7. Love "We Can't Stop" but it better not block "Royals"! Oh, I'm sure it won't. Though, "Wrecking Ball" and "Royals" may have fun near the top in a few weeks. Why are you counting by 7s? 14. "Blurred Lines" still climbing? lol IKR? It just has yet to really die for me. 21. "Crazy Kids" still in your top 10? lol Slay$ha I'm assuming this is "Love Somebody." 42. what the f**k is 78violet Skip to 3:29 and fall in love49. Big Sean version of "Wild" :( TBH, never heard the version with Dizee Rascal Flatts or whatever his name is. 63. lol "My Songs" was still in until last week? lol, yes, despite a peak of "only" 3, it had incredible longevity 70. "It won't refuse to die" I think you messed that up Oh. 77. That s**t is 7x Platinum are you f**king serious? Must be "Love Somebody" again. :kii: 92. What period did you determine your summer chart from? It seems more recent than I'd expect. Like, it looks like the last 1.5-2-ish months, not 3. May 13-August 17. The dates in between my high school graduation (the 12th) and college move-in day (August 18) 111. "Safe and Sound" #2 on everything! Most unfortunate song of the year, tbh. @jback - why'd you delete your post? :(

Why are you counting by 7s? To spice things up! :) Don't mention it. Sounds ok. But you didn't answer my question. That name, seriously... >_< Give it a try, Dizzee's part is awesome. Oh.

