Just an update: Premiere has switched "I Honestly Love You" from the 1974 "A" show airing with Kool & The Gang's "Hollywood Swinging" in honor of Dennis Thomas who recently died. Methinks Premiere will switch one of the 1981 extras with a Kool & The Gang song too.

Somehow I don't think we'll be able to hear 1983 this weekend. WXXM opted to air 1981 instead of 1983.

VEVO back in 2015 released a different edit of "Don't Look Back," where unlike the previous radio edit which faded from a loop of one of the guitar lines, the ending of the song is included... did Premiere use that in '17, or could they? dL

Keep an eye for both 1979 and 1971 to see if Premiere replaces any optional extras with Stones extras.

My station WNSN fm didn't play updated opt xtra 4 Rolling Stones Waiting on a Friend. They only played original ones: Steel Breeze. Stones don't completely fit the (80's AC hits) format at Sunny 101.5... no surprise there. dL

For the record, KOKZ (1979) aired "Dependin' On You" in Hour #4 instead of "Shattered". They're a classic rock station so maybe they received their copy before it got updated.

And this last post of the week is for a special '90s edition of AT40 (though outside of WPNC and possibly WTOJ, I don't know how many Classic AT40 affiliates will air this one).
The special '90s edition is from 9/5/1998.
Three songs debuted and one song re-enters: "I Will Wait" - Hootie & The Blowfish (#24) "Intergalactic" - The Beastie Boys (re-entry; #36) "Jumper" - Third Eye Blind (#38) "Are You That Somebody?" - Aaliyah (#40)
Four songs fell off this week: "All My Life" - K-C & Jojo (#23) "To Love You More" - Celine Dion (#34) "Kind & Generous" - Natalie Merchant (#35) "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)" - Green Day (#40)
Biggest Mover: "Hooch" - Everything (#37 to #31) Biggest Dropper: "Can't Get Enough Of You Baby" - Smash Mouth (#22 to #30)
Original extras: None
Long Distance Dedications: "I Will Always Love You" - Whitney Houston "So Far Away" - Rod Stewart "I Will Remember You" - Sarah McLachlan
Premiere optional extras (a.k.a. America's Top Hits mostly) Hour #1: "Foolish Games" - Jewel (#1, 1997) Hour #2: "All I Want" - Toad The Wet Sprocket (#7, 1992) Hour #3: "The Power Of Good-Bye" - Madonna Hour #4: "As I Lay Me Down" - Sophie B. Hawkins (#5, 1995)

If their charts were from R&R in '98, would they have used Sept 4th or 11th? dL

If their charts were from R&R in '98, would they have used Sept 4th or 11th? dL As I understand it, AT40s--and Casey's Top 40's--that used Radio & Records used the issue dated a week and a day before the countdown's actual airdate. So this particular show used the chart from the August 28, 1998 issue.

I'm surprised I haven't seen any Labor Day announcement from WPNC as to whether or not they'll air any special AT40 programming.

So WPNC is apparently airing Casey on Labor Day. At 6AM ET, they aired the "Top 10 Producers' Special" from 1974. Now, they're airing Part Four of the Chronological #1 '80s Hits Special.
So maybe there's hope for that 1998 show yet.
