- This is actually the only week where we'll actually hear "It's Inevitable", even if Premiere aired guest-hosted shows. You see, on the following week (hosted by Keri Tombazian), AT40 screwed up and accidentally played "Pieces of Ice" in its place at #38.
- A bit of an unusual chart happening in the case of "Stand Back" - this was its third week at #9, which...how often did that happen between later 1983 and 1991 when the song was in fact not yet peaking?
- EVEN MORE UNUSUAL: Larry Morgan's intro for "Kiss the Bride", mentioning another currently-charting song ("White Wedding") and giving its chart position, along with Elton's.
- #1 on the Country chart: "Your Love's on the Line" by Earl Thomas Conley
- #1 on the Soul chart: "She Works Hard For the Money"
- #1 on the Album chart: Synchronicity by The Police

Now it's time for this weekend's '80s preview which is two shows. Both of which are recent repeats. The "A" show for this week is from 8/15/1987 which aired back in 2012. Here was my preview from back then: For the record, this was during the time when George Michael's "I Want Your Sex" was in the countdown and - unlike the 6/20/1987 show we heard earlier this year - Casey does not mention the song's title and since "I Want Your Sex" was at #2 the previous week, Casey does not begin the show with the full Top 3 recap as he normally did. Seven songs debuted this week: "Touch Of Grey" - Grateful Dead (#32) "Lies" - Jonathan Butler (#35) "I Heard A Rumour" - Bananarama (#36) "Jam Tonight" - Freddie Jackson (#37) "Who Found Who" - Jellybean featuring Elisa Fiorillo (#38) "I Need Love" - LL Cool J (#39) "One Heartbeat" - Smokey Robinson (#40) Seven songs fell out of the Top 40 this week: "Girls, Girls, Girls" - Motley Crue (#24) "Hearts On Fire" - Bryan Adams (#26) "Something So Strong" - Crowded House (#27) "Point Of No Return" - Expose (#30) "Don't Disturb This Groove" - The System (#31) "Happy" - Surface (#35) "Funkytown" - Psuedo Echo (#38) Biggest Mover: "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" - Michael Jackson Featuring Siedah Garrett (#37 to #16) Biggest Dropper: "Kiss Him Goodbye" - The Nylons (#18 to #34) Interestingly enough, Whitney Houston had the second biggest moving song ("Didn't We Almost Have It All") and the second biggest dropping song ("I Wanna Dance With Somebody"). Original extras: None Long Distance Dedications: "Lean On Me" - Club Nouveau "Suspicious Minds" - Elvis Presley (the special live version of the song in honor of the 10th year anniversary of Elvis' death) Premiere optional extras: Hour #1: "Oh Yeah" - Yello (#82) Hour #2: "U Got The Look" - Prince with Sheena Easton (#54) Hour #3: "Carrie" - Europe (#46) Hour #4: "Who Will You Run To" - Heart (#64; debuted) The "B" show for this week is from 8/14/1982 which previously aired in 2011. Here was my preview from back then: Four songs debuted this week: "Only Time Will Tell" - Asia (#35) "Blue Eyes" - Elton John (#38) "I Really Don't Need No Light" - Jeffrey Osborne (#39) "Someday Someway" - Marshall Crenshaw (#40) Four songs fell out of the Top 40 this week: "Caught Up In You" - .38 Special (#35) "Love Plus One" - Haircut One Hundred (#37) "Still They Ride" - Journey (#39) "Early In The Morning" - The Gap Band (#40) Biggest Mover: "Jack And Diane" - John Cougar (Mellencamp) (#33 to #27) Biggest Dropper: "What Kind Of Fool Am I" - Rick Springfield (#21 to #36) Original extra: "I Can Help" - Billy Swan Long Distance Dedications: "Waiting For A Girl Like You" - Foreigner "Rainy Night In Georgia" - Brook Benton Premiere optional extras: "You Can Do Magic" - America (#43) "Hold On" - Santana (#72; highest debut) "I Keep Forgettin' (Every Time You're Near)" - Michael McDonald (#55) "Should I Stay Or Should I Go" - The Clash (#61)

Consequently, the last segment in Hour 1 was all by itself.
- VERY unusual for Casey to actually point out the week's Biggest Dropper in "Wasted on the Way", given how high up it still was - but even with him doing that, it's peanuts compared to the songs that all fell out of the countdown entirely. And remember, this is 1982 we're talking about here...so, here goes: "Vacation", 11-57; "American Music", 16-81; "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going", 22-84; "Keep the Fire Burnin' ", 26-85.
- Then again, it's also one of only three songs dropping within the countdown at all - and the other two only stepped down one notch each. Of course, one of those two was a prelude to a now-infamous drop the following week...
- "Monday Monday" accompanied a "Whatever Happened to...?" report on the group.
- So...there's been times where "I'm So Excited" has been played on back-to-back weeks. Well, due to the selection of A/B shows on this week, now it gets played on both shows in the same week.
- #1 on the Album chart: American Fool by John Cougar
- #1 on the Country chart: "She Got the Goldmine (I Got the Shaft)" by Jerry Reed
- #1 on the Soul chart: "Jump to It"