Sounds ok. But you didn't answer my question. You mean it sounds great and you're going to chart it, right? Anyway, 78violet used to be named Aly & AJ. They're two sisters (like The Veronicas), but not twins (unlike The Veronicas). Aly (Alyson) is best-known for her role as Keely (sp?), the lovable present-time friend from Phil of the Future and the lead in Hellcats. Her younger sister, AJ (Amanda) has had smaller roles in films such as The Lovely Bones, Super 8, and Secretariat (for which she did a solo song for). They first came together to record a cover of The Lovin' Spoonful's "Do You Believe In Magic?" for Alyson's Disney Channel Original Movie, Now You See It..., and soon scored a record deal with Hollywood Records. They then recorded an original song called "No One" for the Disney film, Ice Princess, and a cover of "Walking on Sunshine" for Herbie: Fully Loaded. That same summer, they released their debut album, Into the Rush, which included the three previous singles and introduced the new single, "Rush." "Rush" was used in promos for the DCOM, Twitches, starring Tia and Tamara Mowry. A few months later, "Rush" was given an official push to radio, peaking at #41 on pop and helped the album achieve gold status. They also released "On the Ride" from the album as a promotional single for the DCOM, Cow Belles, in which both sisters starred. Into the Rush was re-released soon after with three new singles: "Chemicals React," which reached the mid-50s on pop and was re-recorded in Simlish for the hit video game series, The Sims, and two Christian rock singles, "Shine" and "Never Far Behind," the latter of which grabbed them some attention in the Christian music world, though they are not a Christian music band. They then released Acoustic Hearts of Winter, a Christmas album that spawned the small digital hit, "Greatest Time of Year," which was used in The Santa Clause 3. The next summer, Aly & AJ released their second album, Insomniatic, to decent reviews and success. The album spawned the hit single, "Potential Breakup Song," which despite only peaking at #47 on pop radio, made it to #17 on the Hot 100. The song has since sold roughly 800k in the US with the album going gold as well. The follow-up single, "Like Whoa," was not given a push to radio, but was used in promos for the DCOM Minutemen and was even featured in the video game, Band Hero. For their third album, Aly & AJ decided to reinvent themselves, asking fans to create their new logo for their brand new band name: 78violet. They began work on their third album, which they announced would be influenced by "classic rock" and would feature less harmonization and more separation between their vocals. A track from the upcoming album leaked, entitled "The Next Worst Thing," and was even picked up by an alternative rock station. However, nothing happened. The song was never released to iTunes, never given a push to radio, and faded away quickly. The album was soon shelved and 78violet announced they were leaving Hollywood Records. In 2012, 78violet announced that they had begun work on a brand new album under new management, and word about the upcoming lead single, "Hothouse," leaked in January 2013. "Hothouse" was released with its music video early July 2013, with the album slated for a late 2013 release. The girls are currently releasing music independently. Despite not releasing a new single since January 2008, the name change, and the label change, "Hothouse" managed to reach the top 200 on iTunes within the first 24 hours of release.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet the brand new number one, “Royals” by New Zealand teenager Lorde. “Royals” leaps to number one with a massive increase in points to take the top spot away from Miley Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop.” However, Miley fans have no reason to fret. “We Can’t Stop” barely loses points while she debuts at number 35 with “Wrecking Ball,” the new track from her album, Bangerz, due out later this year. “We Can’t Stop” is pushed down to number two while Karmin jumps to number three with “Acapella.” Surprisingly, “Safe and Sound” remains steady at number four while “Blurred Lines” is the one pushed down to number five after reaching a new peak of number three last week. With “Acapella” rushing into the top three, Bruno Mars’ “Treasure” is kicked out of the top five despite remaining steady in points. The rest of the top ten is pretty active. Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding reach a new peak of number seven this week with “I Need Your Love” while Ke$ha’s former number one smash, “Crazy Kids,” slips to number ten. The top ten sees a new entry and a re-entry. Kelly Clarkson’s country single, “Tie It Up,” leaps to a new peak of number eight this week, making it Clarkson’s fourth top ten hit in a row. “Tie It Up” matches the peak of “People Like Us” and out peaks “Don’t Rush.” 78violet re-enter the top ten with “Hothouse” at number nine. The two new tracks in the top ten kick out Maroon 5’s “Love Somebody,” slipping to number 14, and Anna Kendrick’s “Cups,” yet again falling out of the top ten at number 13. The chart’s biggest increase of the week goes to Katy Perry’s “Roar,” which rockets from 40 to 22 (just like “Royals” did in its second week, hint hint) with an increase of 4.1 points. Other songs reaching new peaks this week are Taylor Swift’s “Red” up 19 to 12, surpassing “Everything Has Changed” for the first time since “Red”’s re-entry week, Zendaya’s “Replay” up 27 to 19, Brett Eldredge’s “Don’t Ya” up 26 to 24, Bonnie McKee’s “American Girl” up 34 to 26, P!nk’s “True Love” up 29 to 27, and Avicii’s “Wake Me Up!” up 32 to 28. Note that The Neighbourhood see another increase yet again as they jump from 24 to 15. They have has a pretty strange run with “Sweater Weather,” reaching 6x platinum already despite never reaching the top ten! They will undoubtedly have a great placement on the year end chart coming this December. Can you believe that there’s only 12 chart weeks left after this week before I begin to compile the year end chart? Crazy! While “Roar” takes the biggest increase of the week, the biggest decrease of the week goes to Maroon 5’s “Love Somebody,” falling 2.5 points as it slips from seven to 14. Joining the chart this week with “Wrecking Ball” at 35 is Fall Out Boy’s latest single, “Alone Together,” at 32 and Rihanna’s “What Now,” an album track that has been released in a select countries that I still have some hope will be released stateside as well. The three debuts kick out three big hits: The Band Perry’s “Done.,” Demi Lovato’s former number one smash “Heart Attack,” and Kelly Clarkson’s “People Like Us.” Drop Out Runs: The Band Perry - Done. 12 20 40-28-34-27-19-21-18-13-12-12-12-15-14-20-18-28-30-31-38-39Demi Lovato - Heart Attack 01 25 28-14-5-7-4-3-5-2-2-1-1-1-1-2-4-8-16-23-30-31-31-31-38-32-38Kelly Clarkson - People Like Us 08 17 37-22-26-17-10-8-9-11-10-10-21-22-30-29-33-35-37Newly Certified This Week: See all certifications here!

for Lorde, Capital Cities, 'Blurred Lines', Calvin/Ellie, Anna Kendrick, Maroon 5, Taylor/Ed, Katy, Bonnie, Pink/Lily, 'Clarity'. And for "Can't Hold Us" still hanging on - I'd have included that on mine if it wasn't so old by now. :( (Oh well...)

Finally. Now can it double its position next week too? 48. Great "Sweater Weather" climb! 56. Tried Dizzee Rascal yet? 64. "Roar", "True Love", "Wake Me Up" up too yay 72. "What Now" and "Wrecking Ball" :) When I heard "Wrecking Ball" on the radio on Saturday I thought the chorus sounded like "What Now" so interesting coincidence? Probably a flop comparison though I'll see when I finally get around to listening to it properly 80. what the fuck is "Magnetic" by Jessie J 88. You should try using paragraphs. 96. Great debuts last year!

