I was almost certain there would be a Janet track on the album but now I’m not so sure. We’d have heard about it by now 😩

They've kept the list of featured acts very tightly under wraps. I'm sure they worked with Janet.

I hope so. It would be awkward without her.

Damn, that sounds lazy AF based on the clip. Still excited for this project tho.

Their hot sheet is so impressive. Had no clue they produced I Wish I Wasn’t and U Remind Me. I’m looking forward to this release too!

So no Janet after all.. I guess their tweet was just referring to their 35 days countdown.

The song with Mariah is out now.
Edit: Looks like they didn't intend to upload the video yet...

They probably felt this was a chance to spotlight their work outside of their main collaborator so honestly not surprised by the Janet omission. Could also be featured on a deluxe edition or future volume obviously.

With the delayed Janet album hopefully coming soon, it makes sense they may have just saved their work for that.

Why does waiting this last week feel like an eternity when this album has been "Coming Soon" for 2.25 years???

It’s weird how some songs have the act as featured and some have them as an actual artist on the track. Mariah not only sings the entire song but co-wrote it as well, yet she’s a feature?

Not very positive review from Classic Pop magazine, but I'm sure the album should have a couple of highlights at least.

Complaining about melisma on an R&B album is like... should you be reviewing an R&B album? But no one is competing with anyone because it appears at least a handful of the tracks were recorded years ago anyway. Once I learned the Toni contribution was a 16 year old bonus track and Mariah's is decade-old scraps, my expectations for the project went down. I do enjoy the singles they've released thus far, but no they're not Rhythm Nation level Jam & Lewis. Jimmy & Terry are among the most accomplished songwriting and productions teams in popular music history and they've been working on this project forever, so there was bound to be "disappointment" in whatever they put out, especially when they peaked decades ago and probably would have created something more interesting in... 1992 (see: the Mo' Money soundtrack).

I really like about half of the album. The Babyface song is my favorite, but overall I prefer the tracks with female acts. Wondering why this took them so long to put out because judging by some of the production and the artists' vocals, I think many of these tracks were recorded some time between the mid-00s and early 10s.

The album is better than the review I posted above suggests. My favorites: Spinnin', the Heather Headley song and the Usher song.

This is actually pretty solid all together. I mean, hello, these are my beloved voices growing up.
The Heather Hedley song stood out for me.

Pretty sure the Mary song was recorded during the Breakthrough. The songs aren't bad, but this could've been soooo much better. I wish they were all new and not leftovers. And the fact that Janet isn't on here is tragic.

I’m not familiar with any of the songs so I’m pleased with the results. Yes, it was a bit disappointing that most were leftovers; however, it doesn’t take away from the tracks themselves. Am I the only one who think they should consider producing more pop songs in this era? Because that Usher song is a whole mood and I’m impressed how fresh it sounds today while still having their flare. I understand why it’s a highlight for critics.
