Shouldn't this be bolded too? Eight of the Top 10 songs that week were in their peak positions.

Shouldn't this be bolded too? Eight of the Top 10 songs that week were in their peak positions. Since eight of the Top 10 were at their peaks, and eight of the Top 10 are currently bolded...you just answered your own question. ;) cartman in fact made a typo; "One on One" peaked at 7, not 9.

Well, it turns out that "Pretty in Pink" never did reach the Top 40. This use of a non-Top-40 Extra is a little more excusable, though, as this one only barely missed - stopping at #41.
- OK, what the hell kind of butcher job was done to "Rock Me Amadeus"? I seem to remember that song originally having verses of German lyrics...and all I heard here was the title several times along with a couple moments of gibberish in who-knows-what language.
EDIT to include Flashback Extras (WIDL played all four!) as well as a couple comments from yours truly.

The LDD was from a woman who met Neil Tennant two years ago when he was struggling to make it as a musician.

The LDD was from a woman who met Neil Tennant two years ago when he was struggling to make it as a musician. Ah...OK. As it happens, I'm listening to the show a second time because I was extremely tired in fits after the first hour, which caused me to miss most of #27 and 26, part of 9, all of 8-3, and was coming to just as #2 was ending. Ergo...I want to catch the show in full this time. How did I find the show a second time, you ask? I discovered that another station plays the show around here - WIDL (classified as Hot AC), based out of Caro. They air the show 6-10 Sundays, and apparently on Saturday mornings as well, though I hadn't known the latter till just yesterday morning when I was flipping stations and heard "R.O.C.K. in the USA". Turns out I can get WIDL in just fine in my campus apartment. WCRZ, my normal listening station? Not so much. Incidentally...the WIDL show has already had one Flashback Extra so far (first LDD playing now), while the WCRZ show last night had none. I'll edit that in, along with any others that play, once the show's done.

The version you're thinking of is the German version, which has somehow become the more widely heard version in the two decades since.

And no wonder, given that the English version is barely a song.

I am wondering why US radio stations did not just go ahead and play the German version like they did Nena, really. I personally prefer the German version, that's what they played in the UK back in 1986. And ya know what it sold! Sending this gem to #1!