24. why is "I Need Your Love" STILL climbing Austin jumped very late on the track!
Ladies and gentlemen, meet the brand new number one, “Royals” by New Zealand teenager Lorde. “Royals” leaps to number one with a massive increase in points to take the top spot away from Miley Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop.” Yay! Finally :) “We Can’t Stop” is pushed down to number two while Karmin jumps to number three with “Acapella.” Awesome for Karmin. Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding reach a new peak of number seven this week with “I Need Your Love” Great to see that! The chart’s biggest increase of the week goes to Katy Perry’s “Roar,” which rockets from 40 to 22 (just like “Royals” did in its second week, hint hint) with an increase of 4.1 points. Go Katy! Good! While “Roar” takes the biggest increase of the week, the biggest decrease of the week goes to Maroon 5’s “Love Somebody,” falling 2.5 points as it slips from seven to 14. YES!!! Joining the chart this week with “Wrecking Ball” at 35 is Fall Out Boy’s latest single, “Alone Together,” at 32 and Rihanna’s “What Now,” an album track that has been released in a select countries that I still have some hope will be released stateside as well. :) Adds*: Avril Lavigne - Rock N Roll Looking forward to this! :)

Great debuts last year! 8. Finally? Lol, it got there on its seventh week! Not including songs that debuted when the chart started, only one song has made it to #1 faster: "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" got to #1 in 3 weeks. "Royals" ties "Die Young" for second place for the record with seven weeks! Is there an alternate cover? Besides The Love Club cover, I mean? 24. I was very late to that song. It took awhile for it to grow on me. 40. Fall to #28? Hey, anything's possible, I guess. 48. LOL, this is the song's third run in the top 20 and second random surge to the top 15. 56. No 72. lol - well, they're both slow? 80. This. It's from the soundtrack to The Mortal Instruments, which I have no interest in seeing, but "Magnetic" is fantastic. It's in the same vein as "Do It Like a Dude." 88. No! 96. I agree.

And no, there isn't unfortunately, but like I said in Nick's thread the EP cover was the only thing existing until a few weeks ago and it's still what's representing the song, while that single cover is just for the UK pre-order (as they released a different version of the EP there without "Royals"). 48. Oh. Didn't even notice, lol. 72. Maybe. 80. Oh, okay. Seemed weird to me that she had another song out when "It's My Party" is her current single (oh, have you heard it? It's generic pop kinda like "Domino" but less original. I don't know if you're still into that stuff but if you are it's worth checking out ) 88. Why.

Lozzy8. Oh. (1) Oh. (2) 48. Yeppers: 35-36-35-31-30-25-19-19-16-14-16-21-22-17-15-17-22-14-23-24-15... - absolutely incredibly longevity 80. I haven't heard it yet. I still love "Domino," so I'll give it a listen. 86. Paragraphs are for squares. joshI noticed you skipped over "Crazy Kids." Juan CarlosAt first I thought "Rock N Roll" would probably scrape the chart for a few weeks then die, but it's grown on me a lot recently. It could match "Here's to Never Growing Up"'s peak of #3.

