Great planning. Good Good is his biggest hit in years. Would love for him to have a big mainstream comeback.

Awesome news! Great way to kick off 2024! Would definitely be looking forward to the halftime show and the new album.
I hope he will also be the VMAs Vanguard recipient for next year. It's time that MTV give him his flowers.

Woo hoo! The halftime show is so deserved, and long overdue tbh.

glad to see him get this moment! This should be one of the best male half-time shoes behind MJ and Prince.

Excited for this, I'm sure he'll do a great job! Of course he has a HUGE back catalog of hits to perform, but he hasn't had much mainstream success in a while, so it will be interesting to see if this revives his career in any major way, especially with his new album coming out the same day! (I'm also expecting at least a small boost for Good Good right now).

I know it's five million years old, but I was really hoping it included "Bad Habits," lol. Oh well! That song deserved so much more.

Obviously Spotify is not everything, but I thought I'd look at Usher's top songs on there to see what songs have endured the most. His top 10 based only on Spotify streams (unless I missed something):
1. Yeah! 2. DJ Got Us Falling In Love 3. My Boo 4. Without You 5. U Remind Me 6. OMG 7. U Got It Bad 8. Love In This Club 9. You Make Me Wanna 10. Burn
These all have more than 200 million Spotify streams.

I also think his "most remembered' differs a lot for R&B vs. Pop audiences. I'd add "Climax," Confessions Part II," and "Nice & Slow" on the R&B side while above songs like "DJ," Without You," and "OMG" are probably among his most time-tested for Pop people. Obviously "Yeah!" is No.1 across the board lol.

That hook could really work in the SB setting! Also, I realized I missed "I Don't Mind" and it would make his top 10 overall on Spotify. I went ahead and added together Spotify and YouTube totals to get his overall top 10 from those services: 1. Yeah! 2. DJ Got Us Falling In Love 3. Without You 4. My Boo 5. I Don't Mind 6. U Got It Bad 7. OMG 8. Burn 9. Love In This Club 10. U Remind Me I'd kind of love if he kicked off the show with the 2nd verse of "My Way" because it could be like a statement to the haters ("Don't check me"), and then he'd be saying others like it 'my way.' The top 3 of this top 10 will all work great for the halftime show. I'd love a bit of "Burn" to give us vocals (and "Climax" too but not sure that's lilely). He could also of course bring out Alicia for a bit of "My Boo" and then she could do some of "No One" or something, but I don't think any guests are needed (except maybe Luda for his iconic "Yeah!" bars).

Seems like this is becoming Usher's "stepping into my legacy" moment.
