WXXM-FM Rewind 92.1 in Madison, WI, broadcasts 80's B show on Saturdays at 9 pm Eastern, and 70's B show on Sundays at 6 pm Eastern, respectively. rewind921.iheart.com/Guess that means they will play the 1972 show tomorrow Yes, they will broadcast the 1972 show. It is a good station for listening to the 70's & 80's B shows unless you try to cover optional extras.

I don't think WXXM plays the extras though as I'd like to hear them especially the Eddie Van Halen tribute in hour 4 They're playing the optionals on WXXM ... Meaning they're playing "Jump" tonight

I listened to 10/7/72 on WQMV & they played the first & third optional extra but for the second hour they played Sea Of Love the second hour extra from 10-13-84. Also there was some that played the 10/7/78 You Really Got Me tribute but some didn't get the update & played Time Passages. I wonder if any 10/13/84 played I Can't Drive 55 instead of Jump? Finally all the 10/7/72 extra were Ken Martin voiced by Casey created instead of Larry Morgan voiced.

Meaning they're playing "Jump" tonight They might become a favorite of mine for B shows now that I found out they play extras. The only minor negative is it starts late & seems to have the same local ads each break sometimes I was even hearing Illinois political ads on a Michigan station. I think you can blame that on iHeart.

I saw that also where Stir It Up replaced Hello It's Me. Also the listing says 10/23/82 while it's the listing for 10/17/87. I wonder if there will be repeats of last weekend where some stations had the original hour 2 extra Time Passages while others had the Eddie Van Halen tribute You Really Got Me. But sadly I didn't find a station that played the original hour 4 1984 extra I Can't Drive 55 they all had the EVH tribute Jump.

Well, we all know by now what's planned for this weekend. For what seems like an unprecedented third straight week, there are TWO '70s shows and TWO '80s shows so once again my weekend preview will be a two-parter. As always, I'll start with the '70s first. The "A" show for this week is from 10/23/1971 which aired back in 2013. Here is an edited repost. Four songs debuted this week: "Theme From Shaft" - Isaac Hayes (#9) "Imagine" - John Lennon (#20; Hot 100 Debut) "Desiderata" - Les Crane (#35) "I'm Coming Home" - Tommy James (#40) Four songs fell out of the Top 40 this week: "Spanish Harlem" - Aretha Franklin (#21) "Make It Funky (Part 1)" - James Brown (#29) "The Story In Your Eyes" - The Moody Blues (#33) "MacArthur Park (Part II)" - The Four Tops (#38) Biggest Mover: "Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler)" - Marvin Gaye (#35 to #21) Biggest Dropper: "Smiling Faces Sometimes" - The Undisputed Truth (#12 to #30) Original extras: "Reach Out I'll Be There" - The Four Tops "Reason To Believe" - Rod Stewart The Four Tops extra will be in the show. "Reason To Believe" will be played as an optional extra. Premiere optional extras: Hour #1: "Wild Night" - Van Morrison (#63) Hour #2: "Baby I'm-A Want You" - Bread (#77; debuted) Hour #3: "Reason To Believe" - Rod Stewart (original AT40 extra) Of note: "Reason To Believe", which was in the 2013 broadcast, has been demoted to an optional extra, replacing the Chi-Lites' "Have You seen Her?" The "B" show for this week is from 10/22/1977 which aired back in 2015. Here is my repost from then: Four songs debuted this week: "Daybreak" - Barry Manilow (#37) "Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes" - Jimmy Buffett (#38) "My Fair Share" - Seals & Crofts (#39) "Do Your Dance" - Rose Royce (#40) Four songs fell off this week: "Way Down" - Elvis Presley (#28) "Jungle Love" - The Steve Miller Band (#30) "The Greatest Love Of All" - George Benson (#38) "Cat Scratch Fever" - Ted Nugent (#40) Biggest Mover: "Baby, What A Big Surprise" - Chicago (#35 to #17) Biggest Dropper: "Telephone Line" - Electric Light Orchestra (#18 to #31) Original extras: "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" - Jim Croce "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" - Elton John Both songs will actually be included in the broadcasts and not as optional extras. Premiere optional extras: Hour #1: "We Will Rock You" - Queen (#87; debuted) Hour #2: "It's So Easy" - Linda Ronstadt (#49) Hour #3: "Come Sail Away" - Styx (#50) I'll preview the two '80s shows soon.

