For the first time since 1991, Vince Gill will not host the 2004 CMA awards. He says that he needs a break this year, though he may consider hosting again later.
Any ideas on who they'll get? Reba would be great, but she's been doing the ACM's lately. Dolly's also a good choice, but I doubt she'd do it. Maybe Tim & Faith could co-host. What I'd love to see is Natalie Maines & Toby Keith co-host - that'd make for an interesting show.

Dolly's already doing the CMT Flameworthy Awards in April, so I don't know that she'd do this too.
At least Vince Gill gave them plenty of time to find a replacement. No one comes to mind immediately though.

And how would you feel if you were the singer who won the most awards but all the headlines were about the hosts? It really could work to their benefit - more people would tune in if Natalie & Toby hosted, so more people would actually see them win. Much better publicity than top billing in a newspaper story. I forgot that Dolly's doing the Flameworthy's. That pretty much cancels her out here. Terri Clark would be good, but I doubt she'd be asked. Depending on how Faith's new album is received, her and Tim might be the most likely choice.
