The 3-12 range has 9 songs from +82 to +204 with nobody obviously going to be Number 1 for a long time.

If that's the case, "American Soldier" earned Strike 1, so if he loses his current mid-week bullet by Sunday then once more, it's likely Tim McGraw and Brad Paisley will fight for the next #1 Sincerely, Noah Eaton

The rule is 3 weeks without a bullet, but weeks at #1 without a bullet don't count as weeks against.
I'm thinking that Tim McGraw may get a weak #1, possibly even without a bullet, since Toby Keith looks to start losing spins soon (especially since "Whiskey Girl" is being released soon). Martina McBride may get a week or 2 if she gets another wind, but I agree that nobody looks like a definite #1 at this point (though Kenny & UK will probably get a few weeks at the top despite their slowdown).

Brad Paisley is currently toe to toe with Tim McGraw in spins, though as far as audience impressions Tim McGraw has a great advantage. My guess is Tim will take #1 next, and yes, it won't be a strong lock. I doubt Martina McBride will go #1. I believe that despite the slowdown Kenny Chesney and Uncle Kracker will suddenly be back up to a +300 to +350 bullet, just like "American Soldier" when it almost lost itsbullet at one point when at #6 on the chart.
