Wow. For some reason, I remember "Misery Business" being a lot bigger than that. Only #12? I thought it was a top five hit. It sure felt like it.

"Misery Business" did feel like it was bigger than the chart states! I also cant believe "Crushcrushcrush" wasnt a Hit! It was so much better than "MB" in my opinion!

It was an alternative hit, if that's worth anything. Peaked at #4.

For them, maybe. 'Experimental' and 'new direction' doesn't have to mean 'something nobody has done before, like, ever'. I know, but this feels like the same thing they've been doing all these years. ![:-X](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/lipssealed.png) I do hope it grows on me though; I actually really liked Paramore back around 2008. I was devastated that "That's What You Get" didn't do better.

I don't think a lack of Paramore on pop radio means pop radio doesn't have variety at the moment. I was talking more about the style rather than the artist. Radio PDs already snubbed their noses at new material from 3DD, Nickelback, Daughtry, AAR, BLG, MB20, The Fray, and various other rock bands following that sound or perhaps expanding it while staying true to the rock/alternative genre. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if that same doggone thing happened again in this scenario, but I'd be tickled if this were to make it near the top 20 on this format or the more adult-oriented format. It's very infectious imo, as well as most of the album.

The guitar is good but the lyrics sound as if they were brought pre-packaged to the band. I can't say I'm a huge fan of this song but it's decent. I think they were at their prime during the Riot! days - the departure of the Farro brothers makes it look like they're going down the easy, soft-pop route.

Up #52 to #22 in Australia, their fourth top 50 hit and highest charter since "The Only Exception".

Hayley Williams is The "Gwen Stefani" of this new era! And I couldn't be happier!
This track needs to hit hard (I'm talking higher than TOE) It truly is that good

I absolutely love the verses on this one. The vocal inflictions she puts on certain words and lines reminds me A LOT of Crash Test Dummies.

A rather odd point of comparison - are you a big fan of the Crash Test Dummies? As in, have you listened to any songs besides the one big hit? I haven't, but I'm wondering if they're worth checking out or if they're one of those bands that are better left in 90s alt-rock dustbin.

It's fairly decent. About half of the album I really love, and the rest is just meh. The verses of this remind me, in particular, of "Afternoons & Coffeespoons."
