia" - The Art of Noise with Max Headroom (#35) "Twist And Shout" - The Beatles (#36) Biggest Mover (tie): "Amanda" - Boston (#27 to #15) "True Blue" - Madonna (#32 to #20) Biggest Dropper (tie): "Love Zone" - Billy Ocean (#17 to #34) "Dancing On The Ceiling" - Lionel Richie (#20 to #37) Original extras: None Long Distance Dedications: "Don't Lose My Number" - Phil Collins "Missing You" - Diana Ross Premiere optional extras Hour #1: "Stand By Me" - Ben E. The way you hear "Don't Stop Believin" - Journey now a days, you would think, it went to #1. The truth is, it only got as high as #9. It also became the biggest Digital selling song of all time, until that crap "Radioactive" from Imagine Dragons, came along. That surprised the hell out of me.
