Good to See two of my favorite writers got cuts (Tony Lane & Leslie Satcher) but I dont have much faith in Kix's abilities as a vocalist and couldn't get the link to work anyways.

But he WISHES he was ! Which is kinda the point of the song. A Fresh start for Kix Brooks.

Got this album today and wasn't to impressed on first listen. I'm really hooked on " complete 360". She knew i was a cowboy, closing time at home and in the right place were the only other decent tracks imo. I was expecting a album better than ronnies was but i think it's not as good.

Why would you expect it to be better than Ronnie's? Ronnie has always been the main talent behind Brooks & Dunn. I haven't listened to Kix's album because I don't think I can get through that many songs with him singing. I've never been a big fan of his voice.

For The Last Time.......... You Are NOT NEW To This Town, Kix! ;)Namaste, lisping HIBISCUS Insert obvious joke about how you can't even hear Kix on B&D's songs anyway, so he pretty much is new to this town. Hell, on most of their songs, John Wesley Ryles is more prominent as a backing vocalist than Kix is.

^ i just meant material wise i expected it to be better than ronnies. But " lost and found" and " you're gonna miss me when I'm gone" are two of my favorites and both are sung by kix. But i agree his voice irritated me alot

I don't mind Kix' voice on the songs he sang, and I thought he sounded great on "New to This Town". But they just buried him so damn low in the mix on B&D's stuff (or in some cases, such as "Believe", he didn't sing AT ALL).

This CD takes a few listens before you really appreciate it... It's unique with many textures and is just plain a lot of fun. For his vocal limitations, he MORE than makes up for it with his grit, raw emotion and attitude. It definitely put me in a better frame of mind driving in to work this morning.

My gosh, I just heard Kix interviewed on Crook & Chase, and he spoke well and was interesting and engaging. Why can't he do that on his own show? It'd be about a thousand percent better!

I bought this because I'm a diehard B&D fan. I definitely like the swampy, gritty sound although I still get annoyed by his voice. I've always been more of a Ronnie fan and that hasn't changed.

I'm going to guess I'm one of the few who preferred Kix to Ronnie right?? I really like this album, it's high points aren't as high as Ronnie's, but Ronnie had a weaker album in my opinion. I doubt this will do well even if he gets a big hit though, Ronnie was always the star of the show.

He's a great guitar player with a unique voice but gets overshadowed by a powerful, more palatable voice in his group and likely as a solo artist too, despite delivering a more satisfying record.
