Almost Home plays soon after credits start in the movie. There were still a lot of people in the theater at that point. Also, a guy was Shazaam-ing the song as he was leaving. Still top 300 on iTunes. Guess this monster opening didn't help it much.

Are we going to get the "Movie Version" of the song anytime soon. I find that, that specific version sounds better then the one released. Her voice sounds more Mariah, and all the extra ad-libs really help the song imo. If it was up to me, the second version would have been released to the public.
GetEm. Yes Id love for her to release that single tomorrow. But at the same time Id really love for her to have a huge summer single.

I find the movie version a bit awkward. The key change at the end is fine, but a note right after it stuck out in my mind for some reason. I'm glad it was fixed for the actual version released.

I'm assuming that performance is supposed to be some kind of tribute to the current female Idol judges, in which case, what an odd choice for a Mariah song (although they ensured she gets 0 royalties from it). Shady!

^There's a video online where Ryan Murphy says he and the cast "worship Mariah" and they sing her songs on set all the time.
I'm sure them choosing "I Still Believe" has to do with the actual storyline during that episode. I wouldn't read much into it.

The intent doesn't change the point of what I was saying. They picked "I Still Believe" because they were looking for a Mariah song to mash-up with the Nicki song, and it's a bit odd they picked a totally random, forgotten hit (that wasn't even much of a mainstream pop radio hit to begin with) that's one of Mariah's very few hits she didn't write. |
