Sorry for the delay this week in posting this week's chart. Better late than never, here it is, along with this week's Bonus Tracks. :)
A special week this week as Rick Dees counts down his 2000th show, most likely 2000 shows consisting of both his CHR and Hot AC shows combined. Going back to 1984 or so when he first started the show, there would probably be roughly 1450 CHR additions of the show. Since he started the Hot AC version of his show in the early 90's (for many years a chopped up version of his CHR show with the rap and harder rock songs taken out and replaced by extras), Rick easily has one more than 500 additional Hot AC shows. Taking out the duplicate shows he does for both formats (his "top hits" shows of the past decade or whatever year, and last year's duplicate year-end countdown), this week most likely did add up to his 2000th show (not sure if the Hot AC version or the CHR version put him over the top). And I also wonder if the little heard AC version of his show counts as well! His goal is now to countdown 5000 shows, which according to my calculations (and with the three versions of his show) may be obtainable within the next 20 years or so!
This week, Rick and Kevin Dees share the duties as they countdown their 2000th show. And for their 2000th show, Pink holds at the top spot for the fourth straight show with "Blow Me (One Last Kiss). A big battle is upcoming between Fun., Train and Maroon5 for the top spot in the next few weeks, with Fun. probably grabbing the top spot for a week or two before Maroon5 gets in. Train has an outside shot of stealing a week or two at the top as well.
A big jumper this week by Flo Rida with his latest hit "Whistle", a recent number one pop hit, while No Doubt's "Settle Down" take a big tumble, down 11 spots to #30 this week, reflecting their fast exit from the Mediabase Hot AC chart, which was kind of surprising considering it was a great song from them.
In addition to Maroon5, other decent movers this week belong to Tristan Prettyman, Imagine Dragons and Andy Grammer. Ryan Star and Daughtry return to the countdown this week, while the Lumineers hope to make their first appearance next week with their debut hit "Ho Hey", this week's Sure Shot.
