I hear this said a lot on Pulse. And quite often, I really do feel that the songs Pulse-ers identify as potential smashes at the outset of an era are great single choices. But some of them never get released, sometimes inexplicably. So, what are some nostalgic missed opportunities for you?
I'll start:
No Doubt - Making Out - I have no idea why this wasn't released as the fourth single from Rock Steady. I mean, they went with Running? Really?!?! This is catchy as fuck and still sounds amazing today.

There's a bazillion of 'em, but I can't think of too many right now!
FLIPSIDE Everything But The Girl SHY HEARTS Dan Hartman NONE OF THE ABOVE Duran Duran
Naked Eyes' two albums were full of good stuff, so I'll focus on their underrated second album:
Sacrifice, which would have been the second single, but since the first single bombed so hard, it was never worked and New Hearts, which would have been my third single
Then Hanson, who seem to have some undiscovered gem on every album (except Underneath, imo):
Speechless, from Middle Of Nowhere Save Me, from This Time Around, which was an unofficial 3rd single, with an unofficial video, and did garner some airplay at 8 or 9 stations ... I think 43 or so was the maximum amount of plays it ever got in a week. Go, from The Walk, which was released in a few foreign territories, and even got to #44 in Britain ... it had a burst of airplay here (22 plays) and petered off quickly ... before Hanson recaptured their cool cachet completely. Waiting For This, from Shout It Out, my choice for second single before they went with Give A Little (my third)

Lady GaGa - Monster & Scheiße "Monster" should've been the fourth single off The Fame Monster. Still annoyed that it wasn't released.

Mariah Carey - From E=MC2 ( "Migrate", "For the Record", "Side Effects"), instead of all the wretched singles they released. "Touch my Body" and "I Stay In Love" (should have been the third single, behind "Migrate") were the only good singles released from that album. It's a shame, because it was full of singles.
Britney Spears - From Blackout ("Get Naked", "Radar", "Fillin me up"), that album was full of singles...it's just a shame she wasn't healthy enough to fully promote it. Also, from Circus ("Mannequin")...had she done a full on dance video and released this, it would have done wonders for her career and proved she still has it. Based on that youtube clip of her rehearsal footage (with a dance routine) of this, it would have been amazing.
