Has anyone heard the April 7th 1973 show? Casey just had that question about less than usual occurrences when a song falls from #1 then climbs back in and it happened with Roberta Flack. How does Casey tease (if at all) that there's a new number one and it wasn't what they predicted? Nobody would have guessed that Vicky Lawerence would make that big a jump.

That week's chart actually doesn't air; instead, that week had a special focusing on the most popular records from the last five years.

NOTES: - Remember when the March 9 show aired in 2010, and how crazy it was that that show's second hour started all the way up at #28? Guess what - this one does too! Actually, the full show's layout is the same as well (Hour 3 starting with #19, and Hour 4 starting with #9).
- Casey did mention for both Sade and Simple Minds that they were tied for the week's Biggest Mover.
- From the "How Bizarre" files: The artists behind both LDDs each having but one song separating their LDD from their countdown song this week. Meanwhile, not long after the second LDD, Madonna gets both of her countdown songs together in her own segment.
- Casey's tease for the final segment references that the #1 song is from the week's #1 album. On the surface, it sounds like a non-spoiler, but considering the We Are the World album hadn't been released yet, it actually was.
- #1 on the Soul chart: "Nightshift"
- #1 on the Country chart: "Country Girls" by John Schneider
- #1 on the Album chart: No Jacket Required by Phil Collins

Sunday morning, 105.1 The River (WJDX-FM)) had somehow mistakenly aired the March 28, 1987 edition. No offense but, what do these weekly posts of yours add to this thread? Have you seen this thread? Much more small talk over there. Here, there's more substance. (Thus, 83 pages here, not 1093). Again, no offense intended. Well, not much. That's the American Top 40 Fun & Games site. I think I'll check it out. :)

"All Right" 's own debut at that exact same position when it started was a Hot 100 debut - and yet here it is now, on the way down after under-performing. And of course, between the two is "Overkill" also debuting on the Hot 100 this week.
- In light of that last fact, that makes Larry Morgan's mention of "My Love" being the highest debut of the week an obvious error (hence why I don't list it so above).
- The "Affair of the Heart" selection is the exact same scenario as when "Causing a Commotion" was picked for 9-5-87 two years ago - debuted on next week's Hot 100, except that week had a guest host (Bob Eubanks), then the following week it debuted in The 40.
- Second LDD writer Michael referred to the song by its subtitle.
- Another week where the #1s for Country, Soul, and Dance are all within The 40 (see also 5-19-84); Casey mentioned for "Jeopardy" that that was the new #1 this week on the Dance/Disco chart.
- #1 on the Country chart: "We've Got Tonight"
- #1 on the Soul chart: "Billie Jean"
- #1 on the Album chart: Thriller by Michael Jackson

- ROB DURKEE ALERT: He sent in a correction to Casey's list of acts who've hit The 40 with both studio and live versions of the same song.
- Story behind "Take Good Care of My Baby" as an Extra: Bobby Vee, prior to his prolific (38 chart singles) solo career, was lead singer for the group The Shadows, whose professional debut resulted from appearing at a show in Moorhead, MN. This was a show that happened not long after the famous plane crash better known as The Day the Music Died (Casey focuses on its important and most relevant details rather than telling its whole story); the crash resulted in holes in the show that needed filling, and The Shadows were one such "replacement" act. No specific reason given for picking "Take Good Care of My Baby", though it is his biggest hit.
- There's a Lennon in every hour in this show, with his three solo hits from Double Fantasy all heard in separate hours, and "Ticket to Ride" as the third Archive, separate from all three of those!
- #1 on the Soul chart: "Being With You"
- #1 on the Country chart: "Old Flame" by Alabama
- #1 on the Album chart: REO Speedwagon with Hi Infidelity
