OTOH that may have been a Premiere error as Larry Morgan's outro had it "entering the Hot 100 at #94" which was where "Sweet Sixteen" debuted on the 4/25/1987 chart. Premiere gotta Premiere?

One '80s show and two '70s shows and Memorial Day specials which means once again my weekend preview will be a two-parter. The '80s starts first. "AT40: The '80s" this week presents 5/28/1983 which previously aired in 2015. Here is an edited repost: Seven songs debuted this week: "We Two" - Little River Band (#32) "The Woman In You" - The Bee Gees (#33) "That's Love" - Jim Capaldi (#34) "All This Love" - DeBarge (#35) "Come Dancing" - The Kinks (#37) "All My Life" - Kenny Rogers (#38) "Our House" - Madness (#40) Seven songs fell out of the Top 40 this week: "Even Now" - Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band (#26) "Billie Jean" - Michael Jackson (#29) "I Couldn't Say No" - Robert Ellis Orral with Carlene Carter (#32) "It Might Be You" Stephen Bishop (#35) "Some Kind Of Friend" - Barry Manilow (#36) "Gimme All Your Lovin'" - ZZ Top (#37) "Separate Ways" - Journey (#38) Biggest Mover (four-way tie): "Always Something There To Remind Me" - Naked Eyes (#18 to #12) "Faithfully" - Journey (#19 to #13) "Don't Let It End" - Styx (#20 to #14) "Electric Avenue" - Eddy Grant (#31 to #25) Biggest Dropper (tie): "Mornin'" - Jarreau (#21 to #29) "Mr. Roboto" - Styx (#23 to #31) Original extras: "You're The One That I Want" - John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John Long Distance Dedications: "Even The Nights Are Better" - Air Supply "Missing You" - Dan Fogelberg Premiere optional extras: Hour #1: "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" - Bonnie Tyler (NR) Hour #2: "Every Breath You Take" - The Police (NR) Hour #3: "She Works Hard For The Money" - Donna Summer (#67; debuted) Hour #4: "Burning Up" - Madonna (NR) Of note: Premiere has replaced Michael Jackson's "Wanna Be Startin' Something" as the Hour #1 op extra with "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" likely due to the recent death of that song's writer/producer Jim Steinman (although usually more associated with Meat Loaf). The Holiday special will be Part 3 of the Chronological 1980's #1 Countdown (from November 1984 through May 1986). Optional extras are... Hour #1: "Cherish" - Kool & The Gang Hour #2: "Party All The Time" - Eddie Murphy Hour #3: "Easy Lover" - Philip Bailey & Phil Collins Hour #4: "All I Need" - Jack Wagner

BTW it appears that Premiere is not planning anything specifically special for July 4th weekend (last year, I figured the very first show on the 50th anniversary was the intended special for both '70s and '80s) but keep your eyes and ears peeled for any news from affiliates like WPNC or WTOJ for special AT40 programming.

To what i heard that WPNC will have a 4 Day marathon, airing mostly Year End countdowns with a few surprises this time out, on Tues 6/29 thru Fri 7/2 from 6a ET til Midnight...

I believe Premiere is offering stations the usual gamut of shows for around the 4th. Nothing new.