Foxes) 06 22 *6x Platinum*Adds*: none *Songs that I've added to my iPod. "Royals" spends a second week at number one while increasing in points extending its lead over the number two song, "We Can't Stop," which loses points this week. However, it seems like it may have competition in "Acapella," which spens another week at number three, but increases in nearly three full points. Many songs see increases this week. The story behind that is quite simple. This week's chart includes my 4-hour trip back home over the holiday weekend from college. For the trip, I created a playlist of recent songs I was into plus a few old favorites rather than just setting it on shuffle like I would normally do. This gave some songs an incredible boost, shaking up the chart. In the rest of the top five, there was a chart anamoly: "Blurred Lines" and "Safe and Sound" are tied in chart points for a second week in a row. This is a big deal because the tie breaker is supposed to be the difference in points. Well, since the songs were tied last week, they have the same difference in points this week. I had to create a new rule for a tie breaker: If the tie cannot be broken by the difference in points column, the tie will then be broken by age with the younger song earning superiority over the older song, thus putting "Blurred Lines" over "Safe and Sound" by one week of a difference. Below the top five, "I Need Your Love" moves up another spot to a new peak of number six. "Hothouse" moves up a spot to number eight, getting closer to matching its original peak of number six. "Tie It Up" is pushed down to number nine, but sees a hefty point increase. "Made in the USA" also re-enters the top ten at number ten. The big story in the 6-10 region, though, is what's going on at number seven. Katy Perry's "Roar" explodes up the chart to number seven from number 22 last week and gains a massive 6.5 points, earning the title of Biggest Increase of the Week. This is the biggest increase for "Roar" in its entire chart run. "Roar" and "Made in the USA" kick out "Treasure" and "Crazy Kids" from the top ten. Below the top ten, other songs reaching new peaks include "Red" at 11, "Dance with Me Tonight" at 13, "American Girl" at 16, "Don't Ya" at 17, "True Love" at 18, "Wake Me Up!" at 19, "Wrecking Ball" at 24, "Alone Together" at 26, and "What Now" at 27. As "Roar" earns the Biggest Increase of the Week, the Biggest Decrease of the Week goes to Selena Gomez's "Come & Get It," which loses 2.3 points, dropping from 20 to 32. The position drop is inflated due to so many songs gaining massive points this week. (Notice "Treasure" falls from six to 12 despite having the same points as last week.) Next week, I expect "Come & Get It" to gain in positions despite losing points again. The chart sees four debuts this week. The highest is Lana Del Rey's "Summertime Sadness" remixed by Cedric Gervais at number 30. This is both Lana's and Cedric's first chart entry for me. Below them is Drake's "Hold On, We're Going Home" featuring Majid Jordan at number 31. This is both artists' first chart entry as well. Debuting at number 37 is Jessie J's "Magnetic" from the soundtrack to The Mortal Instruments. This is Jessie J's third chart entry as "Domino" was the chart's first number one hit and "Wild" peaked at number 13 just a few weeks ago. One spot below that at number 38 is the final debut from Christina Grimmie's "Tell My Mama." Christina Grimmie is a YouTube star turned singer. She released her debut album, With Love a few weeks ago. There has been no official singles released from the album, leaving me to create my own! Yay! "Tell My Mama" was chosen by me to be the first single for two reasons: it was performed on some daytime talk show and it has a cool live band feel that reminds me of marching band, and it's that time of year, so there ya go! The four debuts kick out "The Phoenix," "I Love It," "Can't Hold Us," and "Clarity." I love your entire chart this week, with the exceptions of "Magnetic" and "Tell My Mama". I haven't heard them yet. Lorde at number one, so good. Go "Roar" and "Wrecking Ball"! Also, I love that Lana entry. Overall, fantastic chart. Also, I've been checking out "Replay" and "Hothouse" and both are good. "Hothouse" may even do well on my chart in the near future. Keep up the good charting! :)

I love your entire chart this week, with the exceptions of "Magnetic" and "Tell My Mama". I haven't heard them yet. If you like "Do It Like a Dude" or "Wild," you'd probably like "Magnetic." As far as "Tell My Mama" goes, it has a strong throwback feel to it. I do invite EVERYONE to check out "Tell My Mama," though. And possibly the album track " I Bet You Don't Curse God" simply because it brings the feels. "Hothouse" may even do well on my chart in the near future. OMG, yay!!!!

• "Royals" is still atop! • "Acapella" remains at #3. • "Safe and Sound", "I Need Your Love" and "Roar" are in the Top 10. • Two Taylor Swift songs, "Dance With Me Tonight", "American Girl", "Wake Me Up", among others, climb.

