It looks as if Shania Twain has parted ways with UMG Nashville, as she is no longer listed on their website. If she is still under the UMG umbrella, I wonder if it is Republic Records and not Republic Nashville. Or, if it is indeed a re-launch of Republic Nashville under UMG and she is the first artist signed. Only time will tell. On a closer look, they could mean Republic Records. I'll put the entire blurb here.

Looks to me it is Republic Nashville based on the second paragraph.

Yep. It appears that Republic Records is beginning a Nashville division and she’s the flagship artist. So this would be separate to BMLG Records, to my understanding.

I do believe he asked to be released from the label I think Warner had a good thing going with him but he was slipping in album sales and radio singles, hopefully another label will sign him and give his career a boost. Labels like Big Loud, Triple Tigers & Quartz Hill could do wonders for his career I do not think we have seen the last of Chris Janson as an artist. Considering he and his wife's teamed with BMLG Records on a label called Harpeth 60 Records, I can see a time where Janson will land at one of BMLG's labels under that same banner. It makes too much sense. Even if he doesn't end up with BMLG, he'll likely end up on another label with that imprint tied to whatever home he finds. Im hoping for BMLG myself the label needs some new artist's after losing Florida Georgia Line yes a fresh start at BMLG sounds good.

So this is a new Republic Records? Not to be mistaken with the Republic Records affiliated with the pop genre?

No information about the label can be found only that Shania Twain is there flagship artist, im guessing it's seperate from umg nashville being that she was removed from the offical website.

So this is a new Republic Records? Not to be mistaken with the Republic Records affiliated with the pop genre? No, it is Republic Records, the pop label based out of New York. The article includes a quote from Monte Lipman, who is CEO of Republic Records in New York. So Shania is not with UMG/Mercury Nashville anymore, nor is she with BMLG (formerly known as Republic Nashville). She is essentially a Republic Records artist now, but they referred to it as “Republic Nashville” since she will likely still be marketed as “country”. Being signed to New York-based Republic Records will help her with crossover appeal, although it probably won’t matter much in terms of radio airplay as I doubt radio (country and/or other formats) will give significant airtime to any of her new music, unfortunately.

Do y’all think the switch was done on her own terms or do y’all think that UMG Nashville wanted to part ways?

Do y’all think the switch was done on her own terms or do y’all think that UMG Nashville wanted to part ways? My guess (just a guess, not a fact) is that her contract with UMG Nashville was up, and since she wanted to release new music, she probably shopped around for a label partner and chose Republic. But again, that’s just my guess.

But again, that’s just my guess. This is correct. Her contract was finished and she found another partner in UMG overall in Republic. Republic already has Morgan Wallen and Lily Rose in tandem with Big Loud Records so I could see them using Big Loud to promote Shania until the label beefs up its Nashville operations again.

Tenille Arts has signed with Dreamcatcher Artists for record label as their flagship artist. The company is a full service offshoot of Dreamcatcher Management. They purchased the rights to all of Tenille’s recordings and will release “Jealous of Myself” in the near future. With this deal, she now partially-owns her music.

Bmlg could now use a good female artist or two any thoughts a couple I have in mind are Emily Ann Roberts and Maggie Baugh.

I think they are through the roof they finally were able to break one with Carly, who is the only one being able to find consistent success since Taylor Swift. They have a good many on their roster, they just haven’t been able to break them (Danielle Bradbury, Calista Clark, they’re currently trying with Tiera)

I read an article about it a while back and it mentioned that’s why she gets strong influential streaming playlisting (Over the past couple of months I’ve seen ‘Stop draggging your boots‘ at #1 on hot country and it’s already streamed better than most #1’s these days with no radio play). She’s one they should get back on the road to open for A/B list artists with some small headlining dates next year, release a single they want to push to radio but start with investing in playlisting- building the streaming numbers and if it connects, try for radio with her again.

Yeah I don’t get it, she has a solid following, great streaming numbers, and a heck of a voice. She should be getting radio play. Honestly, I do kinda get it and it goes back a little to how nowadays radio is needed to be a superstar in a format but not a successful artist in a format as well as timing and sound of format. There’s very limited slots on radio ESPECIALLY for females and they tried several times with uptempo, a ballad, even a song with Thomas Rhett that only made top 40 yet she was getting solid streams, even to the level of some #1’s on radio. With how streaming is such a HUGE factor in the industry now and seeing how it’s her strongest suit (right now), I see why the label is investing in her strong suit (that many other artists struggle to do) for the best ROI probably with the hopes of something she creates/releases at some point connects, goes viral and fits in with the current country radio landscape (streaming, GP and industry buzz and reviews, maybe even TikTok) where radio pretty much can’t ignore it and then they allocate resources to radio moving her to the next level of her career.

She’s on RECORDS. Columbia used to promote RECORDS artists before RECORDS got their own office and promo staff in Nashville. The label is backed by Sony NY.
