The bullet has recovered some since it hit the 20's a few days back. It's +79 today. Unfortunately on the Top 25 market chart it's still at -13. That's improving, at least. It was around the -40's not long ago.
Does anyone know where it is on Billboard today? I hope it's #21 or at least stays at #22. I know it's not #20 (Gretchen Wilson has that).

Passenger Seat reaches #17 on R&R and #19 on Billboard this week. Only 5 days ago it had lost it's bullet for the 2nd time on the mediabase overall chart, but today the bullet is +238. That's the 7th largest bullet. The overnight bullet gain alone was 95, best in the Top 30.
The song's been lacking spins in major markets causing the audience figures to lag, and it had lost it's bullet on the 1-25 chart as well, but that seems to be picking up this week. It has the 5th strongest bullet on the 1-25 chart now, at +79.
I can't really tell yet where this surge is happening. Looking at the station playlists I've been watching lately, I don't see any big moves except for WYUU in Tampa which had a Shedaisy weekend, but that was only about 36 spins out of the overall 7-day bullet. The Format Leaders chart for the song doesn't look all that different this week either, so I guess the gains are happening across quite a few stations, instead of concentrated in a handful trying to push the song up by themselves.

That is probably better don't you think? I mean the fact that stations are slowly adding it. I think that this song is headed into the top 10 soon. I can't wait.

I saw it on CMT three times this weekend, and heard it on WGGY this weekend too.. woohoo. I was thrilled. As was my nephew, who wants to ask Kelsi how that guy swallowed the sword. Muah ha ha. And my baby niece, who ALMOST learned how to say SHeDAISY this weekend. But yeah uhh anyway... still hearing and seeing it. Woohoo

..., heard it on WGGY this weekend too.. woohoo. I was thrilled... You should be even more thrilled to know it's #1 at WGGY. They've been pushing the song from the beginning, consistently being in the top 3 or 4 stations playing the song since it was released. They loves them some Shedaisy there, for sure. The station deserves a visit by the gals when they do their radio promotional tour in support of the new CD "Sweet Right Here"

I said: " I guess the gains are happening across quite a few stations, instead of concentrated in a handful trying to push the song up by themselves" To which gcook replied: That is probably better don't you think? I mean the fact that stations are slowly adding it. I think that this song is headed into the top 10 soon. I can't wait. I do agree it's better that the song have wider airplay in more stations rather than just a handful of stations trying to push the song higher on their own. I'm less optimistic it'll get Top 10, I guess. I just see too much resistence from certain stations to giving the song more airplay. It's doing fine in smaller markets, but the audience figures are lagging. Mediabase has it ranked lower than three other neighboring songs on the chart even though it has quite a few more spins than those others. The audience numbers are holding it back on that chart, and the audience numbers are below where they should be because it's in light rotation at certain large market stations.

Yeah. It amuses me that WGGY seems to like them so much now. They didn't used to. They'd pick on me when I'd call up and ask for their songs... *shrugs* Oh well. As long as they're playing it now. Though "Man Goin' Down" also did really well there. I was impressed. It was weird to turn on the radio one day and hear "Man Goin' Down." Definitely cool. Now they just need to get the girls there for a show...

I noticed that over on David Lee Muphy's news page they're reporting that "Loco" is #17 on both R&R and Billboard this week. I'm wondering if Passenger Seat lost a position on R&R, since it was #17 there last week. "Loco" passed Passenger Seat on Mediabase a few days ago, largely due to the much bigger audience it's getting on four major stations in both Dallas and Houston, and in Denver. The spin difference isn't great between the two songs; It only lost it's spin lead over "Loco" once, a day or two ago, and today regained the lead. Here's a graph showing how Loco eventually caught up with Passenger Seat... home.earthlink.net/~oceanblue831/images/ps_vs_loco.gifIf anyone knows the R&R and Billboard numbers for Passenger Seat this week, I'm curous. Thanks.

It debuts at Number 77 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is Number 15 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.
