I just wonder how on earth does this relate to this thread? And what were the other songs not listed?

The classic AT40 shows from this week are repeats in the truest form (On KQLL, I heard Ed McMann's voiceover before the 1980's show was played; Mike Kasem must be on vacation).
This week's 1970's show is from 6/18/1977
Three songs debuted this week: "All You Get From Love Is A Love Song" - The Carpenters "It's Sad To Belong" - England Dan & John Ford Coley "Peace Of Mind" - Boston
The songs that fell off were: "Hello Stranger" - Yvonne Elliman "Southern Nights" - Glen Campbell "Slowdown" - John Miles
Extras: None
The 1980's show is from 6/4/1983
Three debuts that week: "Wanna Be Startin' Something" - Michael Jackson "Every Breath You Take" - The Police "The Closer You Get" - Alabama
Three songs fell off this week: "Come On Eileen" - Dexys Midnight Runners "Mr. Roboto" - Styx "Mornin'" - Al Jarreau
Extras: "25 Or 6 To 4" - Chicago
Long Distance Dedications: "Out Here On My Own" - Irene Cara "Up Where We Belong" - Joe Cocker & Jennifer Warnes

This weekend, Premiere's presentation of AT40: The '80's will highlight 6/13/1987.
Three songs debuted that week: "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You" - Miami Sound Machine "Kiss Him Goodbye" - The Nylons "Girls, Girls, Girls" - Motley Crue
Falling off the chart that week: "Talk Dirty To Me" - Poison "Day-In, Day-Out" - David Bowie "You Can Call Me Al" - Paul Simon
Extras: "Vacation" - The Go-Go's "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" - Marvin Gaye
Long Distance Dedications: "Suddenly" - Billy Ocean "With Or Without You" - U2 (#9 this week)
I'll have a more detailed explanation concerning this week's 1970's show (kinda complex and gutsy choice by Premiere).

This week's At40: The '70s will spotlight 6/9/1973. I will not be spotlighting the usual debuts/droppers here because the chart displayed here is vastly different from the one that appeared in Billboard. Billboard was changing its' Hot 100 and after the chart was given to AT40, the Billboard people realized there were some errors and a new chart was made albeit too late for AT40 to use. Here are the Top 40 songs that will be aired on AT40 accompanied by its' actual ranking on Billboard for that week:

To update on the 6/13/1987 show after listening to KQLL, I suspect Premiere must have deleted "Vacation" from this show. "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" stayed in.

Given how most hit music then was synthesized or otherwise "processed within an inch of its life", as I once heard it described, it's not terribly surprising. Even "I'll Still Be Loving You" had "processed" influences in its sound.

This week's AT40: The '70s features 6/26/1971:
Six songs debuted this week: "Bring The Boys Home" - Freda Payne "Never Ending Song Of Love" - Delaney & Bonnie & Friends "Take Me Home, Country Roads" - John Denver "Escape-ism (Part 1)" - James Brown "Draggin' The Line" - Tommy James "Get It On" - Chase

I just wonder how on earth does this relate to this thread? And what were the other songs not listed? It's only mildly related, we will NEVER hear this show in the AT40 series but I can give you the complete listing: oldradioshows.com/ct40/052690sct40.html

Forgot to add Carole King's "I Feel The Earth Move" to the extras column of the 6/26/1971 show. "I Feel The Earth Move" was played by Premiere as one of the optional extras this week. "Teen Angel" and "Too Young" were both kept in the show as I mentioned earlier.

If Premiere wanted to pay tribute to MJ by broadcasting shows with him or the Jackson 5 at #1, there are both 70s and 80s weeks that could pull it off - July 4, 1970 ("The Love You Save/I Found That Girl" by Jackson 5) and July 2, 1988 ("Dirty Diana").
The former would be something of a double treat, as it was AT40's first show EVER. (It turns out that June 27, the week prior, also saw them at #1 anyway.)
I was surprised to check and discover that he had a hit at #1 around this date in 1988, because I wouldn't have thought that he did.

Won't happen for two reasons
1. When AT40 started, they used the Billboard chart for the following week (the 7/4 show used the chart from 7/11). "Mama Told Me (Not To Come)" by Three Dog Night was the first #1 song on AT40.
2. Scott Evans filled in for Casey on the 7/2/1988 show which was "Dirty Diana's" only week at #1.
This week's AT40 offerings from Premiere are from 6/22/1974 when the Jackson Five's "Dancing Machine" charted and 6/28/1980 when Michael Jackson's "She's Out Of My Life" charted.