Now to preview the two '80s shows. The "A" show for this week is from 10/23/1982 which aired in 2013 and 2016. Here is an edited repost. Five songs debuted this week: "Truly" - Lionel Richie (#36) "Love Me Tomorrow" - Chicago (#37) "Young Love" - Air Supply (#38) "Rock This Town" - The Stray Cats (#39) "Get Closer" - Linda Ronstadt (#40) Five songs fell out of the Top 40 this week: "Blue Eyes" - Elton John (#12) "You Should Hear How She Talks About You" - Melissa Manchester (#23) "Jump To It" - Aretha Franklin (#24) "Voyeur" - Kim Carnes (#29) "Hurt So Good" - John Cougar (#39) Biggest Mover: "Muscles" - Diana Ross (#40 to #29) Biggest Dropper: "Hard To Say I'm Sorry" - Chicago (#4 to #16) Original extras: None Long Distance Dedications: "Hey Jude" - The Beatles "Thank You For Being A Friend" - Andrew Gold Premiere optional extras: Hour #1: "Mad World" - Tears For Fears (NR) Hour #2: "It's Raining Again" - Supertramp (NR) Hour #3: "Shadows Of The Night" - Pat Benatar (#57) Hour #4: "What About Me" - Moving Pictures (#51) Of note: Patti Austin & James Ingram's "Baby, Come To Me" and ABC's "The Look Of Love", which were played in the 2013 and 2016 airings, have been replaced by "Mad World" and "It's Raining Again". Not sure why "Mad World" is there given that it doesn't appear to be in the Hot 100 but anyway... The "B" show for this week is from 10/19/1985 which aired back in 2009. Only one debut: "Broken Wings" - Mr. Mister And one song falls out: "The Power Of Love" - Huey Lewis & The News Biggest Mover: "You Belong To The City" - Glenn Frey (#24 to #15) Biggest Dropper (tie): "Don't Lose My Number" - Phil Collins (#16 to #32) "C-I-T-Y" - John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band (#22 to #38) Original extras: None Long Distance Dedications: "Heartlight" - Neil Diamond "Bridge Over Troubled Water" - Simon & Garfunkel Premiere optional extras: Hour #1: "Conga" - Miami Sound Machine (#95; debuted) Hour #2: "Alive & Kicking" - Simple Minds (#52; debuted) Hour #3: "Sleeping Bag" - ZZ Top (#49; highest debut) Hour #4: "Election Day" - Arcadia (NR) Of note: "Sleeping Bag" and "Election Day" replace Baltimora's "Tarzan Boy" and Eddie Murphy's "Party All The Time" respectively. We've had a bunch of deaths in the music world recently so I ask if anybody from ZZ Top or Arcadia die recently?

Premiere optional extras: Hour #1: "Conga" - Miami Sound Machine (#95; debuted) Hour #2: "Alive & Kicking" - Simple Minds (#52; debuted) Hour #3: "Sleeping Bag" - ZZ Top (#49; highest debut) Hour #4: "Election Day" - Arcadia (NR) Of note: "Sleeping Bag" and "Election Day" replace Baltimora's "Tarzan Boy" and Eddie Murphy's "Party All The Time" respectively. Of note: Patti Austin & James Ingram's "Baby, Come To Me" and ABC's "The Look Of Love", which were played in the 2013 and 2016 airings, have been replaced by "Mad World" and "It's Raining Again". Not sure why "Mad World" is there given that it doesn't appear to be in the Hot 100 but anyway... "Mad World" was T4F's first-ever hit, how-be-it not in the US... got as high as #3 in the UK. "It's Raining Again" would début on the Hot 100 IN THE 40 the following week at #31. dL

It will be interesting the next time they get to 1986 to see if they have an extra to honor Tony Lewis of the Outfield that passed away this week. I would say no but a few years ago they had one to honor Pete Burns of Dead Or Alive & I would say the Outfield were just as known as them.

2 things I noticed 1. They cut suddenly from Casey saying Loverboy from Canada to the next segment that sounds odd & 2. at the end they were in a rush to get their credits on they cut off the end of Casey saying ...stars.

I heard that in Albany, NY, 98.3 FM WTRY flipped to Christmas music Sunday they probably will play the Christmas specials the next two months.... I also heard WTOJ in Watertown, NY also gonna play Christmas music as well... So anyone wants to listen to those, those are the two stations I know that will air them
