Apparently WTOJ did not play the "Always And Forever" extra in Hour #1. Instead, they somehow deleted "Evil Ways" (which was in the actual Premiere broadcast) and played it as that hour's optional extra instead.
Kinda makes me wonder if '70s affiliates besides WTOJ aired the "Escape" extra a few weeks ago when they aired the Top 100 of 1979 show a few weeks back.

Let's bump this thread back up. This weekend, again there is one '80s show and two '70s shows so again my weekend preview will be a two-parter. Again, we'll start with the '80s show first. "AT40: The '80s" this week presents 2/5/1983 which last aired way back in 2011. The '70s preview is coming up.

Once again, this needs to be bumped back up. This weekend, there is only one '70s show this time but two '80s shows so once again the weekend preview will be a two-parter and I'll do the '70s first. "AT40: The '70s" this week presents 2/14/1976. Here is a repost from 2013: Five songs debuted this week: "Sweet Thing" - Rufus Featuring Chaka Khan (#31) "Dream On" - Aerosmith (#34) "Money Honey" - The Bay City Rollers (#38) "Sweet Love" - The Commodores (#39) "Tangerine" - The Salsoul Orchestra (#40) Five songs fell out of the Top 40 this week: "Walk Away From Love" - David Ruffin (#23) "Paloma Blanca" - The George Baker Selection (#32) "Love Or Leave" - The Spinners (#36) "Fly Away" - John Denver (#37) "Breakaway" - Art Garfunkel (#39) Biggest Mover: "December 1963 (Oh What A Night)" - The Four Seasons (#28 to #18) Biggest Dropper (tie): "I Love Music" - The O'Jays (#12 to #35) "Theme From 'Mahogany' (Do You Know Where You're Going To)" - Diana Ross (#14 to #37) Original extras: "Someday We'll Be Together" - Diana Ross & The Supremes "Cupid" - Sam Cooke Just as last week's show was one of the two extras has been deleted from this weekend's broadcast with the unfortunate honor going to "Someday We'll Be Together". "Cupid" will be played as one of the optional extras Premiere optional extras: Hour #1: "Right Back Where We Started From" - Maxene Nightengale (#95; debuted) Hour #2: "Cupid" - Sam Cooke (original AT40 extra) Hour #3: "Let Your Love Flow" - The Bellamy Brothers (#68) Before I continue, I want to say how on Earth does Premiere keep airing the 2/14/1976 show but not including "Someday We'll Be Together" every time? This is the fifth time Premiere has aired this countdown overall and every time without the Supremes extra. It's just as bad as continually airing the 5/14/1977 show but without the "Theme From Shaft" extra included (At least WTOJ did include "Shaft" as their own op extra last year when the 5/14/1977 show aired). Seriously Premiere. WTF?!?!? '80s preview is coming up soon.

BOTW and "Pony Time" were #1 one and ten years before the 1971 show was originally aired, so I guess they'll be introduced by reconstructed clips of Casey that make it sound as if he introed them originally.

I wish Toby Petty were in the Casey/AT40 FB group(s), and/or the AT40F&G forum elsewhere at proboards, so he can experience our views firsthand! Between the current and Casey shows he can't be that busy!! EDIT: And for jdelachjr2002, 3/13/71 is a Ken Martin remix. You should introduce yourself to him sometime... mailto:ken_martin@commbroadcasters.com dL

Now to preview the two '70s shows. The "A" show for this week is from 3/18/1972. Here is an earlier repost. Four songs debuted this week: "Rockin' Robin" - Michael Jackson (#33) "Glory Bound" - The Grass Roots (#35) "Every Day Of My Life" - Bobby Vinton (#39) "Take A Look Around" - The Temptations (#40) Four songs fell out of the Top 40 this week: "Never Been To Spain" - Three Dog Night (#26) "The Nickel Song" - Melanie (#35) "You Want It, You Got It" - The Detroit Emeralds (#36) "Until It's Time For You To Go" - Elvis Presley (#40) Biggest Mover (tie): "A Cowboys Work Is Never Done" - Sonny & Cher (#33 to #23) "In The Rain" - The Dramatics (#27 to #17) Biggest Dropper: "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)" - Donnie Elbert (#22 to #38) Original extras: "Penny Lane" - The Beatles "Penny Lane", which was previously played as an optional extra, will actually be included in the broadcast. Premiere optional extras: Hour #1: "The Family Of Man" - Three Dog Night (NR) Hour #2: "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" - Roberta Flack (#42) Hour #3: "Tiny Dancer" - Elton John (#53) The "B" show for this week is from 3/18/1978. Here is an edited repost Two songs debuted this week: "The Closer I Get To You" - Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway (#39) "Feels So Good" - Chuck Mangione (#40) Two songs fell off this week: "Theme From Close Encounters Of The Third Kind" - John Williams (#27) "Poor Poor Pitiful Me" - Linda Ronstadt (#31) Biggest Mover: "We'll Never Have To Say Goodbye Again" - England Dan & John Ford Coley (#39 to #26) Biggest Dropper: "Peg" - Steely Dan (#11 to #32) Original extras: None Premiere optional extras: Hour #1: "Movin' Out (Anthony's Song)" - Billy Joel (#79; debuted) Hour #2: "Two Doors Down" - Dolly Parton (#69; highest debut) Hour #3: "Imaginary Lover" - The Atlanta Rhythm Section (#45) Of note: Premiere replaces Meat Loaf's "Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad" with "Imaginary Lover" as the Hour #3 extra although I'm not sure if anybody on the Atlanta Rhythm Section died recently (then again, they did play "Two Out Of Three" for 1978 last time also as a "B" show since Meat Loaf had recently died). Seriously, I wish Premiere would keep the optional extra lineups for "B" shows the same unless somebody died.

I need to ask this: Is Premiere desperate for advertisers for the Casey AT40 shows they need to resort to airing ads for Newsmax?!?!?

Of note: Premiere replaces Meat Loaf's "Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad" with "Imaginary Lover" as the Hour #3 extra although I'm not sure if anybody on the Atlanta Rhythm Section died recently (then again, they did play "Two Out Of Three" for 1978 last time also as a "B" show since Meat Loaf had recently died). A guitarist from Atlanta Rhythm Section passed away last weekend, though I wouldn't think he was well-known enough for an optional extra.

I need to ask this: Is Premiere desperate for advertisers for the Casey AT40 shows they need to resort to airing ads for Newsmax?!?!? That network would be more at home on "The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show," successor-in-fact to Premiere's best-known host, the late Rush Limbaugh. Maybe Newsmax overspent on ad time. dL
