There is a good chance that this previously unreleased Johnny Cash duet can become a hit in 2004. Here are a few facts.
1) "Hell This Ain't Heaven" is a duet with Johnny Cash. Actually Johnny Cash makes more of a cameo. Now before you roll your eyes, John Schneider has several hits in the mid-1980's on the country chart, after the "Bo Duke covering Elvis" era.
2) The track was recorded in late 1992, but has not seen the light of day until now. It is available on John Schneider's newest LP of the same name.
3) John Schneider is riding a current wave of popularity due to his role on "Smallville" as Jonathon Kent.
4) There seems to be alot of interest among Johnny Cash fans after visiting some of his fan forums. I think it would be the same even if Cash were still alive due to his success with "Hurt" earlier this year.
5) John Schneider and Johnny Cash recorded another song together in 1986 ("Better Class Of Losers" ) that has stayed popular among their fans throughout the years. Waylon Jennings also appeared on that track.
6) Finally, the song is great!

I rec'd my copy of John Schneider's new CD from his production compnay and was surprised to find that Schneider had personally autographed it. :o For all you doubters, the LP is good. For anyone interested, here is a short clip of the Schneider/Cash collaboration: John Schneider & Johnny Cash "Hell This Ain't Heaven" sample
