All right, this weekend there are TWO '70s shows and TWO '80s shows so after a two-week reprieve, I'm back to two-part previews. I'll start with the two '70s shows first. Three songs debuted this week: "Speak Softly Love" - Andy Williams (#38) "Old Man" - Neil Young (#39) "Someday Never Comes" - Creedence Clearwater Revival (#40) Three songs fell off this week: "In The Rain" - The Dramatics (#32) "Jump Into The Fire" - Nilsson (#37) "Help Me Make It Through The Night" - Gladys Knight & The Pips (#38) Biggest Mover (three-way tie): "The Candy Man" - Sammy Davis Jr. (#21 to #13) "Nice To Be With You" - Gallery (#29 to #21) "Song Sung Blue" - Neil Diamond (#35 to #27) Biggest Dropper: "A Cowboy's Work Is Never Done" - Sonny & Cher (#19 to #37) Original extras: "Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On" - Jerry Lee Lewis This song will be played as one of the optional extras Premiere optional extras Hour #1: "Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On" - Jerry Lee Lewis (original AT40 extra) Hour #2: "Day By Day" - Godspell (#90; debuted) Hour #3: "Long Tall Sally" - Little Richard As a disclaimer, the Little Richard extra was added following his recent death. For what it was worth, the original Hour #3 extra was going to be America's "I Need You" which debuted at #62 that week. The "B" show for this week is from 5/12/1979 which aired back in 2015. Here is my repost from back then: Eight songs debuted this week: "We Are Family" - Sister Sledge (#27) "You Take My Breath Away" - Rex Smith (#30) "Ain't Love A B----" - Rod Stewart (#31) "Chuck E.'s In Love" - Rickie Lee Jones (#35) "She Believes In Me" - Kenny Rogers (#36) "Honesty" - Billy Joel (#37) "Makin' It" - David Naughton (#38) "If Loving You Is Wrong I Don't Want To Be Right" - Barbara Mandrell (#39) Eight songs fell out of the Top 40 this week: "Precious Love" - Bob Welch (#19) "Tragedy" - The Bee Gees (#27) "Sultans Of Swing" - Dire Straits (#28) "Crazy Love" - Allman Brothers Band (#29) "Happiness" - The Pointer Sisters (#30) "Roxanne" - The Police (#32) "Roller" - April Wine (#34) "Sweet Lui Louise" - Ironhorse (#36) Biggest Mover: "Hot Stuff" - Donna Summer (#20 to #3) Biggest Dropper: "Music Box Dancer" - Frank Mills (#3 to #15) Original extras: None Long Distance Dedications: "The Closer I Get To You" - Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway "Fire" - The Pointer Sisters Archive extras "The Joker" - Steve Miller Band "Show And Tell" - Al Wilson "You're Sixteen" - Ringo Starr Premiere optional extras Hour #1: "Ring My Bell" - Anita Ward (#90; debuted) Hour #2: "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now" - McFadden & Whitehead (#61) Hour #3: "Boogie Wonderland" - Earth, Wind & Fire (#69; highest debut) Hour #4: "Minute By Minute" - The Doobie Brothers (#50) I'll preview the two '80s shows soon.

And thanks for correcting the Little Richard song. And I realized I goofed on the '80s also.

Friday will (obviously) be the final and I’ve gone through my iTunes library and added the remaining #1s of the decade to play after it. After looking it over I only had to buy 14 songs total of the remaining ones. :)

Only one '80s show this week but two '70s shows and with that my weekend preview will be a two-parter. Starting with the '80s first.
"AT40: The '80s" this week presents 6/13/1987 which aired in 2007 and 2009.
Three songs debuted this week: "Girls, Girls, Girls" - Motley Crue (#35) "Kiss Him Goodbye" - The Nylons (#39) "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You" - Gloria Estefan (#40)
Three songs fell off this week: "Talk Dirty To Me" - Poison (#27) "Day In, Day Out" - David Bowie (#28) "You Can Call Me Al" - Paul Simon (#32)
Biggest Mover: "Shakedown" - Bob Seger (#31 to #19)
Biggest Dropper (tie): "Heat Of The Night" - Bryan Adams (#16 to #29) "La Isla Bonita" - Madonna (#25 to #38)
Original extras: "Vacation" - The Go-Go's "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" - Marvin Gaye Originally, the Go-Gos extra was deleted from the 2007 and 2009 airings while the Marvin Gaye extra remained in the show. Now, 11 years since this show last aired, "Vacation" will be in the show but "Grapevine" will be one of the optional extras.
Long Distance Dedications: "Suddenly" - Billy Ocean "With Or Without You" - U2 (at #9 this week)
Premiere optional extras: Hour #1: "Since You've Been Gone" - The Outfield (#80; debuted) Hour #2: "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" - U2 (#51; highest debut) Hour #3: "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" - Marvin Gaye (original AT40 extra) Hour #4: "Don't Mean Nothing" - Richard Marx (#78; debuted)
I'll preview the two '70s shows next

The AT40/80s FB group had reported that 6/15/1985 was to be the 80s show. Premiere change their mind?

I like the 70's & 80's AT40 shows & wish that the Shadoe Stevens shows could be listened to also.

I have June 15, 1985 for this week and June 13, 1987 for next week. Has this changed? It looks that way because the KOLA FM site says June 13 1987 this weekend.
