She is honestly my most anticipated artist right now. I was excited for Katy, but Roar was a huge let down and DH feels incomplete. Royals, Tennis Court, Team, and Bravado are amazing and I hope she sees success with future singles.

Hmmm, a bit underwhelmed, all the new songs are bit lukewarm. idk, maybe it'll grow on me, EP sounds so much more promising tho.

Lorde stated in an interview that she was offered the supporting act spot on Katy Perry's upcoming headline tour, but turned it down.

^ Lorde and Katy aren't exactly in the same style or vibe musically.

Gurl ... just curious, what did she say about Lana and Swift? she didn't want to open for Katy, some people take that as a diss too, lol. Question:As a young woman, have you felt it necessary to call attention to the control you’ve taken over things? Or to remind people that you’re both a writer and singer? Answer: Absolutely. I think a lot of women in this industry maybe aren’t doing so well for the girls. I’ve read interviews where certain big female stars are like, “I’m not a feminist.” I’m like, That’s not what it’s about. She’s great, but I listened to that Lana Del Rey record and the whole time I was just thinking it’s so unhealthy for young girls to be listening to, you know: “I’m nothing without you.” This sort of shirt-tugging, desperate, don’t leave me stuff. That’s not a good thing for young girls, even young people, to hear. I don’t really have any girls songs [for the new record]. I should have. But I think the way in which I assert myself as not being about that stuff is by writing about it in a way that’s a bit less obvious and less cloying. There are a couple songs on the record about relationship-y stuff, but I make sure to write about it in a way that you don’t know if it’s a friend or a relationship, because that’s something that’s personal to me. www.thefader.com/2013/08/08/interview-lorde/

I just finished listening to it and thought it was a solid record. I don't understand why she went with "Team" thought, it's one of the weaker moments on the album. I love "400 Lux" and "A World Alone".

Here it is ... Found it But I think there is another one too
“What really got me is this ridiculous, unrelatable, unattainable opulence that runs throughout. Lana Del Rey is always singing about being in the Hamptons or driving her Bugatti Veyron or whatever, and at the time, me and my friends were at some house party worrying how to get home because we couldn’t afford a cab. That is my reality

I got it that Lorde must be really pissed off Coz there is no single article about her That does not compare her or touch on Lana Del Rey As much As I like Royals These kind of stuff for someone who has only one hit Makes me ... Really not to like her But it is coz Lana Del Rey has been my # 1 artist for last year and a half If she was talking about Katy or sMiley... I would not mind Truthfully

Yeah, I thought the same I can only justify her stupidity in saying such things because of her age 16... She will learn.

oh, she's one little fiery lady, isn't she lol. I like her speaking her mind, not just some fake modesty, pc crap, even though I don't agree with everything she said. I do agree with the thing about pop music focus of love & relationships tho. too much cliche ridden, unrealistic, melodramatic, especially for young girls.

Why is she not allowed to have an opinion on other artists style of song writing without receiving criticism? Just because she might not agree with some of the views and stuff Lana writes about doesn't exactly mean she is dissing Lana herself. She was just saying those themes are unrelatable to her personally, because she is from a modest background. Now she has an international hit though her tune may gradually change. I guess we'll see.
Album was a bit samey overall. Nothing really catchy enough outside of the singles from what I can hear.

yeah, the singles are the best off the album. the rest are not as good, but still pretty fresh sounding to me. samey is Birdy's album, both lyric theme wise and music wise.

www.thevine.com.au/music/news/hunger-games-soundtrack-features-the-national-lorde-20130928-265974/The soundtrack for The Hunger Games, the latest young adult fiction series-turned-film craze to sweep up the world's teens, will feature a pretty well rounded lineup of artists from across the world.
Holding down the moody indie rock portion of the soundtrack are sensitive crooners Coldplay and The National, but it will also feature a track from The Voice judge Chrstina Aguilera, a cover of 'Everybody Wants To Rule The World' by New Zealand teen sensation Lorde (the only person on the soundtrack to actually be in the film's target demographic), a track from Aussie singer Sia, and even a contribution from the legendary Patti Smith.
The soundtrack will be available on November 19th ahead of the film's November 22nd release. See the full tracklist below.
Coldplay - 'Atlas' Of Monsters and Men - 'Silhouettes' Sia (ft. The Weeknd & Diplo) - 'Elastic Heart' The National - 'Lean' Christina Aguilera - 'We Remain' The Weeknd - 'Devil May Cry' Imagine Dragons - 'Who We Are' Lorde - 'Everybody Wants To Rule The World' The Lumineers - 'Gale Song' Ellie Goulding - 'Mirrors' Patti Smith - 'Capital Letter' Santigold - 'Shooting Arrows At The Sky' Mikky Ekko - 'Place For Us' Phantogram - 'Lights' Antony and the Johnsons - 'Angel On Fire'

Lorde Shares Thoughts On Selena Gomez / Slams ‘Come & Get It’As she continues to welcome the kind of critical acclaim many a star could only dream of, Lorde has shared her thoughts on Pop sensation Selena Gomez. What she said on the Disney star? In a recent interview arranged to promote her #1 single ‘Royals’, the teen sensation shared: “I love pop music on a sonic level. But I’m a feminist and the theme of her song [Come & Get It] is, ‘When you’re ready come and get it from me.’ I’m sick of women being portrayed this way.” thatgrapejuice.net/2013/09/lorde-shares-thoughts-selena-gomez-slams-come-it/#more-122156
