The only reason "Twisted" is being released is because of the success of "Blurred Lines", "Get Lucky" & other throwback hits. I'm not complaining though "Twisted" is one of my favorites from L4M.

That, and he was promised a performance on The Voice and lacks a new song to perform.

We don't know if it's definitely going to be released anyway. I think a lot of it will depend on reaction to his performance.

It's also fair enough; he released this song on his album ahead of any of the above. He deserves his due!

He killed that performance. The song isn't in the iTunes top 100 though, so if there were any thoughts of throwing it out as a single they should probably be ditched.

Sad but true. A splattering of contestant cover songs have infiltrated the iTunes chart but Usher is nowhere to be seen? It's a difficult concept to grasp. Even more so when you consider that this is the stage that ignited "Blurred Lines."

True. I'm not surprised at the number of contestant performances however b/c TV counts those toward the vote total. So there's some extra incentive for fans buying those covers. I do have one theory...BL was already rising and had some video buzz when Robin finally performed it. Other songs that have been performed have been new singles that had some airplay/sales/other promo going for them already so those songs were going in with a bigger advantage..."Twisted" otoh was probably not even in the top 1000 before Usher performed it. So for all we know it did see a comparable boost percentage-wise, just still not big enough to crack the top 100. I didn't think to check the top 1000.

L4M sold 3k copies last week and re-entered the BB 200, when he'd been selling just below 1k a week for a few months...not sure what caused that jump b/c as far as I know he hasn't done anything for the album since the AMAs, but the "Twisted" performance could help him out in album sales for a second week, rather than single sales.

EDIT: I finally found a video. Great performance! I'm still not completely sold on the song, but it does work much much better live than on record. It's a performance tune for sure.

Usher's Son Hospitalized After Drowning In Pool

Usher's five-year-old son Usher Raymond V was brought to an Atlanta hospital Monday (August 5) after an accident in the singer's pool. According to E! News, the "Yeah" singer's son drowned while trying to get a toy that was stuck in an underwater pool drain as stated in an Atlanta police report.

His aunt and a housekeeper unsuccessfully tried to free the younger Usher, whose arm was also caught underwater. The former Voice coach was not home at the time of the incident but arrived when two male contractors were giving Raymond V CPR and medical personnel arrived on the scene.

Raymond V is the oldest of Usher's three children with ex-wife Tameka Foster. The accident comes a year after their late stepson Kile Glover, died after being struck by a jet ski on Lake Lanier.

Fortunately, his son is "conscious, alert and breathing" while recovering at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite. Tameka is said to be at the hospital with Usher as well.

A judge ruled that Usher will maintain custody after the near-drowning of 5-year-old Usher Raymond V.

Usher will maintain primary custody of his two sons after an emotional day in court.

Ex-wife Tameka Foster filed an emergency request for primary custody after an incident on Monday that left the couple's son Usher Raymond V in the hospital. The 5-year-old boy came close to drowning under the watch of Usher's aunt, Rena.

"That's chaos, that's chaos," Foster said, breaking into tears after describing the former couple's other son, Naviyd, jumping into the pool to try to rescue his brother.

However, according to TMZ, a judge ruled that the pair's current custody status would remain in place. Usher Raymond V is still hospitalized.

The former couple finalized their divorce in 2012, three years after Usher filed for the split.

Not the easiest of times for Usher. Hopefully his son recovers quickly.

This is B. Cox produced track is from the recording sessions for Usher’s “Here I Stand” album but never made the album lineup. In my opinion, the song is “Confessions” era worthy and even features Usher making reference to his iconic album with the line “I did my confessions a long time ago”. This song tells a great story of past relationships and issues over a great simplistic beat that is R&B honorable. The song even surprises with a great reference to Jon B’s “They Don’t Know”.

Usher Cuts Hair After Mom Signs Petition

The ‘fro is no more. After his mother filed a petition for him to get rid of the his hairy do, Usher brought back his sleek shape-up just in time for The Golden Globes Sunday (Jan. 12).

The singer has been keeping tabs on his forthcoming role in the film Hands of Stone, where he plays boxing great Sugar Ray Leonard and let his locks flow to truly embody the character.

“My commitment to his character demands that I not only physically get ready, but also become him," Ursh said in the November issue of Men's Health magazine.

His 1.3 million followers can attest that the 35-year-old triple threat has definitely become Sugar Ray with a baby afro and six pack to match.

His mother wasn’t such a fan of his new look though. Usher posted a picture last Thursday of a hand written petition where his mom Joanetta Patten was the first to provide her John Hancock that called for him to “cut that hair off. Now. Yesterday.” The caption read, “Relax People…you’ll get what you want on Sunday.”

Usher said during his Golden Globes interview that the new album has been pushed back to "middle of the year." I guess that means we shouldn't expect a lead single til around March or April (at the earliest) when only two weeks ago he said top of the year, so I wonder what's changed behind the scenes.
