Now to preview the two '80s shows this week. The "A" show for this week is from 4/10/1982 which previously aired in 2014. Here is an edited repost. Eight (yes, eight) songs debuted this week: "Ebony & Ivory" - Paul McCartney & Stevie Wonder (#29; Hot 100 Debut) "Always On My Mind" - Willie Nelson (#30) "Mama Used To Say" - Junior (#33) "The Beatles Movie Medley" - The Beatles (#34) "Genius Of Love" - Tom Tom Club (#37) "Hang Fire" - The Rolling Stones (#38) "Don't You Want Me" - The Human League (#39) "The Other Woman" - Ray Parker Jr. (#40) Eight songs fell out of the Top 40 this week: "On The Way To The Sky" - Neil Diamond (#27) "Shake It Up" - The Cars (#29) "Tonight I'm Yours" - Rod Stewart (#31) "Mirror, Mirror" - Diana Ross (#33) "Spirits In The Material World" - The Police (#34) "Leader Of The Band" - Dan Fogelberg (#35) "Take It Easy On Me" - Little River Band (#36) "Just Can't Win 'Em All" - Stevie Woods (#38) Biggest Mover: "Get Down On It" - Kool & The Gang (#40 to #25) Biggest Dropper: "Centerfold" - J. Geils Band (#19 to #31) Original extras: "Fame" - David Bowie This song, which was played in the show last time, has been demoted to an optional extra. Long Distance Dedications: "Through The Years" - Kenny Rogers "The Tide Is High" - Blondie Premiere optional extras: Hour #1: "Empty Garden (Hey Hey Johnny)" - Elton John (#42) Hour #2: "Man On Your Mind" - Little River Band (#57) Hour #3: "Fame" - David Bowie (original AT40 extra) Hour #4: "When It's Over" - Loverboy (#79; debuted) And to make room for "Fame", Premiere dropped Soft Cell's "Tainted Love" which was the original Hour #4 extra ("When It's Over" was originally the Hour #3 extra). And with "Through The Years" as an LDD Premiere didn't replace any of the extras with Kenny Rogers unlike... ...this weekend's "B" show which is from 4/14/1984. Here is an edited repost from 2010: Five songs debuted this week: "Breakdance" - Irene Cara (#31) "Oh Sherrie" - Steve Perry (#36) "Let's Hear It For The Boy" - Deniece Williams (#38) "Dancing In The Sheets" - Shalamar (#39) "Borderline" - Madonna (#40) Five songs also fell off this week: "Thriller" - Michael Jackson (#23) "Give It Up" - KC (#26) "Runner" - Manfred Mann's Earth Band (#30) "Red Red Wine" - UB40 (#34) "Back Where You Belong" - .38 Special (#36) Biggest Mover: "To All The Girls I've Loved Before" - Julio Iglesias & Willie Nelson (#31 to #19) Biggest Dropper: "99 Red Balloons" - Nena (#14 to #28) Original extras: None Long Distance Dedications: "Every Breath You Take" - The Police "You Are So Beautiful" - Joe Cocker Premiere optional extras: Hour #1: "What About Me?" - Kenny Rogers with Kim Carnes & James Ingram (NR) Hour #2: "Sister Christian" - Night Ranger (#41) Hour #3: "It's My Life" - Talk Talk (#46) Hour #4: "Self-Control" - Laura Branigan (#63; debuted) Note: Premiere replaced Bon Jovi's "Runaway" (the original Hour #1 extra) with "What About Me?" in tribute to Kenny Rogers.

Considering they just played 3/24/84 3 weeks ago by itself it'll be interesting to see how many stations play 4/14/84 which had It's My Life & the replaced Runaway as 2 of it's extras.
From the 4/10/82 show the David Bowie song that is getting changed to optional extra was played as his biggest hit. I think in the late 70's or early 80's they played Kenny Rogers biggest hit as an extra I wonder if they edited it in to replace the Bowie extra.

Looking at this weeks shows they could've honored Bill Withers by replacing (You're My) Soul & Inspiration which must from another AT40 show with Ain't No Sunshine from 1971, any of the 1978 show extras with Lonely Day from 1978 & they could've even replaced You Can Call Me Al on the 1987 show by saying back at #7 we heard Club Nouveau's Lean On Me which was a remake of the original by Bill Withers who passed away recently & played it.

Nice of them to add a tribute on the B show & not the A show huh. They could've easily replaced Soul & Inspiration that was from the 4/10/71 show with Ain't No Sunshine.
