Now I have been tricked into listening to some of People Like Us. A friend sent me the link saying Kelly's version had leaked but this is clearly not Kelly. Oh well, I stopped it before the first chorus ended but now I know what to expect. HIT!!

I've been seeing tons of ads for CMB on the internet, those like animated boxes. I saw one today advertising the Greatest Hits, it was a banner type of ad like the one on the bottom of Pulse.

I've gotta say, Kelly's team and RCA has done pretty well with the whole no leaking thing so far compared to the past.

Yes, they have done better with leaks. I am sure it is a lot easier to go in and record 3 songs in pretty quick succession and hang on tight to them compared to recording over the course of the year and trying to keep up with tons of songs. Still, I commend them because when you only have 3 new songs on an album you want to make sure their release is done the way you want it.

Not really liking "Don't Rush" but I just finished my first listen; I'll probably listen to it a bit more later. Regardless, I think I'll stick to the "People Like Us" demo for now. :) So excited to see what she does with that song when its released.

The good thing with this era is that there's nothing to lose. I like how they're utilizing all of the 3 new songs. Unlike P!nk, who could have easily had another huge smash in Heartbreak Down. If Catch My Breath were a 1st single for a new studio album, it would be a totally different story. My only biggest fear is that CMB doesn't smash, sales lag, and they don't release People Like Us. But based on hearing that demo, I doubt it will be the case.

^^ I was driving yesterday when this randomly came up on my Kelly playlist and I thought how much better I liked this than Don't Rush. That bridge is absolutely amazing! A part of me also wishes they would've added a little twang to Don't Ever Give Up On Me and had that on the album.

Finally got the chance to really listen to Don't Rush (I added it to my iPod this morning and listened to it a few times while driving, but was busier cursing some other drivers...) and I love it!
It's not a song that will make a big splash on country radio, but I don't think Kelly's plans are to become a country superstar overnight, so this is perfect. It's one of her sexiest songs, the vocals are to die for, and I love the blues/pop/country mix they got here. I've always wanted, down the road, for Kelly to record an album filled with songs like this one. It'll definitely be a mid-sized hit for her. Nicely done!
And I hope they film a video for this one. Hell, have Brandon be her love interest in the video, I'm picturing it right now. Both of them on a house, flirting, moving room to room, blowing candles, simple and sexy.

The Country version of Mr. Know It All never had a music video so it's possible Don't Rush won't have one either. Or they'll use the live performance. Regarding leaks, I'm happy that People Like Us didn't leak early, but I'm looking forward to it leaking any day now.

That's the same exact type of jacket she had on for Loose Women and the BBC Live Lounge, just different color.
It's rehearsals, give her a break haha. That's one of the better rehearsal outfits I've seen on her tbh.

"Spread my wings creatively" and "Promoting the GH album here and there and taking it easy until probably the summer" are my two take-aways that I will over-analyze and jump to conclusions about. I'd love to have a new album from her by the end of next year, but I wonder if she'd ever do three albums in three years. Even though the GH probably won't be as taxing an album to release (not the same level of promo, no tour), it still goes against her own pattern. But she's seemed excited about new stuff so we'll see! She seemed more hesitant about the question of a full-on country album than usual. It's always been a flat-out no, this is more of a "probably not." I think her next album won't be all country, but I think it will have more country influences. |

She looks a lot more like a star in the gifting suite photo. I think she still looks great. People are always nervous about her weight...a lot more nervous than she ever is, probably. |
