I decided Terri Clark (singer of "I Just Wanna Be Mad") should get a topic of her own instead of being lost in the Mindy McCready thread.
Today, The Bear (my country station now) was asking their listeners in the morning show if Terri Clark should pose nude in Playboy.
Half awake, I heard one guy say no way because she'll be barred from country radio like the Dixie Chicks. Another guy said no because Terri Clark looked like a man. A woman said she didn't think Terri should do it because the country music community won't support her, they're not ready for this yet.
Here is an article from Launch about Terri Clark considering the opportunity (BTW, Terri came in second on the Playboy poll, behind Shania Twain, which surprised many):
Terri Clark — Centerfold?
November 11
Should Terri Clark accept the offer to pose nude for Playboy? At last week’s CMA Awards, her fellow country stars weighed in on the issue. According to the Tennessean, most of the guys said she should not do a nude Playboy spread, including Tracy Byrd, Chris Cagle, Tracy Lawrence, Diamond Rio lead singer Marty Roe, Mark Wills, Blake Shelton and Buddy Jewell. Cagle said, ’’I don’t think anybody in country music should be naked in public.’’
However, the members of Lonestar were in support of it and even offered up a few suggestions for the photo shoot. Lead singer Richie McDonald said, ’’She should do it with just a cowboy hat.’’ Guitarist Michael Britt added, ’’Well, maybe three or four.’’
Brad Paisley had a unique perspective on Clark posing nude, saying, ”Yeah! They’d be debating it for years. And we need something to debate besides the Dixie Chicks.’’
Meanwhile, the gals held a different view. Kellie Coffey, Martina McBride and LeAnn Rimes said Clark should pose if she wants.
Playboy.com recently asked readers to determine the hottest country star and asked Clark to do a photo shoot for the magazine. Clark is reportedly considering it. (Launch)
