I couldn't find the last Black Eyed Peas thread so I figured I would make a new one!
It was just announced that because of her pregnancy and she will most likely do a solo album after, the Black Eyed Peas are auditioning for a new female lead BUT Fergie will be more than welcome to return to the group whenever she wants to.
That's interesting - they gotta be very careful who they're gonna choose. Fergie IS the star of the group!

In the spirit of #william and #willpower, I'm just going to say it...
#FLOP
Like it or not, Fergie IS The Black Eyed Peas these days.

Fergie IS the star of the group! Fergie IS The Black Eyed Peas these days. No, will.i.am is. I think they can do perfectly fine if they find a good new vocalist. Either way I'm glad that Fergie may be doing another solo album since I prefer her solo work anyway.

I don't know how I feel about this. I can't see them being as successful.

They wait this long and can't even wait a little longer for her to have the baby? Ugh. ETA: What if it's Britney? She and will.i.am are BFFs.

Without Fergie, I could care less about them. I could see them getting random massive features similarly to what will.i.am has been doing with his solo material as of late.

Their last single peaked in August 2011, that's 19 months ago. Not that long.

They wait this long and can't even wait a little longer for her to have the baby? Ugh. You gotta take consideration that she just got pregnant a couple months ago and she wants to take a year off after the birth of her child. So she would be ready in 2015 and she wants to do a solo album, so add one more year.

Not to mention will.i.am's album is just about to come out, and I doubt he's gonna focus on the group for a while. Plus they took a 4 year break between albums before. So they can clearly wait, and then come back completely refreshed and ready to smash again. They wait this long and can't even wait a little longer for her to have the baby? Ugh. You gotta take consideration that she just got pregnant a couple months ago and she wants to take a year off after the birth of her child. So she would be ready in 2015 and she wants to do a solo album, so add one more year. She should have done the album already if she wants to do an album. If she's really going to do a solo album, I doubt she'll go back to BEP.

What kind of bullshit is this ? I heard Fergie and will were fighting but wtf. I love the peas but without Fergie I'm out. Unless they get Queen Nicole then I might check them out.

What kind of Pussycat Dolls nonsense... Upon opening the thread, I was actually thinking Nicole Scherzinger would be a prime candidate to hop on that opportunity, haha... Not sure what to make of this yet - didn't care much either way for Fergie; all I want is more of their earlier sound and less of the electronic influences of their last two eras.

ETA: What if it's Britney? She and will.i.am are BFFs. More Britney can never hurts! Seriously though even though it won't feel like BEP without Fergie like Slizzard says I think as long as the new female vocalist sounds good on the tracks they can do well regardless. Although who knows if this is even true considering the story originated from Perez.

This. Especially since Fergie is not apart of this new era.

Wasn't Scherzinger the first who was asked to join them before Fergie took the position anyway? I can totally see that happening. Can't wait for the mess this will be!!!

I don't like this at all. I'd rather them just not get a new female member and wait 'til she's ready. The Black Eyed Peas will suck without Fergie. They'll suck more with some Fergie replacement.

They should just make another hip-hop album like they were making before Fergie. A return to original form would be refreshing coming from them (to me).

Probably not but I don't see them using a Fergie fill-in working out too well either (unless that's what you mean by lose/lose).