As I expected would happen, many songs see point losses this week due to last week's point inflation. "Royals" lands another week on top, but things are looking dangerous for its run at number one. "We Can't Stop" and "Acapella" remain at the number two and three positions respectively for a third week, but right below them is an absolutely massive jump in the chart. Exploding up an enourmous 20 positions from 24 to four is Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball," earning Biggest Increase of the Week as well with a gain of 5.9 points. With "Wrecking Ball" entering the top five, Miley Cyrus becomes only the third artist ever to have two songs in the top five at the same time. The last time this occured was back on January 20, 2013 when Ke$ha owned the fourth and fifth positions with "C'mon" and "Die Young" simultaneously. Before that, on the October 14, 2012 chart, P!nk had the third and fifth positions with "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" and "Try." Rounding out the top five is 78violet's "Hothouse," finally earning a new peak. There is a lot of shake-up in the second half of the top ten. Kelly Clarkson's "Tie It Up" reaches a new peak of number six, Demi Lovato's "Made in the USA" gets a new peak of number seven, and "Red" enters the top ten for a new peak of eight. Consequently, "Safe and Sound" is shoved down to number nine and "I Need Your Love" down to ten from its peak of six last week. Falling out of the top ten are "Blurred Lines," plunging four to 12, and Katy Perry's "Roar" ("Made in the USA" is a top ten re-entry). "Roar" reached the monthly rolling effect, pulling down its points a bit more than usual. It is expected to re-enter the top ten next week. Earning new peaks this week are: "Everything Has Changed" at 14, "Replay" at 15, "Alone Together" at 18, "Summertime Sadness" at 23, "What Now" at 24, "Hold On, We're Going Home" at 29, "Tell My Mama" at 32, and "Magnetic" at 35. As far as certifications go, it is very important to note that "Wrecking Ball" was certified gold at an extremely fast pace this week. P!nk's "True Love" reached platinum status while "Hothouse" reaches the multi-platinum threshold this week as well. The biggest certification news, though, comes to us from "Cups." "Cups" earned the Diamond Certification this week. "Cups" has showed excellent longevity and peaked at number four back in July. The chart sees three debuts this week. Avril Lavigne's "Rock N Roll" takes the highest debut at 34. "Rock N Roll" is the second single from Avril's fifth studio album, aptly titled Avril Lavigne, due out in November. The album's lead single, "Here's to Never Growing Up" peaked at number three back in June. Avril also had two prior singles peak at number 17 back in the chart's early days with "Wish You Were Here" (most of its run was cut off) and "Goodbye." Debuting at 36 is Mary Lambert's "She Keeps Me Warm." "She Keeps Me Warm" may be better known as the chorus from Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Same Love." Lambert worked with the hip-hop/rap duo to make the chorus to "Same Love," and later ended up creating a full version on her own. "Same Love" failed to chart here, but I have always liked the chorus, so "She Keeps Me Warm" is expected to perform decently well. This is Mary Lambert's first chart appearance and also the first appearance on the chart from an openly gay musician (that I'm aware of, anyway). The third debut at number 38 is Luke Bryan's latest hit, "That's My Kind of Night." Luke is no stranger to the chart with three prior hits. "I Don't Want This Night to End" peaked at 21 in February and March of 2012, "Drunk on You" peaked at 15 in June 2012 and "Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye" also peaked at number 15 back in October 2012. The three debuts kick out Carrie Underwood's "See You Again," Little Mix's "DNA," and Serena Ryder's "Stompa." Drop Out Runs: Carrie Underwood - See You Again 13 16 36-31-25-23-21-19-20-15-13-15-15-16-25-25-31-39Little Mix - DNA 11 14 31-27-13-13-15-11-17-19-17-24-24-18-29-34Serena Ryder - Stompa 18 14 19-35-27-18-19-24-27-25-25-29-27-28-33-40Newly Certified This Week: See all certifications here!

Loving that Lorde is such Royals in this chart. Not a fan of Miley, but she can’t stop wrecking some balls. Red has made the top 10, Katy is out of the top 10 & BL only peaked at 3 it seems. Liking these kind of T-Swift songs. Alone Together is going up with such a jump, hope Wake me Up rebounds, Summertime Sadness, Demons, Sweater Weather. Like the debut of Mary’s own take of Same Love & the Luke song is alright. The rebellion of Teenagers is such a good flashback., Reminds me of Middle school days. Good mix of music in this solid chart.

Miley Cyrus leaps again this week, earning Biggest Increase of the Week for a second week in a row, earning an increase of 5.6 points. You would think this would be enough to take number one, right? Well, you're wrong. At least, when Lorde is involved. "Royals" also sees a nice increase in points this week, lifting to 27.3 points! Let me repeat... 27.3 points! What is so amazing about this? "Royals" just earned a record! "Royals" earns the record for most points gained in a single week! The former record was held by "Just Give Me a Reason" with 27 points even. The crazy thing is "Royals" may not have reached that amount of points this week and lost the number one spot had I not decided to check out the rest of her material this week, resulting in me purchasing nearly all of it and going on a Lorde craze. This may lead to a few Lorde debuts next week. As Miley continues to sparkle with "Wrecking Ball" zooming to number two, the rest of the top five sees a nice shake up. 78violet's "Hothouse" climbs to number three and Kelly Clarkson's "Tie It Up" also shifts up to number four. These two songs push down Karmin's "Acapella" to number five. "Tie It Up"'s entrance into the top five kicks out "We Can't Stop," which drops from number two to number eight. In the rest of the top ten, "Roar" re-enters back up to a new peak of number six, while Taylor Swift's "Red" finds a new peak of number seven. "Made in the USA" slips to number nine while Lana Del Rey enters the top ten after rocketing up from 23. This is Lana's first ever top ten appearance as well as Cedric Gervais'. The new and re-entries kick out "I Need Your Love" and "Safe and Sound" from the top ten. Below the top ten, several songs see increases in points and reach new peaks, including: "Alone Together" at 11, "Everything Has Changed" at 12, "Wake Me Up!" at 14, "Hold On, We' re Going Home" at 19, "What Now" at 21, "Magnetic" at 26, "Tell My Mama" at 28, "Rock N Roll" at 31, "That's My Kind of Night" at 34, and "She Keeps Me Warm" at 35. The chart also sees a debut at number 38 from Bruno Mars' latest single, "Gorilla." The new entry knocks out Timeflies' "I Choose U" from the top 40.
